Grant fan detected, opinion respected. His wall climb is so damn good for noping out of the worst platforming segments. And his axe is all you need for Dracula's last 2 phases.
Yes. I think he’s the best partner especially if you keep Trevor with holy water the whole time. Breaks my heart they neglected him from the show. Thanks for watching!
@@Imgoodurbadd I don't remember if I had that specific sword and I don't remember what I did exactly but bosses were going down in like 30 seconds lmao
@adrianamorphous it’s the rare weapon that drops in the room with all the ghosts in the inverted library. Insanely fast. But yeah symphony easy but fun
Randomly found you on my cursed youtube timeline, and thankful I clicked... Editing and comedy delivery is top notch. I don't want to think about how much of a nightmare it was assembling all the assets you needed to make this.
It is definitely a process while managing other responsibilities but I enjoy the process 100%. I love this game to death and retro video games. Thank you so much for checking out my video
Oh and Castlevania 3 is the hardest "not bad" Castlevania game. I'm saying not bad because Haunted Castle and Adventure could be considered more difficult but those games make Simon's Quest look like a master piece.
Yeah I tried haunted castle it was not a fun experience. I beat the adventure and the only positive is the music(Chris’s walking speed is disgusting) Castlevania 3 even though difficult the game is a damn masterpiece so I played it a lot and it’s my 2nd fav game of all time now. Simon’s quest isn’t a terrible game just not my cup of tea
Hello. Yes I prefer Grant simply because of his mobility and skips he can do. If you keep holy water with Trevor, you don't even need Syfa. I'll show you in part 2 how to deal with the pesky doppelgänger. Thanks for watching!
Hi thank you for watching! If you’re referring to level 7 on alucard’s path(abandoned mines) I cover that in part 2. There’s ways to decimate the level
@@Imgoodurbadd I look forward to it, it's the main reason I don't like to replay it since I prefer taking him into the final level over Sypha and Grant
@@ImgoodurbaddIf you don't mind, how are the orbs weaker in the North American release? I know about a lot of the difficulty, music, etc. changes, but the orb one is new to me.
@hadesKIU if I remember correctly I think the way they track enemies isn’t as precise as the Japanese version.( I will double check but it’s still decent but you also cannot use it again until all the orbs leave the screen which American version it’s worse)
@@Imgoodurbadd It might have been literally impossible to do on NES. The Famicom version got a custom mapper that Nintendo of America didnt agree with. Way earlier in the NES Lifespan, the "clone orb" from Gradius got nerfed due to lack of specs vs Famicom.
If I were to random guess I would say the easiest Castlevania in the series is one of the GBA metroidvanias since all of them you can eventually grind out even if you have zero talent
@@eightcoins4401 Many people call it Search Action that is the genre. Just like STG or Shooting Games. Are you seriously going champion an alternative name?
modern editing with retro games is an oddly peak combination xd loved this game when I played it on emulator even though its BRUTAL compared to most games I play which aren't retro (though really well made for its time, even today) and the soundtrack 🔥🙏🔥
I’m glad to hear it! I thought it was unique and a way to express my enjoyment of retro games. Castlevania 3’s gameplay is peak if you know what you’re doing and soundtrack in both versions are great
Subscriber gained, I'm biased towards retro games and the humor of this video is gold. The memes might be excessive to others, but they're placed perfectly to me
New sub, nice video bro. I remember playing Castlevania 3 a few years ago when I got obsessed with CV games for a few months. It's a fun game but I still prefer Super Castlevania IV
Thanks so much. I appreciate you checking out my video. I’m still obsessed with this game it’s my favorite in the series hands down. I like super castlevania IV but it’s more for atmosphere and fluid controls. (Also simon’s theme hits hard)
Its somehow funny that in this game is trevor trash-tier while the other characters break , skip and trivialize everything in a heartbeat . While grant is peak , i still stay with alucard . His bat form is the best FU amd his fireballs easily are great for anti-air and regular attacks .
I still enjoy doing Trevor only runs. Alucard’s bat form is underrated only downside is suffering through one level but trade off could be worth. As for attack, I never use him for that
@@Imgoodurbadd Maybe the characters are somehow designed to be like difficulty levels for only one character runs too . I mean the replayability of this game is to this day astounding from its different approaches.
Alucard’s path is definitely meant for him. If you take grant or sypha, they are not useful compared to him. The replay ability is what keeps me coming back I’ve easily played this game over 100 times
Great channel, I love Castlevania 3 but I remember it being a pain in US. I've since tried japanaese version and its a lot easier. Your editing is so funny too so i subbed.
Hi thank you for the kind words. Castlevania 3 is easily my favorite game in the series. The American version feels more castlevania to me but the Japanese version is a great way to try out the game. I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
@@Imgoodurbadd Ay no problem man, always glad to meet a fellow Castlefan. Currently replaying Symphony of the Night and playing through the dsvanias for the first time too. American one is definitely nostalgic but also the damage being multiplied is kind of a pain. I still remember enjoying it but japanese version is nice cause its less difficult. Plus the Famicom's ost is peak.
Good man. Symphony is awesome(more of a Classicvania guy) Famicom ost is peak but I thought it would throw off the immersion of the American version gameplay. Stay tuned for part 2
@@Imgoodurbadd Yeah I adore Symphony of the Night and the metroidvanias but I love Classicvania too ofc. I get what you mean about the ost though! Will definitely watch part 2 when you make it!
I haven’t tried legends because of the controversy. Was it due to the storyline of her and Dracula if I remember correctly? That game didn’t look appealing to me
@@Imgoodurbadd Its bad. Not as bad as the first game boy game but there is nothing of note about Legends. What controversy? The fact that Igarashi made it non-canon supposedly primarily because of a female Belmont? Its possible that interview or article mistranslated what he said. Its no big deal anyway. If anything, that game being non-canon is an objective win for women considering its low quality. Then again, there are hipsters who call themselves Christopher fans even though one of the games he appears in is awful.
@panthekirb7561 yeah poor Chris had one decent game castlevania 2 Belmont’s revenge(unless we count the adventure remake as well) I thought it was controversial from reading how Sonia and Alucard were romantically involved which is weird so they made it non canon because a Belmont and a vampire could never happen. I have to read more about it and maybe try the game out of curiosity
@@Imgoodurbadd The story implications are rather dumb. It would make Trevor into Alucard's grandson or something. Honestly its a shame that a lot of the canon retro Castlevania games are bad/mediocre. Castlevania 1, 2 and Adventure are all canon but Super Castlevania 4 is not. Rip.
@@panthekirb7561 Rondo of Blood is also canon and pretty much the best 16 bit one Though I dont really see the point of leaving 4 out of the canon. Isnt the story literally just the same as Castlevania 1?
I’m thankful the algorithm showed you this. Castlevania 3 easily my favorite in the series for the massive replay ability, music, partner system, and I’ve mastered the difficulty. So rewarding!
@@Imgoodurbadd Exactly! That's something that trully surprised me for a game of those years. When I noticed how broken ice spell was, it felt like being GOD jajaja
If CV3 came out modern day, they’d probably release a patch to nerf the shit out of grant and maybe increase ice spell usage to 5 hearts. The fact all of sypha’s spells cost 1 heart is insane
Yes Grant is just that good. He can pretty much climb on top of anything(he can also do the same in the first room of sunken city to skip the merman room underneath)
@@Imgoodurbadd yeah and i loved it such a good game tho the controls were a bit anoyoing still the platforming was so fun and the second game was even better
Hi there. Definitely not happy about that but I still love the show because it’s based off my favorite castlevania game.(my logic is maybe the writers thought people only beat the game with sypha and Alucard and never realized you can keep grant the whole game).
@@Imgoodurbadd At first it was supposed to be a movie, not a series, that's why they cut him. Then once they decided on a TV series they decided to leave him out anyway because he was considered irrelevant
Wow I didn’t know that. Thanks so much for the information. I think doing a tv series was the right decision for a better story and character development. I think they could’ve fit grant in an episode and have him show up for the finale or something
@@Imgoodurbadd I agree, but I think leaving him totally out was a good choice in the end. He would have been too much. There were the 3 main characters, Dracula, the Master Blacksmiths, the Vampire Sisters... in short, quite a few characters, maybe adding him would have taken away from the others, he wasn't necessary. And adding him just to have him at the end wouldn't have done him justice.
