Would love to see the roleplay mechanics completely overhauled. Similar to how in Baldur's Gate 3, the choices you make, the factions you join, the race you pick, all matter later on in the game. For example, joining the Dark Brotherhood wouldn't allow you to join the Companions, I know there is a bit of this in Skyrim, but really expanding on it would make the game just that more immersive. Having multiple diverging story paths within the Elder Scrolls world would just be incredible.

After seeing how Starfield was developed, i mostly just want ES6 to have better dialogue & role playing mechanics. Most people agree dialogue in starfield is pretty bland with not many diverging choices. Recently started playing Cyberpunk2077 and the dialogue immersion is INCREDIBLE! Hopefully ES6 takes some notes and can follow a similar path

I will never understand why they released a teaser trailer almost 10 years before the actual planned release date

I hope we get a lot of role play in the game without mods

So...someday...an Elders Scroll game will be made. And they are going to do...something in it.

Recent failures shouldn’t make people think ES6 will be bad. Their failures came from trying new things. They are meant to make ES Games, not the other shit. They know the formula even more so now than they did after Oblivion. They’ve seen all the mods people enjoy. They have an immaculate lore with an immaculate world, and they know now more than ever exactly what we want in an ES Game. Plus, they know they are done for if they fuck it up. I foresee Todd going out with ES6 as his redemption song.

The elders scrolls 6 needs to have, the RPG system of starfield (improve), the graphics of starfield (improve), but they need to keep in a large-short world, with a lot of details. Not big empty maps.

If this guy made the change from Oblivions magic system to Skyrims then I don't want him involved with ES6

I want more roleplaying mechanics, something like traits alot more magic and combat mechanics in Elders scrolls 6

A mix of skyrim leveling and nioh like skill trees and ffxi style accuracy/efficacy and attack/effect/duration of physical damage and damage reduction and blocking effectiveness etc improves with every skill point increase, not just at thresholds that level you up or when you put points into abilities and passives in the skill trees.

after starfield i dont expect ANYTHING

My biggest hope is that we have similar builds for ES6 as the dark souls!! Where it’s more detailed, and force you to stick with one build and not be overpowered with every build like Skyrim! For example, to have strength build in dark souls 3, you need to level up the strength ability, find strength weapons, level them up, but in Skyrim if you reset the abilities for example to two handed weapons, your two handed weapons will improve automatically without the need to do anything.

The skill progression is fine, but when it comes to leveling up i prefer xp like fallout 4. And give us stats, after the success of baldurs gate 3 i would like the elder scrolls series to be less mainstream and more classical rpg. I want more meaningful choices when it comes to builds, maybe not a fully class based system, but something that gives us more control and choices over our characters.

2028 is wiiiiiiiild but I'm happy to wait if it means the game is insanely good

I just hope the magic is more extensive like in previous games and combat doesn't feel like the floaty LOL combat in ESO

I want to be optimistic for the next Elder scrolls but I just don’t know. Starfield was a good game and I enjoyed my time with it. But in my opinion Elder scrolls Six can’t just be good ,It needs to be amazing. It’s just my opinion but I do think they need to switch game engines in order for this to happen. Creation is fine and it does allow for a plethora of mods to be added by the community. I just think the engine is outdated and will lead to an outdated feeling product at lunch at least in my opinion.

I wish bethesda would just focus on elder scrolls and fallout universes. This shit is ridiculous.

Honestly, no other RPG could hype me up more than the next installment of Elder Scrolls. I'm building a new, high-end pc in January with a 7800X3D CPU and a 7900XTX GPU so that should last until ES6 releases, while letting me enjoy new AAA games in the meantime :p

bethesda is screwed if they make the game that surpasses their magnum opus which was skyrim. the mods for that game have made it keep up with the times, the bar is so damn high at this point.

I don't want to be "that guy" but have you played any Elder Scrolls games? Skills always progressed as you used them. If anything - Skyrim removed every true element of actual RPG games by allowing you to be a master of everything. Leader of the mages guild with 5 destruction skill - or any skill? Sure! Why not? Just use a scroll. Savior of Skyrim by being the Dragonborn in 45 minutes? Sure, why not? Bring a farmer some ectoplasm? Sure, you are now the Thane of *insert generic town name here* when others have lived in said town for generations. You are now their master.

Dnd style leveling/chraracter building system with the same kind of weapon upgrade system as used in er would make every character different with different approach to gameplay i guess, any thoughts ?

There will be no disappointment when the ES6 is finally released, because all of the people who played and enjoyed Skyrim to bits will be dead.

I do kind of like the idea of leveling up by using the skills, but it also turns into "I'm going to make a thousand dwarven bows to level up smithing". So it starts getting silly sometimes. I want to believe they're going to release it on 6-6-2026. That's my call right there. Then every Christian can freak out that there are thre 6s for this game.

Release it in 2026 for the modders early access. Reduced price and let them make it game of the year for 2028 for us all and Bethesda pay them and not cheap out!

Really? Next gen consoles? Like, do you mean the next Xbox above the Series X, and the next playstation above the PS5? I really hope not. That would mean they would have only 1 new gen game on the current gen consoles, being Starfield. Whereas like with Oblivion, Skyrim, and Fallout 3 were all originally done on the Xbox 360 & PS3 gen consoles.

Honestly, I'd rather Elder Scrolls 6 head more towards Daggerfall than keep with the Skyrim game philosophy. Bring back stats. Add more skills and roleplaying opportunities. Make the province *feel* huge again. Hell. With advancements in proceedural generation, bring back the procedural dungeons. Daggerfall was an amazing title held back by the tech at the time.

Who ever the developer is can you add all the world's into one game play so say I beat oblivion instead of switching games to then play skyrim I could instead fast travel to where I got captured before skyrim starts and could come in go between every elder scrolls game and dlc by walking or unlocking its fast travel point? If you do this and sell it for 100.00 I'd by it. Why this is marketable you can just add dlc worlds to a game we like to be in still skyrim. And add future games to connect to skyrim so we can travel between all the games like wow does.

Bruce Nesmith retired two years ago, and while his insight may be interesting it is not at all relevant to what we'll see in the final product, especially as it from a perspective likely 4-6 years from release and influenced by his own perception and ego, something you can hear from his interview. "The system I made," and, referring to the magic system, "While this is not my unique idea I had a large hand in that." These are the words of someone who is convinced their insight and direct influence are what made a game great. It is easy for fans to be persuaded by this, but it is a team that makes a game, not one person, and the way this fellow upsells his skills tells me he is the person who likes to take credit for work and ideas that were not his own. Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but the immediate impression his words and and expressions left on me in that interview....

Nostalgia almost made me buy Starfield. I'm glad i did not. My journey with Bugthesda ended with Fallout 4 and is not going to come again unless they really surprise me.

I liked the skill levelling, but for me it needs work! Combat perks and defence should be separate to say smithing, enchanting, lockpicking. If playing Skyrim legit, you simply don’t have the perks point to spend on things. Yes you can grind out legendary, but you’ve pretty much finished your playthrough by then. Without DLC or mods Skyrim is reasonably short, even when doing 100s of side quests. It makes no sense you can level say lockpicking to 100 but have spent no points on it, therefore even a novice lock isn’t any easier despite all that experience. Also Dragons Dogma 2 and Crimson Desert are both set to be released perhaps in 2024. Elder scrolls 6 by 2028 is very long away. It would have to be amazing with at least half of Tamriel to explore to make it the champion once again. I’d hope for the regular allocation of perk points but the passive skills should just level naturally, without having to spend precious perk points on skills which should just level automatically.

long development cycles mean nothing if you don't know what you are doing, between gran turismo 4 and 5, forza came to be, released 3 titles and catched up, when gt5 finalky came out, it was too little too late, forza 4 came a little under a year later and completely squashed it

I am not excited at all. I have 0 faith in Bethesda. Most likely it will be another soulless cashgrab game with an awful woke linear story that will make you want to go back to Skyrim. I expect the worst. I expect a disappointment of epic proportions and a fall from grace like no other.

This game doesn’t matter anymore because you can’t expect Bethesda to even remotely deliver on what they say.. It’ll be an exact copy and paste of Skyrim itself just watch

I don’t think Bethesda is accounting for the fact that most of their player base will have full time jobs and maybe even families by 2028 😂 I’m not saying it’s true for everyone but jobs and family tend to be prioritized over games (or should be?)
