These are really, really beautiful and are worth money. If I had a chance, I would be digging them too. But unfortunately, they are not diamonds. Diamonds are formed from carbon 100 miles or more below the crust of the earth in the mantle where the temperature is 2,700 degrees and the pressure is tremendous. It takes 1 billion to 3.5 billion years to create. It is brought to the surface by a material called kimberlite and not all volcanoes are kimberlite volcanoes. they are very, very rare.
