As a DC native & Howard graduate, DC is an amazing place to live and raise a family. Prince Georges’ County is home to the largest population of affluent Black professionals in the US. Culturally DC is a great option. And it’s 4hrs from NYC...win!

I actually was gonna suggest the DMV to y’all! Specifically PG county, which is right outside the city. It has the highest concentration of African American wealth in the nation. Blacks are also represented in all socioeconomic classes, jobs/careers, etc. there are lots of pockets where over 50% of the residents have Bachelors degrees. You’re a 45 min flight from NY, 2 hours away from Philly, 1.5 hr flight from ATL. There are some good schools both in the city and PG (private, public, Afrikana based charter, public charter) and the sense of community is overwhelming. 3 airports! I may be biased because I was born & raised there and even went to college & grad school here at Howard, but I honestly think y’all would like it A LOT and still be able to do the work you do.
Live by myself. The struggle is real sometime. But that’s exactly what you do, zip as much as you can until you reach your destination and have someone help you once you get there.

Mrs. Ellis - welcome to my life! I mastered the art of zipping my own dresses. You gotta do a little dance but I use my left arm to zip up halfway then stretch my right arm to grab the zipper up the rest of the way. It hurts like hell but gets easier with practice! Also your sister is a clone of you. Damn! What a blessed family. I hope to live like this one day!

I have been there no one in the house and you need to zip your dress or top. You can either try a hanger through the loop or worst case yes pin it bring safety pins or a Hollywood Emergency Travel Kit too you can get it at CVS or Duane Reade in NYC or Jersey. 😍😍😍I couldn't see y'all living in LA but DC sounds like a good fit. You're not too far from family... unfortunately gentrification has still hit but the black community (especially the Caribbeans) is strong and you can find land for the kids to grow up on. Amazing schools and not too far from possible gigs in Boston or NYC
Kay.. It's easy, 2 things to do. Make sure anything you are getting ready to have a Cold room. if u cannot zip yourself go to a event and get someone to zip u up. it happens to me a lot. I've even had valet to zip me up before i walk in. lol
Kay... Gotta give you the zipper secret. You have to not zip it all the way down if possible..if you can keep it within comfortable arms reach put the pants on or the dress and hopefully you can was it up easily. Now a stubborn zipper requires a little sweat or you have to get someone to zip you later
Everyone is moving here from NY and Jersey lol...you guys should it's nice here. Maryland preferably..its expensive but affordable with a decent job..alot of people here are graduates as well..good luck
