But you don't need a silicone loaf mold insert just to make beautiful soap that releases easily from the mold! Join us while Lia demonstrates how to line a wooden loaf mold with freezer paper (sometimes also called butcher paper). This will work for any sturdy mold, and with parchment paper as well!
Learn how to use paper to protect your soap loaf molds, slab molds and any other flat-sided mold! This technique can be used for most types of mold, as long as they have sturdy sides that go straight up and down.
We include step-by-step instructions on how to score your freezer paper for folding, trim the excess paper and fasten it securely in place.
Freezer paper is what we recommend for lining molds. However, if you only have parchment paper, this strategy works very similarly. You just may find a difference in the performance of the paper, as parchment will sometimes wrinkle in ways that freezer paper doesn't.
