Great guide, as always! This encounter was much more fun to run than I initially anticipated-- I thought the race aspect of the two tunnels worked pretty well, and the fight was interesting. Wish I had had the different stat block you give, that sounds way cooler! I just thought of a great idea which I wish I had thought of in the moment. What if the giant shark *is* the spear? Like, the spear is a moon-touched spear that, if submerged under water, can be turned into a giant shark with the teleportation abilities, like the Staff of the Python? Once the shark is killed, it reverts to its spear form, until it regains the charge at midnight. It's been in shark form and left "unkilled" for centuries in the grotto, or perhaps it's meant to be an additional prize that the Elders present to the contestants?
