2000-2001? I loved these videos, I believe I still have On Video Fall 2000 with Pat Duffy on VHS, totally orange tape like Photosynthesis. I remember in June 2001 when On Spring 2001 came out, me and my friend were watching it in D.C. That was the one with the story behind Hubba Hideout but it's really memorable because of P.J. Ladd's intro, so good. He also had an equally good intro in Zoo York E.S.T., the original one. 1996-2003 was an awesome era of skateboarding. I could skate around good in the early 90s but got my first real complete for my birthday back in 1997. World Industries classic devilman 👿 logo, Indy trucks and Bam Margera Landspeed 53mm wheels way back even before Toy Machine - Jump Off a Building, btw it was Bam who actually"jumped off a building" lol.
Wanna hear something funny? I ripped this video for the internet. I actually emailed the On Video staff and complained I couldn't find this anywhere to purchase and they mailed me the dvd for free. I later uploaded it to IRC and 21 years later, here we are.
I‘ll always have major respect for what skateboarding is. I’ve got Titanium Thunders & Spitfire Lock-ins that I will not ever part with. I only skated with friends back then and now we all live in different cities. We all quit or ended friendships after high school and so the memories are all that’s left. I relive them on RU-vid & cheer on the new generation because they really are killing it & raising the bar. Flip in flip out was something only pros did back then. I watch the mywar videos thrasher put out. If I meet someone that’s into it, I will grab & deck and shoes without hesitation. Not sure where you guys are age wise but if you’re in HS, film as much of your skate shenanigans as you can because it’s highly likely you’ll quit when you graduate. My time was 2002 to 2008 so my footage is just one ramp kick flip video and it doesn’t display right on modern computers. I rode Indy stage VIII’s. In Bloom was my most watched skate video and it’s the biggest skate nostalgia bomb for me followed by the Emerica vids.
why does Ellingtons wiki say nothing about his history at Emerica? I remember him being a huge part of that team back in the day and all they have is his appearances in the videos
thank god for tony hawks old ass games teaching me the pros of skating when i was just a baby, i remember playing against the boss (reynolds) n it took me forever. idk why lmao but since then ive always keep an eye on drew and ive never been disappointed!
hire me I'll build ramps & keep the place clean... just got my first pair of emerica shoes on ebay for only $20 they are so sick. Had tons of fun at skatepark today.
This is old, there not living in the Emrica mansion anymore, they rented the place out so everyone could get together and film for This Is Skateboarding. Thats a real fun way to live tho.
