Does anyone else feel the need to do spring cleaning around this time of year? I love keeping a closet full of items I love and part of maintaining that is to stay on top of a healthy cycle of clothes coming in and out. It's so satisfying having a closet where I can see & love everything I own! I hope this video is helpful to make this process simplified, intentional, and less stressful. Yes!! The child of an immigrant mentality is so hard to fight!! Our parents had so little we never threw anything away and though my mom and grandma never berated me for throwing clothes away it's still so hard to do it I saw how hard my mom worked to put clothes in our back and yes we did wear questionable hand me downs from family overseas!!! 🤭🤭🤭

I totally understand the mindset of where they are coming from, immigrating with so little and not wanting to waste anything so I don't hold it against them. Thankfully my mom doesn't have the same mentality now after needing to purge items herself before moving states. But it's SO NICE hearing that others have had a similar experience of the guilt of letting things go passed down from that generational trauma!

I love these tips Jen! As a fellow sub 5 footer, I relate to holding onto clothes because I can't find thing that fit. I try to declutter my closet once a year because I love to go shopping, but I don't need so much clothes. I've also toned down on the amount of things I buy, and now I try to only buy things that I love, is not fast fashion, is good material, and is something I either need or have been wanting for months. I also want to learn how to use a sewing machine well so I can either make my own clothes or hem/tailor the clothes I already have

Something that also works great for me is to change my hair and makeup for different types of clothes. This is only if you have a day or two to try things on and decide if you like them. I’ll go through casuals first with everyday makeup (or none) and then do my hair and makeup for my nicer clothes. This helps me soooo much with deciding on if I’ll actually wear something/ how to or if I can style it

Thank you for this! My parents were the exact same way growing up😮‍💨. Starting this year, my friends and I do cleaning parties and it is so helpful. We take turns going through each other's closets to help declutter. It really helps to have second opinions when we get indicisive about if certain clothes are worth keeping. Plus, if there's something one of us doesn't want anymore, someone else can take it! Love your videos!❤️❤️❤️

From Head To Toe: If you love a piece that "kind of" fits, get it *altered*. Totally worth the investment if you will wear it and it fits perfectly. I have to do this with pants to make them shorter all the time.

I love LB! I got a few items from them recently and love the style and just overall feel of the fabric, it feels very luxurious. There was one item that I did have to return and since then I have been very leary about their measurements. When looking at the measurements it can be a little confusing. How were you able to choose your size for some of their clothing?

I went off the sizing chart (which you need to size up for compared to US sizing) but the only thing is that some of the waist sizes are verrrry exact so you might size up even more if you tend to fluctuate a lot. Each item has pretty extensive item measurements though, so I look at each individual item's sizing and choose.

Ooh I’m gravitating to rules 1-3. For number 4, I don’t know how to adapt it for me. it’s hard because I work in a research lab so I usually have a lab coat on so im always projecting “Science!”

I actually do have a Poshmark account but I haven't sold anything on it yet! Do you have any platforms you recommend selling on? I usually sell to consignment stores, but this time I was actually thinking of using Poshmark. :)

@@frmheadtotoe I HIGHLY recommend Mercari, it's where I sell all of my decluttered items; and there's something about it that feels a little more communal than Poshmark or Depop, at least to me.

Great video!! I would love to know how to take care of your clothing items that are made of wool and other materials that require hand wash. I love those materials but sometimes it holds me back to buy them because of the care instruction 🥲
