You know, when he talked about the Mera Mera no Mi and the Magu Magu no Mi, I remembered doing some research about fires that are hotter than magma and I learned that even if some flames can be hotter depending on the fuel source, it can still be cut off from it’s source of oxygen if it’s smothered by the magma. So either way Ace would have been at a disadvantage.
So does fire just kinda lose out just for being in the state of matter it’s in? I’m not in college, but I’ve heard it’s plasma or whatever, meaning it’s probably not as dense as magma being like physical earth that’s been cooked around the center or sum ish right?
@@ssj9devil yeah Magma is liquid Rock. It is just an inherently extremely hot substance but it is also a solid substance. Whereas fire, even if it's even hotter than the magma, can be snuffed out by it in the same way that if you put a ceramic pot over a candle it'll get snuffed out that way too. The Magma can just smother the fire to extinguish it, where all that fire can do is make the magma even hotter.
Imagine being a Devil Fruit User and out of nowhere the apple you were eating turns into a Devil Fruit right when you are about to bite into it... Dumbest and unluckiest way possible to die.
Perhaps the fruit still has to be on the tree/vine? In order to transform? Perhaps a picked fruit is unable to become a df. Cause then why not a fruit that's been chopped up and eaten already? I think the fruit must be intact.
Desire is a very important thing in OP. Greed is power. And what Lucci said stuck with me. What if a person only dies if they DESIRE a second power? It wouldn't work if someone was forced to eat a second fruit, because that person had no desire, so the power would just leave them.
If that works at the very least BB would be rocking 10+ abilities right now, not to mention the WG must have force feed multiple fruits into the same person (prisoners,slaves) in experiments for hundreds of years due to Saturn having no qualms about human experimentation.

I'd like to assume that if someone came along and had a strong enough force of will and actually ate two fruits at once AND was somehow mentally comparable with both "souls" of the fruit if you will, that it wouldn't just give you both powers but maybe fused them into one power. Maybe even permanently so that if the fruit goes back into circulation the fused fruit would stay that way. Like your sheer will is what got the fruits to agree so to speak.

People who believed in Nika which never existed on Earth but probably existed in some type of universe and he became true as a devil fruit. Now the only thing I'm curious about is, can spirit inside of those devil fruits move freely? or are they forever stuck in a certain fruit? Because I also had this idea that also flopped, that devil fruits spirit actually move through every fruit until they have been eaten by the "right" person or at least a person who had the strong desire of having this fruit. Funnily enough I actually think Oda's food poisoning answer might actually be the more common case of what happens when an experienced devil fruit user either by accident, poisoning, or on purpose the more entrenched devil fruit wins out causing the user to "explode" in a style not unlike an episode at Taco Bell! Either way its probably not a very good sight to behold either way...
I was thinking the same thing if an ordinary person ate a second devil fruit they would die but Luffy, Kaido and maybe even Law/Kid would get incredibly sick and stuck on the toilet for about a day or at most a couple of days but they would survive and the devil fruit would be reincarnated or maybe if only a small piece of the fruit was eaten the power would stay in the same fruit so someone could still eat it and get its power.
Two things... the SBS question did not state that the person eating Luffy was a Devil Fruit user. Second part is Oda did this with Big Mom... she did not get food poisoning but did get the Devil Fruit.
SBS answer probably means rubber is poisonous when put into digestive system. Or simply because the residue of the poison which Luffy had been exposed to.

I could absolutely see the WG supplying Caesar Clown with two devil fruits and some pirate set for execution and told him to test what happens. And then CC selling the devil fruits for cash to party, simply killing the pirate, and telling the WG it made the pirate explode

I would not trade darkness for light. OP as light seems, darkness has zero problem swallowing it up. Black hole. Dark matter. Dark energy. That last one is the opposite of gravity. Hard concept to grasp. You’d think it just meant no gravity.
My guess has always been that the result of eating two is a life-threatening illness that *can* result in an explosive death, but if the eater is strong enough, then they can reject the 2nd fruit by means of "ejection" (use your imagination). As for whether Haki matters, I'm not sure. The fact that Roger died from illness means that not everything can be overcome with Haki. I *want* to assume that the Will of the Fruit can be fought with an eater's own Haki, but the philosophy of Koby's training from Garp (and its results) suggests that un-augmented physical strength matters just as much as Haki and it could be a situation where one needs a special kind of physical makeup to even contain 2 devil fruit powers; let alone *use* them.
Oda has left so much about Devil Fruits purposely vague to not box himself in or limit himself that it sometimes hurts the story IMO. For example we still do not know how an inanimate object gets a Devil Fruit (I think Blackbeard put the Gura Gura No Mi into a ring). Since we have seen inanimate objects with devil fruit powers, we have never seen someone with a Devil Fruit using one of those objects either... it would otherwise be akin to magic items in Dungeons and Dragons. But would it be possible for someone to have multiple Devil Fruits by having multiple items with Fruit powers? Who knows... it is up to Oda.
Is the ring "eating" it or the animal in the ring? Could have the same result as when Big Mom ate Mother Carmel or it goes boom. Either way we will find out the secret sooner or later. @@NeutralGuyDoubleZero
I think in addition to having strength and deep connection with your DF, you also need to find the right match. Magma and Ice will explode but Magma and Wax works well together. It's the same idea for the "Fusion Shots" from Slugterra.
I like to imagine you can't force feed a second devil fruit the first time yes but for a second time you must have the desire to eat it. "A price for GREED"
What if the line about Teach's body being strange has to do with his Lineage Factor. I keep seeing people mention a DF alters one's Lineage Factor. Like if you eat two, your body breaks down at a genetic level. Not so much exploding, but melting due to editing their Lineage Factor. Sweet Magical Science to answer all our questions! Also, what if Green Blood doesn’t necessarily work the way DF work. Like Green Blood doesn’t blow you up DF style. His food poisoning bit was about Walpole eating Luffy, iirc. So, one person with a Devil Fruit eating another person with a Devil Fruit. Obviously Big Mom didn't have a Devil Fruit, and thus there was no risk with her eating Mother Caramel.
Teach may have gained the only possible body that can withstand more of one fruit via the only fruit that would allows it. You can eat two devil fruits, provided that the first one is the yami yami. Something something darkness stuff, i don't know, but my personal opinion is that his fruit is the reason, somehow.
@@mattia_carciola I think Blackbeard always has the ability take care of multiple powers. Yami Yami no Mi is used to extract the power from dying user. That's why he most desired devil fruit was the Yami Yami no Mi. Because with this power, he can hunts down any power he desires. And his crews seem to be the only pirates hunting devil fruit user, because this mechanism works only with Yami Yami no Mi.

I kind of think it's more like a mixture of your theory and Oda's joke answer, for example Kaido gets fed the Duck duck fruit, however due to him being so powerful all that happens is his body refuses it and either throws it up with it not being able to be digested causing pain similar to food poisoning and for it to transfer over.
Something I have thought about is that, to be testing the effects of 2 devil fruits Vega punk would need to give some one (presumably a prisoner) a devil fruit and then have them eat a second. Which would be a reasonable position to equip them with sea stone hand cuffs. But if eating 1 devil fruit makes you completely incapable of swimming and weakened when in water, could it be that eating 2 just makes you violently allergic to the ocean. If so it would have caused prisoners cuffed by sea prism to just die. Just a theory of mine
That's a very interesting take, but what if we take it further. What if that increased weakness to water makes your own body poisonous to itself and the explosion is the result of the water in your body violently rejecting the other components.

Well even without his Devil Fruit...Kaido is a Super Freak of Nature so I feel like he has higher chance of living after eating two Devil fruits. The other possibility I can think of is maybe by doing his both Devil Fruits get destroyed for good and don't reincarnate back into the world again.
I assume that maybe when you eat a second devil fruit you puke it out and get some extreme diarrhea in a sense you "explode" and then rumours started to spread around which led to what we know right now
just something to remember, devil fruits taste like shit, literally, so someone that already ate a devil fruit would be able to detect the terrible taste and spit out a "sneak" devil fruit on their food. Also correct me if i'm wrong, but the times Kaido was captured by the Marine was when he wasn't a Yonkou, so he wasn't that big of a threat for the Marines and WG to go as far as to use a DF to kill him.
My crackpot theory is that the reason eating a second fruit kills you is that it puts a 3rd soul into your body and if they don't get along, which as devils they probably never will especially if either is a strong fruit, they would constantly fight both each other and you expending your body's energy and trying to kill you to get out and away from eachother. So the reason everyone who's eaten 2 has died is that they couldn't tame even 1 devil let alone 2. I wonder if maybe there's a stage beyond Awakening that lets you control your devil enough that you could, through sheer overwhelming force mind you and probably advanced conqueror's haki users only, force them to get along. This could be how Blackbeard absorbed another fruit as we saw with dark liberation he likely awakened his fruit immediately and with his expansive knowledge of his fruit and strange body could control his devil enough to also absorb Whitebeards awakened fruit. Random thought but it's fun to think about.
We know a couple of things from Vegapunks research. 1. Zoans can be produced as fruits, see Momo's. 2. Paramecias are transmitted via blood (green blood) 3. Logias are really complicated. BB has 1 Paramecia and 1 Logia. I'd like to think he wants Luffy's Zoan to complete his powers. I'd like to think it is possible to have 1 of each category, or at least a combinations of them. Like Paramecia is a category you can combine with the others. This would explain why they would not use it to kill someone, even CP9 did not know what the powers would be, ergo it would make it a waste to give the fruit to Kaido, if he would be soapy afterwards. Also a funny what-if scenario - Kaku turns into a soap guy and Kalifa would be a giraffe :))
I have an idea: what if the explosion part was true, but Blackbeard was able to get more than one power because of the Will of D? The D might mean "Devil", "Dreamer", or maybe even "Desire", which could explain why the WG wants the Will of D to be kept hush hush.

Oh my god I just figured it out the Yami Yami no Mi spawned into existence after Rocks defeat and death by the hands of Grap and Rodger. Rocks Will was reincarnated into a brand new fruit. Then rocks wanted to test Blackbeard so he allowed Thatch to eat the fruit to see if Blackbeard had the resolve to kill a comrade.
The only other example of spontaneous combustion is Saturn's ability which could mean its haki related like the will of the two friuts is to much for the vessel...which could explain why we don't see two friuts in objects either

We know Blackbeard's darkness fruit has a weird effect where the suction can touch the physical form of DF users. Maybe he can apply that on himself to keep himself from exploding? He'd have to always be conscious for that but we know he doesn't sleep. Would also explain how he gets physically damaged when hit despite being a logia. The rule applies to him too
Its probably a criteria thing where you need a majority combination of: 1. Strong haki/conqueror's 2. Devil fruit Compatibility 3. The two DFs have to be of differing in type e.g. a logia + paramecia or zoan +logia, etc. If we go along the lines of No. 3, you could well enough consume and have the power of 3 devil fruits. Mind-body-spirit theory.
Yeah im pretty sure blackbeard didn't eat the second fruit I reckon he absorbed it into his darkness like with black hole and he just has not done liberation. Its just trapped in his pocket dimension in stasis which just gives him the power cause where else is it gonna go. Its like eating mother caramel just with his power rather than his stomach.
For a while I remember I chose to take the "you explode" part literally, thinking Luffy would be able to eat an extra fruit because his rubber like body would just expand with the explosion and go back to normal, in looney toons fashion (and at least in that I was right)
It shouldn't be a surprise that we met so many strong characters with conqueror's haki because it's not that they have conqueror's haki because they are strong, but it's that they are strong because they have conqueror's haki

I always assumed a user's body would reject an attempt to eat another devil fruit and they'd be compelled to spit it out immediately before it kicked in. Thus you couldn't consume another one by accident, you'd have to actively force yourself to swallow it and deal with whatever consequences happened.

it would not shock that alot of the silver medallists that attempted to kill Whitebeard alluded to by Crocodile in the Impel Down Arc had plans to attempt to make Newgate to have a second devil fruit in the hopes of killing him.
@Tekking101 I have had a thought. If DC's Lantern Corps or the the Lantern Rings were in the One Piece Universe, who would get which Lantern Ring and why? I think there would be a plethora of Green Lanterns solely because of strong Haki users like Shanks and Luffy. And probably any Green Lantern (Jon Stewart, Hal Hordan, Kyle Rayner, Guy Gardner) could take down suppress Devil Fruit powers because their main usage is Willpower.
I could see one way for the question to come up again once they've escaped egghead, if Kuma's fruit does reincarnate on the Sunny. Luffy would probably try to offer the fruit to Bonney, same way he wanted to get Ace's DF once he realized it was in Dressrosa. And Bonney just goes "Thanks, but I can't use it, since I already have a power, and he'd want it to go towards helping you guys, so you can choose someone to give it to." And with Vegapunk also there he could confirm the dangers of eating more then one.
I honestly thought because black beard can cancel powers with his first fruit he just can have a 2nd if he just shuts off his own power he is like a normal human so he was able to get a 2nd

Feeding someone a devil fruit to kill them would be kinda stupid tho unless its crappy devil fruit cuz your losing a power user at least until the fruits reincarnate which u might not get them back.
I'm thinking type matters most, baiscally you can't eat two zoans fruits becoming a cat dog. However certain combinations like tremor and darkness fruits are compatible because their different categories and one empowers the other. Short of like dual typing in pokemon.
I wonder if Blackbeard somehow (maybe with the Yami Yami no mi) was able to put the other devil fruit into just his arm, have we ever seen him use the Quake ability in any other part of his body or only that one hand? Probably not the case but just a theory. Also what about feeding fruits to inanimate objects? Has that been elaborated on?

The devil fruit doesn't dissappear when you eat it and you can get the power from just a tiny little nibble so I wonder what happens if you take a bite out of the fruit and then die. Would the power go back into the fruit resulting in it being slightly used or would it just go into a new fruit
I feel like the Tenryūbito would feed slaves two devil fruits to see what would happen. Since we haven't seen that yet, it probably proves that you can't eat two.
maybe but what about devil fruit fusion right, yes the user die when they eat 2 devil fruits but when they die a third one is made, just look at sugars devil fruit, aging stopped, power to wipe memories and turn people into objects, some one could have been fed or ate the op op fruit, memo memo fruit and lets toss the art art fruit to turn people into objects, the person dies 4th fruit joins the cycle/ is created
Yeah, I was a bit unsure about the devil fruit experiment on Bonny too, since if it was before she was born the term fetus or embryo would have been more correct, its like the difference between magma and lava, a baby is technically not a baby until its born, even if most parents use the term baby before birth, Saturn I would think being a scientist and above normal humans should be the person to not use the term baby incorrectly, or it can just be translation error I guess 😅🤷♂
It's also possible that a second devil fruit would be automatically regurgitated by the body, and only trying to forcefully keep it down would cause death
Theory: the giant onigashima Skull is an ancient weapon (when it was alive and the body was still attatched) that odens dad told Robin about, and the rest of its body is under the original wano. Shinobu will reverse the age age of the giant and bring it back to life, and when the wano borders are open and the sea level drops again is when Shinobu will revive the onigashima And the onigashima continent puller will Smash the red line. (The red line is the only continent, and onigashima is the continent puller, maybe onigashima built the red line cause the gorosei are kind of demonic looking too like the onigashima giant. Also side note but who else could swing the giant onigashima katana but the onigashima giant? Great video. In my opinion I think you have to get rid of devil fruit users with pure strength especially logia users because they are so strong I do not think it is going to be minimal effort in that. Unless you are a scientist like Vegapunk and Ceaser. I think the information Blueno gave is false because Blackbeard proved he can have more than one devil fruit without exploding but at the same time we have not seen a character yet having more than one devil fruit and exploding as a result. I think Blueno is using that as a scare tactic.
This is probably an incredibly wrong idea but listening to Tekking gave me an idea on how the Jacket-Jacket Fruit could actually be good, so hopefully he'll see this and make a video on it. What if the user of the Jacket Fruit was incredibly good at something, this could be Haki or sword fighting, and when he is worn by someone that is far less skilled he can use his abilities to train the body of the one being worn. A powerful Armament Haki user could mass train weaker marines in unlocking their potential in Haki, as their body as learned how it works through being used.
The way I see it is that you explode no matter what, but someone so physically strong like Kaido wouldn't be damaged so much. We know that the individual explodes but we don't know how big is that explosion afaik.
There must be so much more about this topic that we didn't know about which makes killing a top tier with it impossible, I have a few crack theories myself: 1. Top tier Haki can negate abilities being used on them, so maybe the ability inheritance will also be interrupted the same way, and the result being the ability will instantly reincarnated into a fruit elsewhere leaving to consumer of the fruit with nothing but a mouth full of awful tasting fruit. 2. Since some fruit have wills of their own, maybe they manipulated reality so that this can't happen in the first place. 3. Similar to the first the user's Haki suppressed the second ability from taking effect and thus not exploding, but the fruit ability also can't reincarnate, and thus all they were left with is one less (very expensive) fruit. That is all I got for now, we will see if Oda would explain sooner or later, but he must explain before the end of the tale though, I am sure.
Green blood would probably not work, if we think about it a devil fruit is more similar to an antenna or receptor (or a demon contract) for power than the power itself, as soon as it is eaten the left over fruit turns useless and the "signal/authority/contract" of the ability gets transfer to the first consumer, that is why abilities can't be cloned easily and only one ability user or devil fruit can exist at the same time in the world. Green blood seems to be sub-contracts to me, similar to credit cards having one main account holder and multiple sub accounts, the green blood user gets reception from the ability by fooling the system/devil into thinking they were the contract signer by having their blood and lineage factor inside them, if the ability user dies all the green blood associated to them will also turn powerless. Therefore if an ability user has a green blood transfer the "signal/contract" from the main fruit will overwhelm the secondary making it ineffective.
So we talked about different personalities with Blackbeard being a possibility as to why he has multiple devil fruits, that and he has a weird body. Kaido has his different drunk personalities and also has a strong body belonging to a different race. The government themselves may not know that is the case but the Gorosei could know that some individuals have a body that allows it or about the multiple personality thing. So why would they ever risk it because imagine trying to kill Kaido with another devil fruit but instead he now has two devil fruits. Also there’s theories about devil fruits having willpower and they seek out people that have the same dream that the fruit allows. Well some people have multiple dreams and can carry multiple Wills with them from other people. What if that also plays into it?
If there was a way to eat multiple devil fruits, I feel that the gorosei would just hoard it, if only to deny the random chance that some pirate gets it. Also, remember that Perospero already said that Big Mom was weak to poison because he was worried that she was eating a random cake.
