Great job Phil. You cleaned that up nicely. It's a much better approach to clean the carbon first, before you inject any power. The carbon damage stays at a minimum that way imho.
Yepyepyep I know mate, still was a gut punch doing it lol.the only reason was because I started a new job to get myself off government benifits and didn't realise I get paid monthly which was very awkward to find out. But rest assured my first pay I'll be getting another one
"Here's one I made earlier" is from Blue Peter, not Art Attack! But yes, loved Art Attack as a kid - Neil Buchanan is an absolute legend. Did you know he's in a metal band?
Maybe I'm just showing my age, but "here's one I made earlier" was Blue Peter... Usually involving an old school fairy liquid bottle and sticky back plastic.
love how you go through everything and never give up only just found your chanel but i will be looking through your old and looking forward to your new videos
Just a piece of advice. Before you power the board. First check the board thoroughly under microscope. Check the resistances on the power lines. Or critical datalines. (The ones often fail) Just to prevent further damages by turning the equipment ON. That gives you a clue if there is something major going ON. If you are fixing the same boards. Just record the resistances on a good equipment. Every day is a school.
Bro, strange how I've just ended up randomly on your video. I was the guy that commented on the Saudi post, and you suggested I add a loop. I'm repairing donor boards, and came across your video and noticed the name. Small world. I'm in Dudley, your accent sounds localish. Going to drop you an email.
Art Attack! Now there's a show i've not heard of since I was a kid. It was a popular show even here in Canada. 👍 Awesome fix also! So exciting to see that thing come back to life after all that sorting out. ✌
An actual UV light could hurt your eyes. But a video of a UV light on a monitor? LOL. The camera might actually pick up UV, but it's 1) not encoded into the video signal, and 2) even if it was, your monitor can't output UV anyway.
i know you focus highly on consoles but i have a decent laptop that spent over a year in a computer repair shop and the guy couldn't fix if your interested in trying let me know original problem was it had tea spilt on the keyboard but occasionally it will still turn on for about 30 seconds so its not dead
Another great video! Out of curiosity what software did you use to review the health of the SSD, also if the SSD was bad did you have any videos on how to resolve that?
great F**king job sir !!!! can you suggest some budget solder heat gun and irons that are decent at a cheap price, i want to get into fixing things myself
The series X motherboard are married to the disc drive and maybe the secondary pcb too, right? So wouldn't these boards just be parts if you dont have the other components?
I have watched a few of your vids after they found they just popped into my feed and I must say I enjoyed them shout-out to art attack I remember that show but I think it was the show blue Peter that said here's what I made earlier I might be wrong haven't checked but I'm 90% positive and yes I have hit the subscribe button and now it's broken 🤣
What would you recommend to start on as a beginner in electronics repair? I have hot air , soldering iron , hotplate , but have no idea where to start :)
By all means mate. If you want to book it in at www.consolefix.co.uk/book-your-repair you'll be able to send it over to me for repair. It sounds like it's overheating. For that I'd charge £50 plus the return postage costs
i bet its over heating friends ps5 does this fromt ime to time this time i need to take the fan out and clean it really good instead of just running high pressure air through it
Interesting, I did order a few hundred mosfets for them today but it's the first one I've had myself. It'll be good to have the mosfets on hand if it's a common failure point:)
@@TheCod3r ya I did the same lol. It’s was funny I had like 4 in a row about 3 months ago but only a few since. The hard core gamers seem to be more effected lol.
