The Electric State (2024) Russo Brothers, Simon Stålenhag | New Upcoming Sci-Fi Movies 4K 

This is an eye opener. I never thought they'd make a movie out of that stunning artwork. I'm already blown away. If they pull it off, it'll be an amazing experience -- pretty scary one, too, I should imagine.

Simon Stålenhag did also a complete OST of his book "The Electric State". All dark ambient. I would totally LOVE it, if they would adept at least some of his tracks in the movie but probably not.

Simon stalenhag is a master of his projects. Its pretty awesome that they're doing a movie from one of his books. I wonder if they'll adapt his other projects into movies or shows, that would be a sight to see

I love that this is finally coming to fruition BUT releasing this to Netflix is a massive shit storm way to go! This should be released on the big screen so more folks can see it than just a small limited audience that Netflix has.

Being a fan of my fellow Swede Simon I was thrilled when I heard this! BUT, still a bit worried the transition from art-book to live action will take away some of the ambience that is a big part of the attraction of the art books.

Please pray for SAG AFTRA for they get the fair deal.

Spending $320M on a movie helmed by Millie Brown is such a terrible choice

While I would've liked to see this play out in Sweden in the 80s where the rest of the art books and computer game takes place, I guess this will have to do. :) The cast is just awesome. I hope they go for more of a Neill Blomkamp kind of look of the cgi than a Marvel look, rugged and not so polished.

Right away he misread the plot. We don't know she was looking for her brother until the end and the robot was the reason she went on the journey.

Go through the list of a stacked cast and then emphasize "The iconic Ke Huy Quan" - who has been in three productions that I know of. Hahaha! The movie does looks really interesting.

Buy the book. It is amazing.

IMDb says that it will be released on Netflix but doesn’t say anything about a theatrical release. When this announced I was really excited but the lack of a theatrical release is a really bad sign.

I hope it captures the feel from the artwork and doesn't just use it as background for a lame story.

I know it's a movie so the budget is going to be higher than tales from the loop, but I hope they do the world justice because that's like the core of the books. this is one of the few sci-fi media where I actually like the style and it has its own identity. Tales from the loop has this too but I don't think the show displayed the atmosphere the best. this is the one thing they cannot get wrong, and if the Creator is any indication of how the atmosphere can build a story, I hope this movie takes notes from those aspects.

I'm sorry but at 0:36 I can't agree that the Russo brothers are "legendary". Barely five years have passed since Endgame. It takes time and a lot more projects to be considered "legendary". Did a gen Z writer write this in the video script? Lucas, Scorsese, Spielberg or Ridley Scott are legendary. I've never heard about Russo brothers till now...

Looking forward to this movie. Love Simon Stålenhags art but I do not like Mille Bobby Brown. She is a pretty good actor but as far as her as a person, she rubs me the wrong way when I see her in inteviews. She always interrupts people and interviewers and just seems to like to take a big dive into "Lake Me!" in every interview I have seen with her. I believe she's a good enough actor for me to see past this in this move. TBD!

What the Russo bros specialize in is the exact opposite of the feeling you get from Stalenhag's work, so I'm really scared about the result. Stills from the movie might look great, the actual movie though…? Fast action, showy CGI, supposedly witty fast-paced dialogues, ominous invasive music and sound effects underlining everything? Not the Stalenhag spirit. Well, we'll see.

Millie Bobby Brown has somewhat of an uncanny resemblance to Molly Ringwald, in some of the scenes!

This is going to BOMB. Normies are not well versed with this universe and woke people never watch movies, AT ALL, so who would watch if not the art house geeks but even then its so few that it wont be enough for the producers to earn their money. This will be another passion project no one will watch. A straight to DVD cult classic.

So basically Tales from the Loop?

The Russo Brothers adaptation of the Gray Man was horrible. Nothing like the book. Easy pass on this film.

Cool Story: I was in GA in December of 2022 for a work Christmas party. While there my GF and I decided to go see the Stranger Things, Hawkins H.S. Which we did and really enjoyed besides the “security guard” in the lot that was either hammered or on drugs and pulled a taser on us, but that’s a different story 😂. So when we left Hawkins High and were driving back to the hotel we drove past a park and in the lot there was a huge haunted house looking structure set up. There was also a very large dystopian looking sign that said “ This Way To Hap_y Land” with the P missing and the parking lot was covered in like a beach Sand, so we decided to pull in and check it out. It was late at night so no one was around we thought, so I drove up and through the huge welcome sign and up to the haunted house. My GF and I got out and we took some cool pictures and videos until all the sudden a car in the back of the lot started up and began heading our way. I was already on alert because of the last encounter we just had with the taser guy so we got back in the car. It ended up being a real security guard this time and said we couldn’t be there bc it was still an active movie set. I asked what movie and he said “The Electric State”. We left after this and always laugh about this night now and we will always have these cool pictures and videos now and I can’t wait for the movie to come out now!
