Freestyle trickjumping on Q2DM1.
I’ve always desired to produce a compilation video of some of the best tricks on the map, there is a lot of never-before-seen tricks and variations as well.
The idea for the level design comes from “The Broken Edge” remake, which was created by DIRTY & DeAdLy[BITCH]es a long time ago. That map has then been heavily modified by ZEROSIGNAL for the purposes of this project. Combined with atmospheric music and a cinematic intro, this version of The Edge is a breath of fresh air in a game that celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Special thanks to ZEROSIGNAL and Draxi for their help and support.

This is soooo clool ! ! And... This video like allusion on quake franchise in modern time. The empty map symbolizes absence players in MP games; a lonely marine like a last players who still remember the Quake; ruines, dark atmosphere adn sad music symbolizes a position Quake in modern game industry :"D

Thanks for the credit, n00k1e. Wow... What memories... I had fun making "The Broken Edge" as well as many others back then. I used to go by both DeAdLy[BITCH] and Battle[BITCH] in those days. This made my day! You all did the map justice. I love it. Thanks for sharing.

Not a lot of things impress me, even in defrag with some of pro player runs. you, fine sir, just fucking obliterated all of that with some of best editing and some of the dopest things i saw in quake 2, bless your soul.

Yes that is correct, rocketjumps are a lot more random in q2 so that makes it a lot more difficult to time it all for a combo trick

On the plus side you can get really creative with ramp and multijumps. It's a very vertical movement even without weapons

The Edge is not dead. If I had monies, I would built a 1:1 Edge in real world...Quake 2 would become very popular out of a sudden. But...then, there would have to be rules...and consequences. 🙂on second thought...I would be killed or poisoned and sb else would take over for a blink of an eye...the kingdom has to be built elsewhere.
