Bacon originated from Europe. Most European countries make all desserts like pies and pastries (strudel) with apples so apple pie isn't unique to America either.
Rob Lipsett WTF???!!! DID I JUST RUN INTO A ROB LIPSETT COMMENT ON RU-vid??!!! LMAOOO WHAT WERE YOU DOING HERE??? WHAT AM I DOING HERE??? I'M CURRENTLY ON A DIET LOL I GOT SO MANY QUESTIONS RIGHT NOW. WHAT IS GOING ON??? I WAS FOR REAL GOING TO CHEAT ON MY DIET WITH THE ELVIS SANDWICH BUT I RAN INTO ROBS COMMENT NOW I'M HAVING 2ND THOUGHTS LOL THIS DUDE IS MOTIVATING ME EVEN WHEN I LEAST EXPECT IT & WHEN I NEED HIM THE MOST. I LOVE IT!!!!!! EVERYONE SHOULD LOOK AT HIS VIDEOS. THEY'RE TRULY INSPIRING.
made this but instead finished the sandwiches in a panini press and added a slice of cheese to the sandwiches. words cannot describe the epicness of this sandwich. definitely something to have on rare occasions though lol.
PB&J is an American thing. He's from Ireland. When my sister studied in Vienna, she told us that peanut butter is actually pretty difficult to find. But now that he's moving to LA, I bet he'll get a chance to try them!
+Tori Provencio I'm from Ireland and I can honestly say anybody I have asked has said they have not tried it and sounds disgusting personally I love pbj especially toasted on a gorge foreman grill
I rarely make them any more, but I always add a bit of Strawberry Preserves to it to moisten it up from being so dry. I also use organic PB with no added sugars.
I like the way you use the paper towel to drain the excess fat of the bacon and then drench the sandwich in the bacon grease with added butter to it...wow!
We were just talking about this the other day! I immediately thought peanut butter french toast with bacon, grilled banana and maple syrup.. i have to do this now.
Jason Bell of course...and what about some sugar based sauce and some sugar cooked onions?Oh,i almost forgot about the peanut butter and nutella milkshake to go together with it.With this meal you have a creative way of suicide ;)
Another trick you can do is to mix up the sliced banana, break up the bacon into bits, and mix the bacon bits into the banana mush. Easier for spreading, and you get a nice distribution of banana and bacon ;)
Sometimes I eat a banana and chunky peanut butter with toast for breakfast and that taste great and keeps me full right till afternoon coffee break or till supper.I'll try it with bacon this weekend.but what I found what taste real good is banana bread and chunky peanut butter.
i'm probably way late to the party for saying this but if you're into PB and banana sammiches you'll probably dig the jelly/jam. there is a distinction between the two tho.
So after 2hours of muay thai this is what you will call unhealthy? This is prolly one of the most hormonal balanced anticatabolic snacks ever made. Try it you might feel actual really recovered vs the greens with pastas and chickens
not really bacon and peanut butter is keto friendly, also banana are good carbs, and as bread make sure use whole wheat with no sugar or fructose. at the end depends on what bread you use....
You forgot to fry the bananas, and actually the sandwhiches he would eat more than likely had plantains in them, but that part I'm not sure of, only reason I say plantains is cus restaurants that have this item where I live have the big bakers bread and they use those long banana looking fruits which are called plantains. Ah ok, so yes, Elvis' restaurant used what's called a Fool's Gold Loaf Italian Bread, which I kind of figured It had to be large, because the way the bannanas are cut up is like long ways. I prefer it without the bacon, but yeah, very famous sandwhich.
Don't really know about this recipe, like you said - gotta try it to know for sure! Anyway, I really feel like I have to give some credit to the people behind the scenes - I love the new studio and especially the lighting. You really stand out from the background, the green from outside the window compliments the warm interior. The kitchen looks so domestic and beautiful, I really like it. And Donal - great video, as always. Been following and cooking your recipes for quite some time now and was never disappointed with the results. Keep up the amazing work!
No you can’t have it without the bacon and you never add oil when cooking bacon. If you add the bananas on the bottom you wouldn’t have that problem. NEVER trust a skinny cook, that’s like going to a sick doctor
Elvis's bread had to be toasted, spread peanut butter on both slices of toasted bread, then add sliced banana, add sandwich to hot buttered pan Elvis Presley never ate bacon on his peanut butter banana sandwich. Infact Elvis was a very religious person, well read in all religious books, he very rarely if at all ate any kind of pork.
Considering most of the time before he became a music star Elvis was a truck driver it's not really that big a surprise he enjoyed greasey food, there just wouldn't have been many other options back in the 50's and 60's on long haul journeys
Elvis ate this, then went to try and have a chit, he pushed so hard with constipation that it blew a hole in his Aorta and fell over, all in a "Jiffy".
Definitely is. I'm from the west coast and love them and none of my friends have had them. I have to buy my Fluff online because they don't sell it in local stores
Adding banana to your peanut butter sandwich is not a 1st step. You skipped the 1st step. It's jelly! I'm American and I think I know 1-2 people who like banana on their sandwich. I think I know 1 person who tried the Elvis thing, while in Memphis. I think it's available in Vegas, but not widely available in America. The jelly is without the fruit chunks. Jam, is the whole fruit spread. Since I only like plum jam, which is hard to find...I prefer honey. So, I eat a PB&H. Bacon love? It comes from the Europeans, but it's cheap and lasts a long time. Personally, I can't digest pork, so I'm a bad American! ;)
Speaking of the King, my uncle often roasted my aunt about her lame cooking. But one time he inexplicably declared, "This food is fit for a king, honey!" Glowing, she left the room for a couple of minutes to "powder her nose." He then put his plate on the floor and quietly called their dog over, "Here, King . . . this is for you, boy!" What a couple they were . . . RIP.
I ummm... Think I'm gonna stop eating this now. xD I feel disgusted after watching this. It isn't your cooking. You did fine. I don't fry mine. I grill mine. I thought I was being smart. Nuts, fruit, grain and protein in one sandwich? Healthy! But um... Yeah... Uh... I just hope I didn't destroy my body with that. xD I would love cooking this for breakfast before working out.
Man oh man. I"ve clearly been missing something because I made it today for the first time out of curiosity and oh MAN the King, KNEW food like no other . I used the bread, peanut butter bacon, bananas, butter obviously but I also used the bacon grease to add to the taste to fry. The best sandwich I've ever made foreal. I made 2 but could only eat one ! I keep saying hmm hmmm hmmm.😂 I know it was only a sandwich but I'm just so glad I made it. LONG LIVE THE KING 👑 #elvis
This man is fault, me and my family I've known Elvis and his relatives for decades and he did not eat bacon on his sandwich he did not eat is peanut butter and banana sandwich with bananas cut up the way he cut them up. This man needs to remove the name Elvis sandwich because he doesn't know the first thing about how Elvis ate that sandwich. And if he wants to confront me about it personally he can do so
My wife made this sandwiche for me . My god it s a horror !!! Maybe because because the salt and the sugar together is not right for us . i m french and the u.s.a is not the france or the europe ok .
So many variations on this..I as told it was a french toast with banana and peanut butter and that is what I still call an Elvis. It is amazing btw, 2 slices of bread, some peanut butter and some banana...egg batter and fry in butter. Drizzle with ... what ever you drizzle (or sprinkle) with.
We at the Church of the Almighty Hog believe that Elvis was killed by the makers of turkey bacon. 6 months after his death it was discovered that he was rewriting his famous song "Suspicious Minds" and changing the title to "Suspicious Meats". The song describes the horror the King of Rock and Roll experienced after encountering the pure concentrated evil of turkey bacon. If there was one thing you did not do, it was mess with Elvis's bacon. Corporate Executives became scared and put a hit on Elvis. August 16th 1977 was the day we lost the "Original Porkamaniac" May he rest in peace!!!
EVERY video about this sandwich is different. I still dont know which is correct. Use bacon, no bacon. Slice banana, mash banana. Weave bacon, dont weave bacon. Whole loaf of bread, thick slice bread, regular bread. Toast bread, then grill bread. Grill banana with banana skin on, dont grill banana....... Some lady that made the sandwich for Elvis made it this way, Mrs King that cooked for Elvis made it another way. Everybody says their way is how it was done..... NO ONE KNOWS.
