To me music of Morrowind seems more exotic and has a more distinct "plot", I would really prefer Soule making music for TES 6 Hammerfell in the spirit of Morrowind
If TES 6 is set in both Hammerfell and Daggerfall I hope the kingdoms have their own distinct sound. Compositions played in Hammerfell could use antique-sounding strings like the Byzantine lyra whereas Daggerfall songs could use more ‘classical’ instruments like the 15th Century viol.
Because it's the end of an era; the days of the Tribunal are waning, Dagoth Ur grows more powerful by the day, and the land is plagued by war and suffering. And yet, the people of Vvardenfell carry on, stoic and resolute, despite their hardships. It's powerful and strong in a melancholic sort of way. The glory days of Morrowind are over, but it's people soldier on
@@samuelwithers2221 Beautifully said. I agree with you. :D This track also reminds me of Vivec himself (and the city named after him as well. With the Bar Dau Moonlet hanging precariously closer to the city and it's people Era by Era 'cause Vivec's divinity is fading away, I think that whole situation can also fit as allegory for the entire Province of Morrowind in general, circa 3E 427. Once great and in a position of power, and now sliding ever closer into hell). Vivec has existed for literally Eras as Morrowind's Living God Warrior-Poet, in that existence of being protector of his people and also, undoubtedly, being a manipulative, lying, murderous bastard (but in his and his fellow Tribune's perspectives, for the greater good of the Chimeri/Dunmeri people. And uh, godly power is godly power). Also, I think that being a Living God can being a living hell (cue Almalexia, and her insanity). Idk, that's just what I gather. Imho, I think that Azura cursing all of the Chimer people was a real dick move. The Foul Murder of Serjo Indoril Nerevar Mora was the Tribunal's fault (and also wasn't, because of the Red Moment Dragonbreak -- iirc -- but I digress). They deserved to be punished, not their people. Not that I dislike how the Dunmer look (lol). Also, to be fair, Resdayn/Morrowind would've probably been conquered into the ground and decimated, had the Tribunal not rose into power. I really like the Dark Elves. They're not initially likeable, morally right and just, and in general are a cursed people. But their history, mythology, culture and customs are very interesting and in-depth (like any other 'Elder Scrolls race, but the Dark Elves were the first race I really, really read into -- second only to the ancient Human Nedic peoples/tribes of ancient Tamriel. Yeah, TES IV: Oblivion was my first lol). I haven't finished Morrowind yet, but I will eventually. I just mess around in it xD (I do love this game though, ngl.) This is my favorite track, and I think it alongside the in-game cutscene tracks and the game's main theme, Nerevar Rising, define TES III: Morrowind very well. Hopefully we'll all like The Elder Scrolls VI, and Starfield. C'mon, Bethesda. :/ Thanks for reading all of this. Why just listen when you can vibe? Have (or try to have) a good day/night/whatever -- and stay safe out there, of course. :D *"Three blessings, Sera." -- random Balmora Guard* edit: I forgot to mention that Mr. Jeremy Soule is a blessed, genius OST Composer, imho. His works are literally the soul of the recent main games in The Elder Scrolls franchise. I hope he has a role in TES VI. Not that I dislike Mr. Inon Zur's great OST works, tbh. I'm just hoping. :v
