The Edge of the World - Coconino National Forest

I decided to drive 23 miles of rough forest road to get to my next campsite. This is The Edge of the World. Look it up on google maps, just south of Flagstaff, Arizona. The road is looong and rough, but WOW, are the views worth it.

I cannot recommend that your tow a trailer this far into the forest. But I do totally recommend that you visit this place once in your life. This is the edge of the Mogollon Rim north of Sedona.

Bex the smile on your face while walking down the trail to show us the first glimpse of the view was the prettiest and widest l've even seen. Someone commented about being childlike...that's a wonderful comment & exactly your emotional state of being. Thanks for all your hard work making these. This is another good one. 😁

I noticed that also. It looked like someone was chopping it down with all the chips on the ground. Plus the rot. I wouldn't have slept there, one good wind and your a gonner.

I check it out and it seemed pretty stout! Also, most trees are knocked down in storms, and I checked the weather and it was going to be clear the entire week I was there. So I felt pretty safe! :-)

I worked there in ‘69 doing Forest Inventory, my first summer job. We went all over the forest. There may still be little square aluminum tags at the base of trees I measured. We put small numbered round tags at the base of the trees on trees we measured. Aluminum nails were used for the tags and marking were we measured the diameter of the tree. Aluminum was used because it didn’t hurt the tree. As you can see the roads can get very nasty when wet. Your video brings back fond memories.

Gorgeous location & views! By the way, your decision to take out the midway ads is a brilliant one. If they let you put in a pause in a logical place, it wouldn't be so bad, but they always pop up mid thought! If you get paid from the other ones, please let us know & I won't skip them.

Well, the creator can choose where the ads go and I always tried to put them in a place with a pause. But I've talked with a few other tubers and they just use the "auto" button which seems completely random and often puts them in the middle of a sentence or something. Not sure why they do that. But I'm glad not to have them anymore. It was a hard choice because I really wanted that little bit of revenue (since I make so little already), but really hated them. After I saw RU-vid putting in 2 preroll ads, I was done! And the fact that I just passed $100 a month in Patreon gifts sealed the deal. :-)

I have a little action cam that I put in the rut to get the drive over shot. The ruts were so big, I wasn't worried about it getting hit. :-)

Flagstaff was pretty cold in May! This year was a little weird for weather. It snowed a couple of times when I was there. :-)

Ha ha!! Yes, it's still running right along. I do go super slow over the bumps though. A lot of the driving footage was sped up 2X or it would have been super slow. I drove so slow, it took be almost 4 hours to drive the 23 miles back there. :-)

Love your hair this length, looks good on you. What impresses me most is your traveling alone living Life, not afraid. I'm a 67 y.o. female that has lost her trust in strangers in the Wilderness, more than bears...& trust me my kids will tell you I made everyone carry bear spray @ Yellowstone Nat'l Park, LoL. I love your videos. I noticed the tree behind and off to the side of where you parked was rotten with most of the base of the tree gone please be careful of trees like that. one good wind storm and down they come.

I checked the weather for the entire week I was going to be there and it was supposed to be clear. So I thought it would be OK. But I would not have gone there if it was going to be windy. It seemed like a stout tree, but a good wind has knocked down many a tree. :-)

No, this was with my old camera. I didn't get my new camera until I left Flagstaff. So all the videos coming up from Flagstaff are with the old camera. I can't wait to start editing the footage of my new camera and really see the footage. :-)
