@tmichellemd111 You're right. Not an ER so there was a fair amount of creativity needed to lack of real equipment. We are nurses now! Just graduated 2 1/2 months ago :) This video was from when we were only 7ish months in.
I'm in med school I'm becoming a emergency room nurse I'm enjoying med school and I'm excited to become a ER nurse I'm almost done. I love watching these skits and all that.
I love that they put the woman into a wheelchair and wheel her to a seat approximately a foot away from where she was standing. Also that's the emptiest "ER" I've ever seen. :-P
The ER treated me and my mom like dirt once bc they thought I was lying when I told them time and again I lived with my parents, I showed them my ID card, went through 20 same questions, etc while looking at a computer screen all the time. Some just think about the next paycheck, they look at low pain tolerance, everywhere except the paitent. So haven't been back 2 ER since.
"Work a wheelchair!" (ha, ha! We'll just let someone who claims to have graduated from an accredited nursing school just hang in the ER with us and help the fellow patients as a volunteer!). Why not let her dispense some meds, too - and give her a raise!
Asking all those questions when she has Chest pain. Imagine if that was a real life scenario this would totally be a fail! Lol the other male nurse not even using gloves!?.. this is hilarious
a nurse forgot to give me my medicine once. a very important one. even after i told her that i should be taking it right now, she still said it wasnt on the paperworks. nurses should really triple check everything that relates to a persons health. i ended up taking it 6 hours late.
T1ger8oi well if it’s not on the paper it could have been the pharmacy or physician who missed it and didn’t order it. She should have inquired into that because you had asked for it
Exactly! Known as the "5 rights of patient medication administration". Right: 1) "Patient" ; 2) "Drug"/Medication; or even "vitamin" ; 3) "Dose" 4) "Route" [of administation (pill/ swallow/crush,whole; capsule--swallow/break and swallow with or without food/water/liquid; IV / IM/ suppository; elixir/syrup, etc.]. 5) "Time." ----> Some propose: "6 rights of patient medication administration"; which adds the 6th element to this list (which is always required: "6) "Documentation".

Even for the "NCLEX" and for "ACLS exam" ; and "EMT" exams: chest pain/ heart attack: "MONA" : "1) morphine, 2) oxygen (O2 gas form) ; 3) "nitro" [nitroglycerin] ; 4) "aspirin" [which is "ASA" ; or, "asa" - for "acetylsalicylic acid"] . Note of interest: The "aspirin" works much faster/ and much better, if the patient "chews it" and then swallows it- even though it tastes bitter!
Hello!!! This is a dialysis clinic!!!! Im a patient in one and I guarantee you I know the difference between an emergency room, dialysis clinic, operating room, and any other part of the hospital you can think of. Are you kidding me????? LMAO!
Good question! And really; proper triage assessment; SBAR ; or PQRS at least; 18 / Date of birth? Ask when pain and/or other symptoms first started? And/or worsed to point she felt she needed urgent/emergency care assessment/treatment?
