I think the best way I can describe the movie and what historical fans find as errors would be to understand that it is told through the Colonel's eyes. It took me 2 viewings. These are the things he worried may happen. Elvis out of control in the 50's, 68 T.V. special.,and the firing on stage that in reality did not happen. This is more of the Colonel's story than Elvis'. Great movie that hopefully gets its recognition,

It gave impression that Elvis was all alone, in that airport scene. Linda had been with Elvis since mid1972 and at Aloha with him in 1973. Wish it had shown him having alternating great (healthy) and not great (not healthy)sets before the end. I’ve heard a Las Vegas concert audio from 1974 that’s wonderful with great reviews and a New Year’s eve concert from December 1976 that was amazing. Didn’t just die. But I enjoyed Austin Butler! LOVE scene in red puff sleeve shirt where he’s directing the band 🔥⚡️

Rick, what did you think of how they recreated his bedroom at Graceland? I thought they did an amazing job with that myself. I’d also notice that his part of “Unchained melody” had crispy clear footage and might be taken from the unreleased CBS original tapes. It makes you wonder what else they are holding back from us. .

Yes, it switches half way through to the real Elvis. They have the master tapes, they just won’t release them. All the sets for the movie were amazing, including the master bedroom at Graceland.

I remember when Tom Hanks was promoting "Sully" TH said that he told Sully there would be things in the film that he didn't do or say. I think it's just is the way it is. At the beginning of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, it states: Most of what follows is true.

Great insight, you gave me food for thought. Of course they know the timeline! There's got to be a point that I may be missing because I'm hung up with fact checking. I've got to watch it again.

I just saw it for the second time. I caught the comment the colonel made about Tom Huellets Zeppelin. Lol. Tom Huellet was Zeppelin’s promoter. I’m currently reading Linda’s book. Take care. Eric.

The scene from 73 I agree never happened but I guess they wanted to push the point of the colonel being an illegal alien and to show how frustrated Elvis was with the colonel and to make the movie interesting and dramatic we know Elvis did fire the colonel but not on stage as depicted but it’s a movie at the end of the day not a documentary, the story is told well and is powerful so I’ll overlook the creative liberties and look everyone is talking about Elvis again!!

To whom it may concern... With all my respect but some people's reactions towards the movie are kinda difficult for me to understand. Why? Because to me its like somebody had a Pizza but is irritated afterwards because it didnt taste like a Hamburger. This movie is not tellin' Elvis' life story in its entirety. Its tellin a certain aspect of his life - his relationship with Colonel Tom Parker. I think its essential to understand that! I dont care about the inaccurate parts too much because l understand what they were tryin to do by doing that. They were symbolic. They created certain scenes to present a certain story or feeling for understanding the big picture. And they did it in a great way. The essence is there. Now one can really understand the situation Elvis was in with the Colonel. Maybe like never before. Its not a documentary. I think alot of the critisizm is inappropriate and thats kinda disappointing and sad to see. Yes, maybe there is an incident that Joyce, Linda, Ginger, Mindi, Sheila, Diane, Kathy, Alicia or whoever could have contributed to the Colonel/ Elvis story but would it have made a big difference? Would it have added something essential to the Colonel/Elvis story? I just wish people could enjoy and be happy that Elvis is back in the building again. This movie will change things to the better! And thats all that counts in my opinion! ⚡

I think Ed Sullivan's comments had as much to do with the country's "acceptance" of Elvis than the enlistment in the military. But that's not nearly as dramatic so they left it out. That's probably the one omission (and Hawaii) that I even gave a second thought. In the end, it's a very good movie.

I enjoy your content very much. Seeing the movie 3 times gives more money to the greased machine the estate wants. Just saying. Elvis was a human soul he’d be so pissed at this movie probably shoot the screen

To me it was worth seeing three times. I’ll probably see it again before it’s out of the theatre and will buy the Blu-ray. With that said, I have a very clear understanding of exactly what it is and what it isn’t. It’s an enjoyable movie, but there’s very little fact involved. The visuals and the sound are amazing. The performances are great. The costumes are great. The sets are amazing. However, the story isn’t even remotely close to reality, in fact a lot of what’s shown is a mashup of multiple events over several years made up into a single event that never even happened. It’s great in 2022 to have a major motion picture about Elvis, it’s just a shame the path they took during the movie. Back to me watching it three times. As I discussed in my second reaction video there’s SO much going on in this movie that it can’t all be absorbed in one viewing. I also really enjoyed watching it - warts and all. I’m an Elvis fan. It’s great to hear his music in a theatre. Also, as I pointed out in the videos, Warner Brothers put this movie out. They own the rights to Elvis On Tour. If Elvis was a bomb, or even performed poorly at the box office there’d be next to no chance of a proper Elvis On Tour release. So me seeing the movie multiple times does a few things. Though minor, I did my part to show Warner Brothers that Elvis sells….& I enjoyed the movie experience for all the reasons above. Thanks for your comment and thank you for watching the videos. I appreciate the feedback.

That woman couldn’t have been Shelia, because he was still married during that scene, so it was a random woman.

I have a theory that the lady is Barbara Leigh….I read in a book that she started seeing Elvis whilst TTWII was being recorded. You can actually see her and a friend (a blonde lady) sitting in EP’s private booth during the movie, it’s during Suspicious Minds song….and when he looks out into the audience “looking” I believe it’s his booth that he’s checking out. As many people have stated over the years EP was on his absolute best form performing for a new “friend “…….just my theory!

How many times have you seen it? The first viewing was up and down for me. I had to see it again to absorb all of it. The made up scenes are frustrating, but o understand why they did what they did. It’s not a history piece at all. The timing is a mess and factually it’s all over the place, but it’s not a bad movie otherwise. It’s just a movie.

@@TheElvisWorkshop First of all I have difficulties to watch an actor playing Elvis. Second. The movie has serious mistakes. Elvis never shouted on stage in the 70's to Parker on stage. In the movie Elvis is the victim and Parker the hustler. Nonsense. He sings Trouble in the beginning of his career while the song was released in 1958. After only one meeting it was decided that the 68 comeback would not be a christmas show. So why all those scenes that Parker still believed that it would be only a christmas show ? Why not let sing the real Elvis the whole song Unchained Melody ? In the beginning of the song we see the actor. Afwul scene. It's only a movie people say, so they can mess up the truth ?

@@tonbruins7335 I made two reaction videos and addressed all of your points in both. I’m fully aware about the mashed up and made up events in the movie. I go over everything in my videos. It’s okay to disagree about it. I have several issues with the movie that are bothersome to me - specifically the firing from the stage. I can still watch the movie and enjoy it for what it is.
