Hi Deb Great vlog. I live in a town with 250 people. There is nothing around without going for a long drive. We had snow last night. Last week we were supposed to bathing. We had a debutante ball in Bombala last night. It was snowing heavily on the way home to Delegate. The power went out through the night and only came back on at 9:00am. So I was able to sit and watch your emerald city unboxing. I’d love to see more of your new dwelling. Happy sewing. 🧵 🪡 ❄️

@@corneliamalone2954 Hi Connie, oh wow snow, the weather is crazy at the moment, it looks like it’s warm but the wind is bitterly cold. I hope you have heating other than electric, it would be freezing 🥶. Oh Deb, you had me chuckling out loud as you read what was extra in your bespoke box, pattern pattern and pattern 😂. Every thing looks great, love the fabric yr making the shirt out of, have some lovely colours on it can make a good duster as well. Flesh coloured under wear, under white helps also regards Diana from NZ 🎉❤🎉🐸🐸

Hi Deb, we don't usually have anything other than fruit on top of pavlova. Usually strawberries, it would be yummy with the mint chocolate too. I love the wrap dress patterns you have bought and will make, the Cousette one in particular is so nice with the pleats in the back. Can't wait to see your Easy Fit shirt lengthened a bit in that beautiful fabric. Sounds like your Dad had a great visit. Hopefully you get some of your makes sewn up this week, enjoy ❤❤

@@sewingseamswithdeb Thanks Deb, I once made a pavlova with Macerated Berries which I thought was lovely, luckily I had a peppermint crisp backup for my daughters, it can only be peppermint crisp at Christmas. The Cousette patterns are really good patterns, but the instructions are different from what we are used to, not for the faint hearted. Dad did have a great visit, have a great sewing week, Deb 🪡🧵💕

My mom used to make Pavlova with strawberries and ice cream for Christmas dinner. Lovely memory. I enjoyed your video, all those lovely patterns and material. Thanks for the tip about stay stitching. My v-necks always seemed to go all wonky on me... Now I know why😂. Looking forward to your next video

Hi Annigje, if my pavlova didn’t have peppermint crisp on it I would be in trouble, Christmas is the only time I make them. My mum used to make them, when she passed I got the pavlova plate, so now it’s my job every Christmas, although I’m happy to do it. I’m surprised stay stitch from the outside to the centre is not widely known, it makes a real difference, have a great sewing week, Deb 🪡🧵💕

@@catinthehat1486 Thanks Cat, the Matisse fabric is such lovely fabric, I’m now thinking how I will finish the bottom edge, either a wide tape or a self made facing, just to give it a green finish. That geometric green fabric looks so "Miss Fisher" to me. Either a shirt to wear with silky black wide leg pants or a dress of the era? I think I rewatch that program far too often. Sadly, there are only 3 series and the movie.😊

Love it! I’m excited to get mine! I wasn’t going to watch your video but decided to anyway. I’ll still be happy to open mine. I’m in the states so it takes a few more days to get here. I’m pretty excited, I love the fabric and the buttons. I’ll probably make a shirt out of it. I loved your discussion on iron on bias tape. I always learn from you.

@@amierikke6225 Thanks Amie, you will be pleased with the box, excellent quality fabric as usual, really soft hand. I think I will make the Abby dress by Wardrobe By Me, the view A without the tier and ruffles, it looks like the sleeve has a facing so I might put the facing in the outside on the bias for effect. Let me know what you decide to make, if you don’t have the All In Easy Fit Shirt pattern it is an excellent pattern, most of my shirts are made from this pattern. Have a great sewing week, Deb 🪡🧵💕

Love watching the unboxing from the Dahlia Sewsociety - unfortunately since retiring on a stricter budget I am unable to afford it but can relive through seeing yours. I do love all of the fabric and your patterns so looking forward to seeing your makes. Kristen has such good quality fabric and haberdashery - very interested in that tape that you purchased.

Beautiful fabric in your bespoke box. I have the Savannah dress pattern. It's a lovely dress. Who doesn't love a peppermint crisp. The Abby dress by Wardrobe and me is a lovely dress with a tie. Have a good week

@@libbybennett3067 I knew I had heard of it, I checked my pattern files and didn’t have it so I now purchased it, and I think I will make up the green fabric using that pattern, dad you use elastic in the waist or a self tie?

Beautiful fabric in the box and great advice re cutting a yolk on the bias. Not something I do often but is definitely noted. I do like the iron on bias tape too. Not made the Elodie but have made the Savannah and the Wild Wood and the bust fits really well on both. I was disappointed with my Savannah as I made the dipped hem version and you can see the inside of the fabric through the front as it drapes down at the back. I also messed up a bit with the long tie and had to have a join. (The instructions to cut the longer tie are only shown on the pattern piece itself and I missed it). All my fault. 🤦‍♀️. I am sure yours will be gorgeous. Lots of sewing lined up - Enjoy!! 😊 Lynne

@@SewMyTime Thanks Lynne, I will try to have fabric that is not white on the inside of the Savannah, as I really dislike the way you can see the inside white part of garments. Good to know the Savannah fits though, not had much luck except with the Wildwood, I have noted the long tie detail (seriously should be on the instructions not just the pattern piece). You can get a great effect cutting on the bias with a check it stripe, it’s worth the trouble. Have a great sewing week, Deb 🪡🧵💕

@@dbdesignsandsewingaustrali5668 I agree re the Savannah instructions!! In general I don’t think Atelier Jupe instructions are wonderful and I regard myself as an intermediate sewer. Hasn’t put me off the dress though. I intend making a long sleeve version with the straight hem for winter- which is fast approaching in the UK. 😊

@@SewMyTime Yes, I agree, only for someone that knows their way around patterns, certainly not for the beginner. I usually look at the pattern and can see how it would go together, but I actually read the instructions for some European patterns, Deb 🪡🧵💕

@@silk_n_vintage_etc2643 hi Susan, I haven’t tried the Roseclair, I can see it has bust darts and waist darts so it would be a good one to try, I find the darts help the bust area stay in place. I think I will be going down a woven dress rabbit hole 😂😂. Have a great sewing week, Deb 🪡🧵💕
