I met him in Rome in 1991 when I was studying for the priesthood. I remember how he gazed into my eyes. His full attention on me. He had a great capacity to listen. He really knew how to listen to God, and his blessed mother. A great thing that I have recourse to today. Saint John Paul to pray for us. June 2020
@Waffles You should watch this video on the apostate antipope Paul VI. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lH4STuCRGLE.html Paul VI was truly a wicked individual who solemnly 'promulgated' all the heretical documents of Vatican II. Paul VI taught that it is right to worship idols, and all kinds of heresies. He was a totally heretical apostate who also replaced the Catholic Mass with invalid protestant abonimation known as Novus Ordo, and changed rites to all seven sacrements, invalidating new rite of ordination of priests and bishops consecration. @Detective Orion Fernandes Telling someone in charity the truth and warning them about archenemies of Christ and his Church is hatred? Anyone who kissed a book that blasphemes Jesus Christ and leads people to hell and promotes many other great evils is an apostate. John Paul II was one of the worst if not the worst heretic in Church history.
This man was my mom’s favorite pope. I can easily see why. He is too kind and forgiving. May he forever be in paradise with Jesus Christ and all of the angels and believers
“... the believers of Islam, to whom we are united by the adoration of the one God.” - John Paul II, general audience, May 16, 2001 “Whoever wishes to be saved, needs above all to hold the Catholic faith; unless each one preserves this whole and inviolate, he will without a doubt perish in eternity. But the Catholic faith is this, that we worship one God in the Trinity and the Trinity in unity. Therefore, let him who wishes to be saved, think thus concerning the Trinity. ‘But it is necessary for eternal salvation that he faithfully believe also in the incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ … the Son of God is God and man … This is the Catholic faith; unless each one believes this faithfully and firmly, he cannot be saved.” - Pope Eugene IV, Council of Florence, Session 8, Nov. 22, 1439, ex cathedra
@@jham9470 Islam denies the divinity of Christ and rejects the most Holy Trinity. Islam allows polygamy up to four wives. "Yours is a proud and sturdy people, which, in meeting great cultures and neighboring powers, has remained true to its personal identity, bearing splendid fruits in art, religion and human living. Your ancestors embraced such overwhelming spiritual worlds as Confucianism and Buddhism, yet made them truly their own, enhanced them, lived them and even transmitted them to others. Wonhyo and Sosan T’bege and Yulgok eloquently express this feat. ” - John Paul II, address at airport in Korea, May 3, 1984 “We are thankful for the success of apostolic missions in America, the Indies and other faithless lands. They search out those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death to summon them to the light and life of the Catholic religion. At length they snatch them from the devil’s rule, by the bath of regeneration and promote them to the freedom of God’s adopted sons.” - Pope Gregory XVI, Probe Nostis, No. 6, Sept. 18, 1840
@@John-jf8lw This is all common knowledge so again I ask what point are you trying to make by posting these comments to a video about Pope St. John Paul II? Are you trying to say he supported Islam? Or that he thought Muslims would be go to Heaven? Because the quote you gave from him does not say that.
“Today, I would like to repeat what I said to young Muslims some years ago in Casablanca: ‘We believe in the same God …’” - John Paul II, general audience, May 5, 1999 “If anyone does not say that He, Jesus, Christ … will come to judge the living and dead, he is a heretic.” - Pope St. Damasus I, Council of Rome, 382, Canon 15
I hope we can imitate his example, and obtain the very truth he learned and lived every moment. Love conquers all. God is love, what is left to fear but fear itself.
I remember his fIrst words,"...The most Eminent Cardinals have called a new bishop of Rome. They have called him from faraway country...faraway,but always so close trough communion in the faith in the christian tradition.I was afraid to receive this appointnent,but...I did it in the spirit of obedience to Our Lord and with total trust in His Mother,Our Most Holy Lady. Also I do not know if I can explain myself well in Your -in Our- Italian language. If I make a mistake, you will correct me!.....Great man and such a humble, beautiful human being with great sense of humor. He will never, ever be forgotten.
John Paul II praised John Calvin as one who was trying to “make the Church more faithful to the will of the Lord.” - June 14, 1984 John Paul II said of Martin Luther: “Our world even today experiences his great impact on history.” - October, 1983 “But later, even more care was required when the Lutherans and Calvinists dared to oppose the changeless doctrine of the faith with an almost incredible variety of errors. They left no means untried to deceive the faithful with perverse explanations of the sacred books.” - Pope Gregory XVI, Encyclical, May 8, 1844
I think of that often….and his mother when she got sick and had to leave behind her young son….little did she know. But when she went to Heaven and he was still a boy, I believe she was able to see who he’d become one day ❤️🙏
He is my favourite Pope maybe because my whole life he was the Pope in Rome. I was able to experience a moment in with this great Pope in Church history in 1995 World Youth Day in Manila ,Philippines where I was one of the youth delegates from my hometown. I cried each time I am watching a video of this Pope..I do not know why except I feel so moved by just seeing him..I feel God's love radiating from his Holiness touching my heart and soul. “By using images, the New Testament presents the place destined for evildoers as a fiery furnace, where people will ‘weep and gnash their teeth’ … The images of hell that Sacred Scripture presents to us must be correctly interpreted. They show the complete frustration and emptiness of life without God. Rather than a place, hell indicates the state of those who freely and definitively separate themselves from God, the source of all life and joy.” - John Paul II, July 28, 1999 “Even as cockle therefore is gathered up and burnt with fire, so shall it be at the end of the world. The Son of man shall send His angels and they shall gather out of his kingdom all scandals and them that work iniquity. And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be weeping and gnashing of the teeth.” - Matthew 13:39-42
He was so eloquent, he made out that speech as he was going. He was definably someone with a blessing, such a pleasure to see he’s mind finding the right words through the Love for God and Virgin Mary. Very inspirational
The greatest pope ever.It was a great day for Poland. He was such a humble Servant of God, full of dignity. His first speech was extraordinary like his almost 27 years lasted popesy.
I was 7 years old and was in Saigon, Vietnam when our beloved Pope was elected. Just 3 years after the communist government took over the whole country, most of us didn’t have a TV to watch this great time but my father was so happy to tell us about a new Pope that he heard from radio. He told us to pray for our new Pope because he is from communist country too, so he will help the world to erase the communist and he did. I love him, I miss him and pray to him to help the world end up with the Wuhan (Coronavirus) pandemic. April 15, 2020
Doesn't feel that on where I live. As a Catholic, I am welcomed by wesleyan, united church, anglican, mormons, adventist etc. Likewise, my friends who are non-catholics attend the holy eucharist of the catholic church from time to time. We live in a society where we contribute for the health & safety of the general public and our interventions is inspired and based on moral and ethical standard of Christian values. And these values are shared in the community regardless if you're muslim, buddhist, hindu etc.
My metaphysics is limited. And I'm.not a proponent of Kantian philo. What I do know is that I do not take the scriptures literally, exegesis is everything. Im a believer in the scriptures, dogmas and tradition of the universal church. The miracles and faith of followers remain mystery. I do not see islam, buddhism, hisduism etc as threats to humanity, I am grateful that I see the good deeds of their followers, living in harmony with different beliefs, Im grareful that that is feasible despite differences. I do not deprived a non-christians and non- believers of what is due for them. It's amazing how christians and non-christians live in harmony and get along in most things. I'd never seen good deeds being repaid with bad.

Some groans in the audience when the name was announced -- they were Italians disappointed that a non-Italian had been chosen. I think they got over it over time.
I don't think so... In Rome, we have an unusual deep love for "Il Papa" who is also our Bishop. And I do not mean only Catholics, also many unbelievers do. When we are without Pope in Rome... we feel like orphans. The entire city holds its breath! JPII was an extraordinary man and his words somehow cut through the heart. I think the crowd felt it. Despite his humility, when JPII spoke or entered a room, you had this feeling of being in the presence of God. I cannot explain it well in words... I still remember how at his death procession in 2005, there well all sort people standing in line for more than 8 hours... even a group of young punks covered with tattoos! We talked to them and shared our chocolate and water and they said they were there simply because they respected him and wanted to say goodbye.
@Adam Johnston Answer for yourself It's not really important, since done by interests of public relations What matters is that the official teaching he produced is in keeping with the faith of the Church - see his catechism, for example
Christianity ended in 325 A.D. when the elders got rid of the God of Moses and replaced Him with the Mark of the Beast, the Three Unclean Spirits of "in da name of da fadda, da son, and da holy ghost" pagan gods of Constantine, the phony trinity. The Mark of the Beast is hidden in plain sight, the Sign of the Cross, breaking the First Commandment. truthofexistence.weebly.com/mark-of-the-beast.html Islam is *monotheistic* , praying to the One God of the Judeo-Christian Bible, whose name in Arabic is "Allah" meaning Jehovah or Yahweh. Christianity is NOW a totally false idol worshiping Luciferian mish mash of dirty old men in dresses stealing your money for WORTHLESS RITUALS AND RETARDED SACRAMENTS, denying both God and Jesus Christ, who later lived the life of Prophet Muhammad. NO trinity worshiper shall see Heaven. The Synagogue of Satan is run by drag queens in pagan fish hats and dresses, a cult of homosexual child molesters and thieves. When the news was reported at a Polish Communist Party meeting that Cardinal Wojtyla had been elected Pope, one commissar fearfully said, "Now we'll have to kiss his ass!" Another commissar replied, "Only if he lets us!" Within fifteen years ,Communism failed and the Cold War was over.
I very well remember those days... I still mourn the demise of Pope John Paul 1st who was in the throne of St. Peter for only 33 days... Was it a natural death or an assassination by so and so..? Someone wanted to see the end of the USSR...St. John Paul 2nd was instrumental in achieving that goal. First Poland, then almost all the eastern block and, finally in 1991, the USSR.
Pope john Paul the 1st died from natural causes, he was told by divine providence that there will be a Pope John II after him who will help the church through the new millennium. That's why he was told to chose the name John Paul the first, because there was going to be a 2nd. John Paul II was prophesied by so many saints, even padre pio.
