Ah, broken quest triggers. Always a fun time. I had to use the console to teleport myself into prison the first time I did the Markarth murder mystery quest in Skyrim, because the guards who showed up to kill my contact and throw me in jail just... stopped. Stood there. Did absolutely nothing. I had to use the console not just to get into Markarth's prison, mine, but also to activate the next quest trigger. I resolved then and there to never play a Bethesda game without an unofficial patch ever again, if one existed for the game in question.
20:00 - Ah, NPC blockages in Morrowind. That happens because the NPCs are programmed to do the same thing they do in Daggerfall: stop and turn to look at you for a bit if you get within talking range. It was there to prevent the issue Arena had where the NPCs would often walk away too fast for players to talk to them on their first try. But in Daggerfall, the only roaming NPCs were outdoors (in wide open spaces) and they had no collision boxes anyway, so if they accidentally stopped in front of you, you could just walk past them. Morrowind doesn't do that, and it has roaming NPCs both indoors *and* outdoors, so it becomes an issue sometimes. NPC movement algorithms were greatly enhanced in Oblivion and Skyrim, so you're not likely to have that issue.
Not sure if somebody pointed it out yet, but with being a werewolf, if you're being attacked all over the place, it's very likely somebody caught you changing forms; something to be wary of in a werewolf play through. *Edit:* Just hit the part where you came across that possibility. Lol But still, it can be done on accident and it apparently counts if bandits or other more antagonistic npcs catch you. (Learned that one the hard way)
Haha yeah it was pointed out. Sadly I'll never really know what happened however since you brought up bandits it might have been one of them on the island. Who knows haha. Ah well. Thanks for pointing it out all the same, pal.

Well, the DLCs were good, I didn't do the shit of playing Tribunal before the main game so the end was good an BETTER than Morrowind, but the quest about the dark brotherhood, even doing the optional quests, didn't have an ending, like, they just forgot about one person trying to kill you not ONCE but few times during the optional quests and then it just ends with you being friend to the person who tries to murder you since the beggining, WTF. I thought doing the quests I could aproach him and a questline to kill him would show up in the end... Bloodmoon was good.
I always thought Tribunal was the second DLC, not the first one. Funny, that. Probably why I only finished it after Bloodmoon. I did enjoy it though. More as a lorehound, but it is great from that perspective. Did you know the game was originally meant to span the entirety of Morrowind as a province though? It was scaled back and House Indoril was cut from the game. Ironic, seeing as you, being Nerevar reborn (probably), are the rightful heir to House Indoril, but Ordinators will still attack the Nerevarine on sight for wearing a single pauldron of their armor. Go figure. Still, Tribunal and Bloodmoon are kind of a vertical slice of the massive subcontinent they originally planned, and that's neat.
Yes I did hear about that! (the game spanning all of Morrowind). I understand why we never got it but it would have been so awesome. I know Todd Howard said they won't really go back and do anything with Morrowind but far out man, I'd love to see a remake or something. Still everything we got was amazing and I cherish that.
I remember watching the interview with Holy Tod and him saying the amount of content they had to cut of from consoles and from PC, Even DLC's are cut down. If they had technology back then i think Morrowind would be bigger and DLC's as well. Even the game being shipped in this state peoples jaws dropped anyways! Half of human population didn't see the light of the day until they finished the game! Tribunal was not really my cup of tea, it was good story but it was more like "meh" but Bloodmoon was more open like, more mysterious and interesting and the first time you had lycanthropy. Even though Morrowind was "short" in some peoples opinion i think replayability is far greater than almost any other game. One of the standalone mods that i would recommend is Arktwend from SureAI (german company). It is on German so you will have subs. Great content and massive storyline with massive world! But other than that you can mod Morrowind to High Heaven and still want more. Morrowind is a gem and for few dollars you can own an art you can have as long as computers exist (which is forever i guess)... Great video Lycan! Good job!

Speaking of cut content, you gotta ask yourself what type of game Morrowind would have been if they just went wild with it and the limitations of the time weren't a concern. I agree with you on the repetitiveness of Tribunal however I do think it gets very good near the end. Bloodmoon is a great expansion. I always do it last in playthroughs due to how incredibly difficult it gets. I do the Raven Rock questline mid game in most playthroughs. Even before finishing Vvanrdenfall's main quest. It's easy plus the house reward at the end is necessary for all my playthroughs. I make so much money from exploits and quests that going from khuul to raven rock to drop off artifacts and loot is a breeze.
Since you asked, I bought Morrowind the week it came out, and it eventually became my favorite game. I didn't buy the expansions as they released, but I did buy the GOTY edition. I agree with your assessment of the expansions. I pretty much hated Tribunal. I played through it once, but I probably won't ever play it again. On the other hand, I think Bloodmoon is one of the best things Bethesda has ever done. Every time I play Morrowind, I look forward to going to Solstheim. So yeah, I'm glad you're enjoying the games and I'm looking forward to more videos.
I have a story of playing Bloodmoon for the first time. I was sitting at my PC, playing Bloodmoon in summer for the first time, my brother was sitting on my bed and was reading something. I suddenly loudly exclaimed "IT SNOWS!" and my brother ran to the window first, before coming to me to watch the game. Meeting my first Draugr gave me a genuine jumpscare. Sneaking through some old crypt for the first time and suddenly yelling and running and glowing eyes and I get thrarshed! Spooky, especially because I had no lights or night vision.
I spent 15 hours on solstheim without interacting with the expansions quest line as a kid because I just enjoyed rampaging as a werewolf. Now that I have back pain I should really play this again for real.

My main one was that you should be more sure in your opinions; I'm here watching your video, you don't need to apologize to me 😅❤ For example, you mention vivec and do a few lines on almost 'damage control' in case you get hate in the comments. I think it would be better if you went 100% on you opinions and instead of saying 'if your in the group of people that like vivec I'm sorry but its just my opinion' You said; 'if your that one person who likes vivec, leave me a comment, I've been looking for someone who likes that M.C.Escher city.' I don't think the morrowind community is that hateful, I'm sure in 2002 you would get haters but we are just happy someone's playing/talking about our game. Its not like your talking about Smash 😅
When I first time touched Tribunal (it was already goty edition with everything in one box) I just got new spell effects, used merchants gold and never even touched main story. There is a reason expansion delay mod is one of the most downloaded on Nexus. For bloodmoon I did some innitial quests to the point of being rushed by band of ork legionaries armed with jinkblades rushing mach 2 on skooma. My character was way to weak to handle that. Never got there since, so I'm skipping Bloodmoon story segment to not spoil myself even more. One day I'll finish it.

I love both expansions and Bloodmoon especially was a blast. When I first tried Bloodmoon I did not know there was a ship to get there so I just started swimming from Vvardenfell to the island. It did take a while. When I finally made it I got into a fight with a bear and died and my last save was on Vvardenfell. 😂
That particular story reminds me... The first and only time I ever beat Bloodmoon, it was for the Hircine's Ring. Why? So I could undo a permanent spell exploit (one of half a dozen I was using) that broke a quest trigger because I was permanently invisible and couldn't be talked to by an NPC. Needless to say, that particular Hircine's Hunt was not very difficult... I did get the ring though. Then my save file broke at some point. Good old Xbox.
I did pre-order Tribunal and play it as soon as it released, and I remember hating some of the the dungeons (sewers) but loving the story as well and after hundreds of hours in Morrowind visiting a new location in the game in the era before expansive mods was refreshing. I did the same with Bloodmoon - and I actually liked building up Ravenrock more than the main story (I loved building strongholds in the base game and stronghold expansion mods were the first ones I ever picked up).
@@LycaniteTV I had been hoping for more of an experience similar to what modders are still trying to deliver with Tamriel Rebuilt's mainland Morrowind - if Bethesda had given us the rest of the Morrowind mainland outside the walls of Mournhold - my mind truly would have been blown... joinable Houses Indoril & Dres and more faction politics between the Great Houses on the mainland would have been top of my wishlist.

I've done my first full comprehensive playthrough of Morrowind, Tribunal and Bloodmoon when I was about 14. Back then I didn't really mind the barebones and repetetive quests of Tribunal because I understood that within the space allocated for the expansion there wasn't much space for fights besides the sewers and dwemer ruins. Playing through Tribunal now is definitely a chore, though I personally would attribute that to me having played the expansion no less than 15 times already. I actually quite enjoyed Tribunal back in the day, the tougher enemies, new scenery, interesting side quests and most importantly the Clockwork City were just enough of a change in pace compared to the base game to keep me locked in. The same for the most part applies to Bloodmoon too, although I remember having a bit of a gripe with the quests with the stones. One thing Bloodmoon related that has forever engraved into my memory is the loudness of the final cutscene. My god that has to be the loudest cutscene in history of videogames.
Tribunal didn't really give me that much of a hard time because I was already like level 50 plus when I went to bloodmoon I was like level 65 and I had all the god tier weapons and armor and my magic was pretty high Normally, no one will know that you are a werewolf, but if you are seen transforming by anyone (even if you kill them immediately afterwards), all of Tamriel will know you are a werewolf and will usually attack you on sight even during the day
I remember playing the base Morrowind game on Xbox all the way until Oblivion came out. I didn't play any expansion until after I got the game of the year edition for pc. I remember starting Tribunal and after 2 hours, never going back to it. I loved Bloodmoon, but Tribunal was rough.
There are several mods that let you trade places with NPCs through dialogue, such as Move Or Take My Place or Supreme Follower System. More recently, the Morrowind Code Patch implemented a function to globally reduce the size of NPC bounding boxes and stop them from blocking corridors, but that only works with the original engine, not OpenMW. There are a number of mods that delay the start of Tribunal, usually until you've accumulated enough power and political influence that the person who hired the Dark Brotherhood would see you as a genuine threat, instead of trying to kill you the moment you arrive in Seyda Neen. Naturally, it also prevents you from getting and selling the extremely valuable Dark Brotherhood armor at first or second level. A modder named Mortimermcmire (Mort) created a pair of mods that rebalance Tribunal and Bloodmoon to be more in line with the base game, so that the enemies won't be instantly lethal to lower level characters. For story reasons, Tribunal Rebalance works best with a mod that delays the start of Tribunal.
I'm not going to lie to you. Going from Oblivion to Morrowind would be rough for anybody new to The Elder Scrolls however if you stick with the mechanics and maybe pop a few mods on. You'll be met with a new and rewarding experience. But it isn't for everybody and there isn't any shame in saying it isn't for you. I still say to give it a go.
I just started getting your videos recommended at random and proceeded to binge them all haha. Love the elder scrolls and your videos are lots of fun, good length just comfy enough of a watch to be just my type of content! Only now did I realize you have less than 200 subscibers????
