Not sure why Gaiman keeps getting asked to do these Lovecraft docs. He's more of a Rich White Liberal who feels icky when fearing he might say the wrong thing within ear drop of those who sometimes hunt for Lovecraft fans. His wife's a female Sexist who writes poems to mass murderers(of a certain color) While he gets challenged by racist black writers who says everyone should boycott buying books from white writers for at least a year and he (being rich,pampered and leftest) feels no need to stand up and call out the hypocrisy of racists decrying racism(most of these self described victims actually just hate racism if it's from another skin color) Yeah I like some of Gaimans stuff(though most of it's syrup) but I don't have any respect for a man that doesn't Know Thyself and also sides with those who are openly against his type. Something very disingenuous and dishonest about that. And to be honest I'm not that big of a Lovecraft fan. That old writing style is often to aged for me. Though I would be a fool(or a racist like Daniel Jose Older) to deny that the author could construct descriptive sentences like few ever could. Lines that are very very impressive and dark. But his dialog not to entirely unlike Poe was not that much of importance to the Two Giants of the past two centuries. One thing I do, unlike most of the New Liberal Liars that have invaded the Fantastic Fiction Fields today, is have respect for a man that puts food on their families plate. Without Lovecraft many of these(Older included) Probably would have to get a day job and certainly wouldn't have all these spaces to whine about dead white guys in. They ole Lovecraft quite possibly more than any writer since Poe. Yet all they have for him ( A man dead for 75 years) is Hate. Well that's the Enlightened Tolerant ones for ya, Always needing a Mirror when one's not around.
