Many will say "why not just buy one?". Well, they'll end up keep buying one after another. Building it like you did will last a whole lot longer than any one sold at the store. I built a wood mill instead of buying one. Built it 15 years ago and still works like a charm. I love the detail you put into this project and keeping safety a factor.

This has to be one of the top saw builds I have seen!! This is a high end, expensive, dream saw that people would drool over from some well known company

You're a grandmaster, you have no idea how highly you're rated here. One Russian commented that such equipment as your workshop does not have his specialized company. Bravo, your mind, your head is power. I'm a little sorry just because some of your solutions require such instrumentation that it's impossible to copy them. However, I already have this saw on the wallpaper so far I have used abrasive discs, your solution is excellent. He used more metal for the chip collector drawer, than most manufacturers use for whole chopsaw. :) 👍 nice build!

Made in Poland You do great work. My father was a machinist and he learned from an old man from Europe (not Polnd I'm afraid, but he was an old-world craftsman who started his apprenticeship before WW2). One of the methods he taught my father was how to make prototype parts out of wood in order to quickly and cheaply test for fit and function before commiting to steel. I'm not sure if you do that or not, but if you do I think it would be interesting for younger people to see that process.

I’m a plasterer by trade but second of all I love working with wood as my dad is a carpenter..........my point being, when I see this guy it makes me realise I need to get Into some fabrication with metal. This was beautifully done mate brilliant watch 👍🏻👍🏻

Superb workmanship. I like the fact that you built it heavy. I did something similar when I built my square wheel grinder. I used very heavy steel so when it is used there is no vibration. All that extra weight absorbs all vibrations. Hope you finish painting the remaining surfaces. A good machine like that deserves it. Well done. Have fun, be safe.

Nice job. For Cold-Saw 2.0 you should add variable speed to the motor to slow it down a bit. Also add inexpensive mist coolant to the blade or a stream of coolant and put the machine over a coolant recovery tub. The blade will last much longer if it has coolant. You should never see sparks come from that type of blade. If the steel chips are blue in color, it's rotating too fast.

How about an electro-magnetic chip collector that catches flying particles when powered and drops them into the chip tray when down-powered? Seems that many particles are not caught because they bounce back out of the collector.

DIY ME: THAT DUDE IS A MASTER CRAFTSMAN. I only wish I could do that. Lol.
