The Elmwood Garage Elevator in Roanoke, VA has been painted! It is grey!

(September 2024) Since we last visited the garage, the elevator has been painted on the outside. while the grey looks nice, I think it would have been cool if they color coded the floors like they did at Market.

I’m glad to see this elevator is doing better now. It’s finally getting the love it deserves. They just need to fix that indicator now.

That's new, grey doors, I am surprised the cab has not been repainted like they did to the grey cabs on the Market Parking Garage elevators.

it is wonderful to see this elevator being improved, now I wonder how well it will do this coming winter because if I'm remembering correctly, when this elevator first got modded, it started making those loud banging noises during its first winter.

they actually did do that before lvl 2 was red, lvl 4 was green, i forgot the rest but they took it away

Ah, a first. Hitting up the steps! I was wondering when that was going to happen. Wildeeper did it in one of you videos, I think... or was it Elevator Channel? The steps are scenic and grey, too.

Literally they were black one day and grey the next. Very fast.

So they painted the doors but left that hideous cab. Why can’t they just snapcab it like church ave? Also they got rid of the color coded floors.

They should put a new TKE plate over the missing name. It looks so odd without it.

1. They mod their perfectly fine and famous U.S. elevator. 2. They paint the doors. 3. The mod has broken down more often. 4. The city is doing too much with this elevator 5. Why doesn't Dieselducy own this garage?

I’m glad this elevator is fixed and it runs better then it did before. Old things must be fix and keep them well maintained and in check. I love love this elevator and I’m hoping the elm wood parking garage elevator will be around forever and as long as possible

This elevator runs so amazing! Although I do wish that they left the doors alone. It would've been even better if the original colour coding in this car park wasn't removed.

It still runs great. It ran fine when it was original. The original paint job made it look classic. The grey is like how McDonald's are painted grey on the outside, looks modern. I never noticed the green light on the edge of the doors.

I sure miss it being the US Elevater that it was. I think this must be one of your favorite elevators to ride. I remember you doing the video of the mod it got. Listening to that floor indicator reminds me of the checkout lane at Walmart as thats what it sounds like when they scan your items almost identical sound. Love the gray doors, but also live those red walls in the cab.

I have more coming :) I feel that the digicams do better than the phone except for the auto focus noise.
