This is by the far the easiest and best way to play The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR with hundreds of mods to make your gameplay better. The mod list is super performant, is very close to a vanilla+ experience and is a one click installation. This guide covers everything you need to do before and after installing, and even provides a guide on how to add mods to this mod list.

FUS has removed all ENBs from their modlist. More info in their Discord. Wanna try my personal modlist? You can download it here: www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/95028 It is designed to be the most immersive and beautiful Skyrim VR experience possible (or at least will be when it is fully finished), but it is not performance friendly. Meant for people (me) who have a 3090 or higher.

This was a god send and made me want to try out wabbajack. I've been modding for years in a pretty hardcore level, but this time I just didn't want to go jump through all the hoops yet again and end up breaking my modlist yet again. The fact that the FUS list is all setup in MO with instruction and what is actually going on with the mod list made me want to use it as a starting point for my next build.

I wanted to get that as well! AV1 is an amazing encoder. Can lower the bitrate to 50Mbps and have the same quality as HVEC/H.264 at 75 Mbps. Less Wi-Fi interference!

Dude you're the friggin BEST! I have been LOVING this! Stealth Archer is scary AF! I've been in Bleakfalls for over and hour just creeping. I have to literally psych myself up before I go around each corner. The Draugr are scary AF! This is the MOST immersed I've ever been in any experience yet in my life! Thank you so much!

Hey, thank you for this video, great work! I'm glad you liked it and the intention of providing a straightforward vanilla plus experience is working out. We will link to this in our guides now :) That being said we do recommend the enhancer enb now, it is a fantastic option and the performance version is also very easy on the GPU. It works very well together with glamur reshade as well.

Wow! GREAT VIDEO! You earned a Like in the first few minutes. So thorough and clearly explained it's hard to imagine you left any possible sticking point unmentioned. At the end when you mentioned how some people spend more time installing and testing mods than they do playing... lol... All I can say it's THAT'S ME! In years past I definitely let the FOMO get to me. Now though, while I'd never play any version of Skyrim without mods that correct or remove really annoying "features," I'm much more measured in my approach and expect to, finally, actually get past the beginning of the main quest line lol. A few tips for anyone reading this. In lieu of a performance hitting ENB or ReShade give the simple mod Imaginator a try. It adds a MCM entry but you don't need that. Use the spell Summon Imaginator Helper and a guy will appear in front of you. Talk to him and select the Presets dialogue. Then, if you like bright, brilliant colors like the old Technicolor movies - Ben Hur, The Ten Commandments and such - try the Holy Hell preset. When it's sunny out it looks FANTASTIC! Realistic AI Detection is great. The author, now deceased (apparently), developed RAID Weathers specifically for that mod and spent over a thousand hours play testing it. Other weather and or lighting mods don't necessarily help or hinder detection - or so he said. Me I don't know but I just installed both. I'm a sneaky guy.

@@rainsoup4429 it was multiple things but biggest problems for me was when the installation had failed and i retried it, it must of duplicateed some files somewhere because I had files in my overwrite folder so it would crash on launch. That required me to do a fresh install of skyrim and completely redownload the mod. The 2nd issue was that I didnt download the .net runtime that this video mentions because I just assumed I had it ( I did not).

Finally got in. I went to riverwood to see If I can even run the mod. and my god it took my breath away. I mean it literally Stole my breath. It was clear. It was colorful. The godrays were shining over the mountain. the water was immaculate. It just left me crouching in the street in complete awe.

Great guide, thank you. Sorry if I missed this but you said you use Virtual Desktop. How do launch Skyrim? Did you make a batch file for it or do you use the mod organizer from the Desktop inside VRD?

I tried getting Skyrim VR going and it just went black, no matter how much I tried tinkering with stuff. I did the first few steps of your video up to the point to where you have to load the game for the first time, and my game actually loaded. I love you so much 😂

Appreciate this guide, and I really love that wabbajack installs skse automatically without me touching anything because I almost ALWAYS have issues with it, even though i follow the instructions step by step. Even with vortex it/I never seem to install skse correctly through modpacks, so it was such a relief that the moment the wobbajack download finished I was ready to fire it up and play. Tossed roughly 35 of my favorite (compatible) SSE mods on top of FUS and its been working great. Thank you so much for saving me the headache of modding because I just cant do it anymore haha. Instead of playing spider-man 2 im playing skyrim for the 1000th time and loving it in a whole new perspective

I appreciate the help.. It was always a few hour ordeal me trying to download a bunch of mods and come to find some of them are incompatible.. with this list i was able to get skyrim vr fully modded and the only real time spent was waiting for the 300 or so mods to download (not long)

Do you actually have to create another steam library to download the game onto? I tried using the tool you linked in the description as I only have one drive and the tool said it was successful, but when I go to steam it shows that I only have one download library.

Thanks a lot. A few things to point out. 1. Have to get nexus premium account, or wabbajack cannot continue from installation step 7 of 14. 2. mod organiser needs to be updated to latest version (2.5.0) or game crashes on first time start.

Sorry may sound like a dumb question but it doesn't seem like any of the ENBs are in the Mod list that comes with Mod organizer once all the FUS mods are installed? Do the ENBs have to be downloaded separately? When I tried to do that Nexus told me that mode (High Fidelity ENB) was already installed.

Something VERY IMPORTANT - when you install Mod Organizer, it takes control of your SkyrimVR save games. They are no longer backed up on Steam, or in Documents/mygames - Mod Organizer keeps them stored internally. This means that if you break the game with mods and delete/rebuild, when you delete the mod organizer folder it deletes all your savegames. There is an option in Mod Organizer that will copy the internally stored savegames to the normal savegame location on your hard drive, and once they are copied over steam will now back them up to the cloud.

So I think it may have finished installing because I seem to have all the zip files when compared to the archive, however I only have a "downloads" folder in my FUS folder and the ModManager is in a zip file as well, do I just need to delete it all and start over or just unzip the download manager one or something else???

Would this process work the same for normal Skyrim? I did it last night for Skyrim VR works perfect just need to mod normal Skyrim now I was thinking of putting normal Skyrim in the file I made for Skyrim vr last night as I only have one drive would this work? As I want to use wabbajack for it thing is if I can’t if I make a new file for normal Skyrim dose wabbajack need to be in it as you can only have one copy of it

I just got the Kat VR and have been trying to get Skyrim to work with it. The Treadmill worked right off the bat, but the modding was hours of work. A lot of people out there are saying Wabbajack makes it idiot-proof but wow, this is not easy. You made a very complicated process as easy as possible, but I'm shocked that people think this process is easy or straightforward.

Any tips on making it fullscreen? Great tutorial, it works great! But I can't get MO2 to open the game fullscreen (properly). It looks great in the goggles but on the monitor, it is a small, but tall window. I could go to SteamVR and fullscreen goggle view, but it is a bit choppy in comparision to the skyrimvr.exe. I managed to make it fullscreen, but it looks soooo zoomed in, and it glitches it I try to change the window. Any tips?

I just followed your steps and was able to get it working. I was using my Pimax5KSuper headset. Wow, this is a Brand New experience for me. I just have to get me a more powerful PC my i9-11900K and RTX3090 is struggling to run it smoothly. It works just not perfectly. Maybe, I should try it using my Quest 3 or Quest Pro... Maybe it will run better... Thank you for taking the time to make it so darn simple. 😉👌

Thanks for this.. got everything installed and working. Very nice compared to the stock which I was playing. How do you jump though? Also should it be really obvious that the graphics are better? I'm running a 4090 and maybe I was just expecting better but I'm not sure I can tell a big diff in graphics. Is it more effects than resolution in the graphics mods? I think I have it 100 percent scaling but do I change the resolution anywhere?

If you want a bigger improvement, try my list. If you just want higher resolution, make sure you turn off Dynamic resolution and use DLAA.

I have a really important question. I did everything and no issues. Its the save file I have from finishing the tutorial and now I am being directed to Whiterun. I'm pretty sure I have the beginning completed (sorry I have never played Skyrim before). But once I have launched the game through mod organizer it ONLY gives me the option to start "new". I cannot "load" the save file from playing it through steam VR. I would assume that I copy the save file to another folder some how. But I don't know any folders or anything really haha. Or maybe I did something wrong. Not sure how to start the game from Mod Organizer. Thanks for you answers

You have to transfer it to mod organizer, which keeps saves separate. Open MO2, go to the profiles section, and there should be a button to transfer saves

Great video mate! Why is it necessary to create a new install folder for steam? I have a single ssd drive and used the steam drive mod but it didn't work at all. Is there any issue with just running everything through the standard steam folder?

I'm not sure, since I've never tried it. But you'll probably have to manually fix some things if you do it that way.

Does anyone know if there's a mod where you have to hold the grip button the entire time you're holding weapons? I feel like it would be way more immersive if when you let go of the grip button you drop your sword. But also letting go of the grip at your waist binds it to the waist still. Im sure this exists I just dunno where or how to find it.

Hello I have recently installed this mod pack and I am having a great time but I am experiencing one bug with the road textures thats bothering me. Basically unless Im turned in a specific direction the stone road texture goes away and all I see is plain untextured dirt. Was wondering if anybody had experienced this before and was able to fix it. Im using the High Fidelity LCD ENB

Im going to look into this more tomorrow. 358 mods is insane lol. I cant imagine more than 50 of them are good, but i do appreciate how good this tutorial was. V.R.I.K, H.I.G.G.S, and those gestures you showed off already make the game leagues better. Then for flavor, Immersive smithing and mining, Enb/reshade and those runes during spellcasts. ( personally i like Apocalypse in vanilla! Just dont use the ones that are cheats lol.) So yeah idk how they got a number like 358. My best modded experience ever was 106 on Oblivion and even that was kinda overkill. Happy New Year🎉

My personal list is at over 1200. The number can get pretty high when you start including retextures and other small improvements to the overall look

@@akaricodane401 Been modding for almost 10 years now. But hey I'm sure you know more since you're on the same guide video as I am. You're tweaking if you need that many mods to enjoy the game lol. I took over 100 out of FUS day one. All these modpacks are outdated as of 3 weeks ago anyways.

Is there anyway to troubleshoot the weapon throw mod? My character essentially stays put in 3D space and I become a floating camera whenever I use this mod.

I'm having an issue where when I try to select the installation folder. Whenever I set it to the FUS folder, it says that I can't download modlist in game folder even though FUS is supposed to be in the skyrim vr folder. Anyone know how to fix this?

Oh wow, I never knew about Full body haptic suits haha, this is so awesome and kind of funny. Just out of curiosity, I heard you mention you like to play seated sometimes, so Skryim VR is completely playable seated?

I'm like 3/4 of the way through the main quest with about 40 active mods. Will uninstalling and removing everything cause me to lose my save progress? I understand how to back up, and cloud sync with steam etc, I'd like to try this but I really don't want to play all the way to Dragonrend again lol.

I get this when I open mod organizer "mod organizer is not set up to handle nxm links. associate it with nxm links?". What should I do?

Hello @VirtualPandaVR. I played with this mod for some time, and it was good! Now, I just upgraded my PC from old Intel chip to AMD's 7 7800x3d also DDR5 and nvme for games and Windows... and now for some reason I see in both - the menu of the game and during gameplay itself, my PC desktop. Just huge desktop floating near me, while I am running threw Whiterun. It wasn't like this before PC upgrade. More than this, it is not like this while I am running the game from steamVR (and not from Mod Organizer). And this issue isn't appear in other VR games. I reinstalled the game, it didn't help. Reinstalled the mod list (again - using your guide) - no change. Can you help please? I use RTX 3080 and Quest 3 headset.

Awesome video! Why cant we just install Skyrim in the steam default folder C:?

It won’t let me change the path to be outside of steam. I’ve even moved the whole Skyrim folder over post install as last resort but the exe just opens steam, which starts a new install in the common folder again as an update.
