I know that when people imagine jazz being played they usually picture an urban environment. But do you think there is anything inherently urban about the music itself? For people who tend to dislike jazz, I think a common reason is the dissonant notes. But anyone who loves city life has learnt how to appreciate, to some extent at last, the discord of the place, sonically and otherwise.
