Certainly there's shades of Alabama in this Toby Keith pre-stardom single and he had a pretty good sound going with his band back then which indeed looks to be the mid-eighties on the evidence of the fashion and hairstyles of the band-members.
Thanks for posting this! I have the 45 for this song but no record player to play it on anymore! I remember when The Easy Money Band would play at this bar called Triple R. Me and a few of my girlfriends would part with them afterwards. Good times!!!
These group of guys played on and off for over 10 years in Oklahoma and Texas and recorded a bunch of songs that sound great My cousin is second from the right and went thru a lot of hard times as did all these guys playing for peanuts as they helped Toby hone his craft and stage presence. I have tapes of a lot of their stuff that i enjoy listening to. The music industry is really cutthroat and talked Toby into getting rid of this band and hiring musicians that were friends of the label. Toby grateful that he was signed did not argue and has never looked back at his friends that played with him for over 10 years helping him and sacrificing their time hoping to make it big. Toby is on route to becoming a billionaire and has helped out many charities while most of these guys just have memories . Toby is a real nice guy and these guys have enjoyed watching Toby get bigger than they would have ever thought possible. I would have liked to see my cousin stay in the band and ride it with Toby but the record label has a big influence over newly signed artist .
+Project KJ Absolutely!!!!! The kindest soul I have ever known.... I will miss everything about him.... I was a lucky one to have him all of my 38 1/2 years...... The best cousin ever..... What I would give to see his beautiful face, those rosy cheeks, beautiful eyes, smile, and his laugh..... I'll never forget the sounds of him laughing....😢
I was just telling someone, I have about 10 cousins but there was only one I loved very much and that was Mike - your description of him is spot on. I wish I had visited more often. He left a beautiful family.
+Project KJ Oh, so you know exactly how it feels..... Although you didn't get to see him often, one thing is for sure. He loved you as if he seen you daily... There's so many things that made Mike amazing.... But, his unconditional love he gave was just that, unconditional and amazing.... And his forgiving heart was another.... The list literally goes on and on.... People who weren't blessed enough to know Mike, well, quote frankly missed out and have absolutely no idea..... And those of us blessed to know him, to love him, and to be loved back by him, well we are the blessed ones..... Take care KJ, and know he loved you, because that's what he did..... He loved....😘
