Sounds like the clutch is hitting the door rollers on every floor causing that sound to be made.

The single elevator at Church Avenue Garage has had intermittent issues for a week, and the elevator vendor again through troubleshooting has discovered the selector tape which informs the elevator when to start and stop needs to be replaced.

The Market Garage elevator on the Church Avenue site has been down for a few weeks. Officials said the elevator vendor has been troubleshooting during this time and found several issues. The most recent issue is a hydraulic oil leak due to the deterioration of the packing, PARK Roanoke shared. New packing has been ordered and should be delivered and installed mid to late week of June 12.

Reminds me of the "Talking" the ones at the Worcester Galleria Garage used to do (before their removal), especially "Red #1", with the 2-speed door.

I'm glad elevator number 1 still runs very well. I think the guide rails are too close to or touching the doors on every floor for lift 2 at Luck Avenue

Could be a interlock on the cab hitting the floors as you go up and down maybe easy fix or could be a complete modernization

i'm gonna guess its the interlocks for the inner doors hitting the latch of the outer doors as it goes past. didn't elmwood have a similar issue once?

This is quite odd. It could even be something with the guide rails or maybe it's hitting something in the shaft. But as you said, it's probably a door clutch issue. I think the door clutch might be misaligned and it's colliding with the door rollers. It's kind of hard to tell, but this is what I think the issue could be.

It seems to me that this elevator is hitting multiple things in the shaft. The left C3 elevator at the Gaylord opryland did that same thing to me in 2014 right after it got modded by Thyssenkrupp

weird how the clutch hits its rollers but does not break the safety chain. i sure hope its not running with a bridge on its shaft doors that would be super dangerous

What is the door restrictor?

@@GaryBeltz The door restrictor keeps people from inside the elevator from opening the door. If the elevator is not within 18 inches of the floor, the restrictor keeps the door from opening so people couldn't fall down the shaft.
