I’m getting older so my eyesight is getting bad . I have the element Titon in MOA clean reticle which I prefer now because of my eyesight . I live in the states in the Chicago area so long range shooting is hard to come by , so for shorter shooting I’m starting to like 2nd focal plane . Keep these videos coming as I love your knowledge and unbiased views . BTW MERRY CHRISTMAS BROTHER !!!
@rowdog6376
@rowdog6376 3 года назад
That would work on the Air Arms. Shoot mostly in buildings so ffp much better. Reticle the cleaner the better.😆

Awesome video hodge. Thank you. I haven’t got my helix SFP very long and I love it. Wow I would have loved it FFP but hey ho, fantastic scopes regardless. Well made and the turrets are great.

It's awesome Element finally put a ffp on the Helix, it was the only reason I went with the Vortex diamondback. Can't say anything bad about the diamondback, so far I am loving it on my Fx wildcat mkIII with hits out to 125 yards.

To everyone who reads this if you haven't owned a FFP and only ever used a SFP scope you need to invest in what will be you new favorite thing in shooting, and a one to one retical/ dial will make shooting in wind or at med / long range the best thing sence a scope ! ! ! Hope this helps at least one person! 🥃cheers🍻

2-10x56 34mm tube... sounds nice ! I want ever click I can get and every last day of kite possible, if they made the titan at same level they did the nexus I'd be sold on the only scope I'll ever need for every gun I own !

Nice to see they are bringing out a reasonably priced FFP. The Diamondback Tac is a really good scope for the money if you get one that works( 3rd attempt ) really good tracking although feels mushy on the turrets. You're right about the Optisan tubes they are thin and easy to bend or squish ( easy to over tighten rings) plus locking the turrets are annoying with the way they reset zero and too easy to loosen. The element looks to be the best option as they seem to be across the board.
@meatheadmarksman2013
@meatheadmarksman2013 3 года назад
Its easy to overtorque the tube on the element too, i think its just something that comes with the low price tag. You have to make a compromise somewhere to make it so affordable
@happyhalfwit8862
@happyhalfwit8862 3 года назад
@@meatheadmarksman2013 sadly it does seem to be where the cost gets cut but as a totally ham fisted gorilla I’m careful and even with the wrench at 10in/lb it was nipping the Optisan at the front, go much less than that and the screws or scope will creep

@meatheadmarksman, thanks for the review and it does look like EO did "some" improvements on the FFP Helix. I had note HAD a first generation SFP Helix, I kept it two months and moved on to something else partially because of the small eyebox as noted by @cyclopsvideosjoewrhea. The guy who I sold the Helix to kept it two days and sold it to someone else for the same reason, small eyebox, but otherwise the scope is pretty good for the money compared to its peers. Hopefully, the small eyebox issue got solved in the gen 2 FFP scope. BUT I don't agree the Helix compares to scopes worth twice the price.
@meatheadmarksman2013
@meatheadmarksman2013 3 года назад
I dont think i compared it to scopes twice the price did I? the optisan is a little bit more and the diamondback is a little bit less. those were the comparisons I intended to make. I wasnt intending to compare it to anything out of the same price range, if it came across that way It was my mistake.
@Blckpaw

@@meatheadmarksman2013 no you did not. But Matt Dubber and associates did, though quite decent value for the money, you cant compare it to scopes twice its price.

The SFP version is so well done that don’t have the itch to buy the FFP version at all! In fact the SFP version is better at closer range hunting applications. If only element made a compact scope with those amazing turrets I’ll be all in!

I wonder how clear it is at 24x magnification. I typically use 80% of the magnification in the scopes to avoid blurry view but if this one is as clear at 24x as at 12x it would definitely be my preferred option

If you had to get one for shooting around 100-200 yards would this work or would you think the upgrade to the titan would be worth if?
@meatheadmarksman2013
@meatheadmarksman2013 3 года назад
depends on what your shooting, they will both handle the job just fine but if your bench resting maybe the extra weight of the titan would be a plus. the helix does have enough elevation to reach out that far. I recommend using strelock pro to check how much elevation you need to do your longest shot and see which scope you think will handle it better
