Shell shock, combat fatigue, combat stress reaction − the terms and diagnosis for mental health issues directly linked to battle have changed and been modified since the term "shell shock" was coined in World War I.
The result of psychiatric breakdown still remains the same - one of the most costly items of war when expressed in human terms.

I am a veteran. And All I can say about the real experience of real war is, it is impossible to fully imagine, relate or understand and comprehend by having it explained by just words. It is something you must experience to truly be able to understand and relate to. And to me, it felt very unnatural, like I was experiencing something no human anywhere should have to, yet here it is, it felt very disgusting and vile and inhumane, it felt like you were experiencing things the Human brain was not made to be able to handle / Cope / Rationalize. Regardless of who was right and wrong, the whole thing of fighting and killing eachother instead of say, colonising our solar system. I can not compare it to anything from Civilian life.

It makes you wonder why guys like McCain were such war hawks. He was likely so broken that he lost your balanced perspective on war.

Great film explaining the psychological consequences of war. This is generally unheard of in the media. Props to Militärt!

Sjukt viktigt för alla att veta hur många alla förlorar till psykisk ohälsa i krig

Så grymt att se hur "vi" påverkas av krig. Vi är trots allt bara människor!

Thank you for all your informative videos. Unfortunately, we all should prepare for the real possibilty of global conflict. This information is invaluable.

Thank you for posting this. Traumas from experiencing war is often viewed as "not normal". "The countries" need battle ready soldiers, but these reactions simply show that most folks react to war with trauma. Yeah, send people out to fight a ground war, and basically all of them come back as very damaged. Many seem not to be able to live a normal life after experiencing war. Just stop this. (yeah, I know it is not that simple, but the folks sending out folks to war should actually be there and start the shooting themselves - then throw the responsible folks in a pit and let them fight it out)

Valuable and terrifying footage. That first doc sure had good bedside manners. 🙄 I would have screamed “clean out your ears” jack 🌘. Psychiatric casualties also occur to those who need to be at high alert for 60+ days on end.

Well, I never even imaged so soldiers suffered. I have seen soldiers from the Great War with terrible affections, I thought it was hundreds maybe a thousand or so but 100's of thousands, no That's a lot of after care for those poor soles.

Those soldiers chasing people with streams of fire... All I could think of is the smell of cooked meat, melted polyurethane of the uniforms, and the screams

Sounds like Jack Carr's RD4895 fiction is likely far closer to reality than imagination.
