For those who do not know what a 6/8 groove is, it is a compound triple meter in which each rhythm or melody is played in 6 beats/pulses subdivided in two. Therefore, the emphasis is on the 1st and 4th pulse. These are usually named as 1 & 2. In other words, instead of counting 1 2 3 4 5 6, one may count it as 1 2 3 2 2 3 or 1 & a 2 & a. Hope this helps. Just a tiny lesson for anyone learning rudiments.
