Just discovered this type of card today. Maymay, as always you are so much fun to watch. I can't wait to make some cards like this. They are just adorable.
Maymay, I wish I had found this earlier! I am mostly doing DIN formats (European or "Deutsches Institut fuer Normung"). So I'm ever so happy when someone comes up with the FORMULA to create something rather than giving the actual measurements for a single card size. Thank you, this is so helpful!!
May May! How am i just finding you???? This is a three year old video and I cannot believe how long I have been making cards and had not ever made a Pop and Twist card!!! Thank you for making videos like this. The information is clear and easy to follow. Your directions are the best. Many, many Thanks!!!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank YOU SO MUCH!!!! You have NO IDEA how frustrated I've been with creating these pop and twist cards! I've been writing things down in centimeters (I found the instructions at first in DUTCH on Pinterest (No, I'm not Dutch, I don't speak Dutch, I don't know any Dutch persons, though I'm sure they're very lovely people LOL!)) and my goodness, there were just so many formulas and measurements that I then had to TRANSLATE and then convert... Maymay, I nearly cried SEVERAL times. This was a couple of months ago. Finally, last night, I was on Pinterest and I found the Twist-N-Pop cards, their names AND IT WAS IN ENGLISH, and I was like, "OMG. I WONDER IF MAYMAY HAS MADE THESE BEFORE". NOW IT MAKES SENSE! NOW IT DOESN'T SEEM AS DAUNTING! You have NO IDEA how much you've helped me with your videos, and I'm excited to look through your Pop&Twist playlist as well (I have that open in another tab). I finally feel like I can breathe while making these! So far I've already made like four, and I've made myself little diagrams and took notes while you spoke (I wish I could attach pictures on the youtube comment section so you could see all the little notes I've made LOL!), it's the educator in me. We take notes. We're teachers, it's what we do HA! But seriously. Thank you again, I cannot thank you enough for making this so easy and so achievable. I don't generally comment on videos, but I couldn't help myself this time. Sorry for the long note! Thank you again! Take care, stay safe and healthy!
Maymay you are a crafting genius I was hoping to buy a twist and pop die but now I don't have to I have made a twist and pop along with you thank you for taking time out to share your formula
MayMay that was the easiest tutorial I have found to help me make a twist and pop card. Thank you so much for sharing with us all the tips and tricks that make our crafting life so much easier and more enjoyable.
You are a lifesaver! I couldnt find the video I was watching and couldnt figure out how to install the middle part. Then I found your video. Everyone will be getting pop and twist cards from now on. Thank you for making it so simple
Love, Love, Love this card. I used your other video to make a birthday card for my nephew yesterday. It is going in the mail to him today! I'll try this method next time.
I had made this kind of card years ago at a stamping retreat, and even tho it frustrated me, I managed to make two more as special occasion cards. I had forgotten the directions and watched 3 other videos before finding this updated version form you today. Your way is by far the easiest and I like that I didn’t have to make an A2 size card for the process to work. I did need to slow the video down to half speed and rewind a good bit, but I did get a card made. Thank you for all your help!
I have been trying to figure out what kind of card to give a friend for her birthday and this has to be it!!! Thanks for the simple directions, now I don't have to try to find the die set I saw in another video to make them and I can make any size I want!!! I am so excited I could scream with joy.
THANK YOU! I have tried, and failed, so many times to do this! You have explained the mechanism in such a logical way, that I could now almost make these with my eyes closed. 😁 So grateful - thanks again. 🌞 xox🌱❤️🌿xox
Oh May-May!! Thank you so much for this pop and twist card tutorial! I’ve spent too much time looking for this card, was about to give up, and then I happened on your channel. Ya know, it’s the simple things in life that make it worthwhile, and I’m feel in’ right now! I’m working on a card for my darlin’ sister’s 60th and want it to be special. Thanks to your tutorial generosity, you’ve given me the boost I needed. Don’t mean to go overboard with my comment, but I’m an artist and have a passion for these things. Bless you! p.s. you should give lessons on how to do stress free, not too much extraneous chit-chatting, easy to understand tutorials! Thanks again.
I made one of these before. It was ugly and off. Yesterday I watched your video. Boy is it easier than any others I have watched! Thank you so much. I went on to make two mechanisms and they came out perfectly! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I wish I had seen your video before buying a die set. You made it look so easy and your method made a lot of sense without buying a die. At least now I can make bigger or smaller depending on what I want. Thank you so much.
Thank you!!! I love the pop and twist and I’ve followed other videos but they are more complicated and usually in centimeters and I didn’t know how to adapt it to other sizes! So appreciated!
Hey...came accross this video today...have been making this card from so long...all the time I ended up that I won't make this again...coz of measuremens nd not opening and closing properly...but u explained it so well...and end of the day tried this card with ur technique...it's easy to make now...this video was worth watching...Thanks a ton❤️❤️❤️...
The bigger one, that you kept saying you couldn’t imagine needing it that big, I made about a year and a half ago. It PERFECTLY holds a gift card on each inside panel!! For my SIL’s birthday I put four Starbucks gift cards inside, and everyone loved it! Four gift cards popping up at you makes a really fun gift! Thanks for sharing this tutorial. 💜
May may. Simply put you're amazing. You're clearconcise and spark creativity. And you're humble happy approach is admirable. Best to you and yours Cheers from California. Dave m
Thank you, you have finally taught me to make a pop and twist card. You directions are easy to understand and I was able to successfully make one. I’m also able to make any size card, Thank to this video. Thanks again.
I LOVE this idea! ❤ I took your suggestion and searched Pinterest for ideas and it is amazing how many ideas are out there. Thank you for this wonderful lesson.
i know Im randomly asking but does someone know a tool to log back into an instagram account? I somehow forgot the account password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me.
I know this is not a recent video, but I'm so glad I found it. You explain the logic and engineering so well. I have followed tutorials for these pop & twist cards before, but always felt I was in the dark about how they actually worked. I always wanted to understand - and now I do. Thank you so much!
What a great tutorial, Maymay!! I love formulas so that once I know the parameters, I can apply them and vary it however I want. Just what I've needed! And it's even more special seeing your video and hearing your voice because I met you when you came to Pigeon Forge TN. A great experience! God bless you.
So glad I found this. There is one that's from 3 yrs ago from another RU-vidr. I am creating a few cards and a memory album where I wanted to add some card features. This is perfect! The thin strip model is what I am going to use to place a strip of "clouds" on, and then balloons 🎈 over the clouds! Because the child loves balloons. The design on the inside of the card is going to be light blue to dark blue to give the idea of clouds floating up into the sky! 😀
ive made a few of these but all the same size from a template and they were so fiddly, this method is fabulous, i'll make far more of them now. thank you so much!!!
MayMay is the Queen of Cards! This is brilliant and you explained it so beautifully. Can’t wait to make one of these cards. I want to make several sizes and save these. Great Idea and loved the easy way you showed how to do this!
I am loving this pop and twist mechanism! Thanks for clearing up the dimensions. There is a British guy who has a book on paper mechanics (D. Birmingham) who explains this and your video brought it home. He cuts out the top of the point to reduce the bulk and glues it flat. I am making pop up cards like crazy! The hardest part now is assembling the rights papers patterns and stamps. So much fun!
Thanks Maymay. Someone, I can't remember who, snips off the tiniest bit of the tip of the "arrow" mechanism before putting it next to the fold of the card to help with the bulkiness. I love that you made this to make any size card. Have a great day.
You are a life saver! I watched other videos but didn't know how to make a card the size I wanted to go into my granddaughter's birthday castle album card. I have my supplies ready and am excited to get going on this portion of the album. Thank you soooo much. I appreciate your making the video to share with us.
Thank you so much for sharing this technique. I made this type card one other time and it was so hard and took a very long time to get it right. After watching your video it only took me a few minutes and worked perfectly. It opened and closed so smoothly. Thank you so much again!
I AM going to be making pop & twist cards like crazy. You’re a genius! Up until now they were just too complicated for me but, now, I’m definitely giving them a try as they’re the cutest cards ever. Thank you SO much!!!
Been wanting to figure out how to make one large enough to add inside a interactive mini album and this just made that process so much easier. Thank you!
