This compartment can be a little tricky to deal with. Here's an alternative method. Mine comes off much easier if I remove one side first, rather than trying both sides. Samsung Model WA40J3000AW/AA
FINALLY! I have been trying to get this tray out of my washer for a year and figured I might as well check RU-vid - found your video and it’s now all clean. The amount of gunk and or mold was alarming under the tray. Now I know exactly how to get it out so it can be cleaned monthly.
Thank you so much! Poured detergent in the wrong tray and wanted to make sure it wasn't gonna ruin the machine. Can't belive how much better your method is than the actual user manual for this thing lol
Thank you soooo much for this video!! Taking the tray out by unhooking each side one at a time worked for me!!! After many years, I am finally able to clean the trays and behind the trays!
I have to complete you on your video. I couldn't figure it out for the life of me. Now I got it out & it all cleaned. Putting it back in was easier than taking it out. Thank you! 👍
Tried the method of squeezing both sides before I watched your video. Just like you said, I couldn’t get it to come out no matter how hard I tried. Tried your method and voila, it worked. Thank you so much!
I never could figure it out before watching this. We have a glass top one Samsung and when I got the drawer out, I saw little wheels in the corners on ours. Yours does not but it didn’t matter because all the other components of my drawer are exactly like yours. I was stunned at the softener build up. The detergent tray was clean but the softener was all built up. Plus the cavity where the drawer inserts was pretty bad too. I cleaned the cavity out with Lysol wipes and cleaned the drawer and drawer inserts with hot water and soap. The drawer popped out just like yours when I did it as instructed in your video and it popped right back in. Thank you!!!
Thank you for this video!! I have a new Samsung and am washing a load and forgot my fabric softener...BUT added detergent to the softener tray!!! Couldn't remove trays using the other video example. You're a life saver! Now back to fixing my mess! ;)
Thank you!!! My fabric softener would no longer dispense, but I didn't know it needed to be cleaned. Wow, what a lot of gunk! But it means so much to me not to have to make a service call just for this.
I was overwhelmed with this task. Read the book but couldn’t get it done. Your video saved the day. Followed instructions and was able to complete the job without problems. Many thanks to you!!
Whew! Thank you! lol. It's been years since I bought this machine and I've never been able to clean all the parts thoroughly until today! I always felt like my fingers weren't strong enough, or that I'd break the plastic, so I gave up and worked around the locking mechanisms (not effective in the long run, at all😐). I tried the manual and other videos in the past , but to no avail. I thought I'd try again today and here we are: I clearly just needed your intuitive mechanical mojo magnificence! Seriously, I'm so grateful you uploaded this video. I finally got to get the gunk out🤢🤮
Thanks so very much. Had no idea what was happening to block my softener dispenser. Then, I couldn't remove it to clean it. Your video saved a LOT of time. Drawer removal was easy. And thanks for the tip of cleaning the area that housed the drawer too!
Thank you so much. I have a Midea Washer, and the tray is virtually identical to the one in your Samsung, and your method works perfectly. This was extremely helpful.
Thank you SO MUCH for this! I have been fighting with this thing for years and doing your method was so easy that I basically did the, "Really....😐" face. Tytyty
Thanks so much I’ve had my washer for almost 10 years now and I’m just learning how to take this out so thank you so so much. I’ve been cleaning it with a toothbrush lol now I can clean it better.
I found that cleaning the blue fabric softner tray insert of the pull out drawer to clean the inside of the dispensing tube in the middle it was pretty convenient to use a good ol' Qtip to get all the residue fabric softner as well as cleaning in-between all the cracks and crevices.
Thank you thank you. I accidentally put the detergent in the softener tray. Since this isn't my machine I'm not trying to break anything nor hear what sounds like breakage. Very Helpful :-):-)
That really helped me to remove the tray but now I can’t get it back in. Tried to follow your instructions but I can’t get the tray back in. Now what do I do. HELP!
I just bought a set of Samsung washer and dryer and the trays were used unfortunately... So I am breaking the washing machine down to deep clean it because it has a layer of buildup on it. My question to you and everyone else here in the comments is- What will best clean the build-up off of the tray and the place where the tray slides into?
Does anyone know why my fabric softener dispenser releases all softener the second I push the tray back in? Is this how it’s supposed to function? I have the same tray in this video, but swear it didn’t behave this way originally, plus it’s ruining my clothes.
I did that to mine spot less clean but the fabric softener still doesn’t go into the washer when washing it stays in the tray while the Detergent tray is empty
