So true story - it was really late when I was going through all this, and for the life of me I couldn't find the box that was in the "MD" area. I gave up and moved on with the mission, only to have the realization that... oh no... it's absolutely still back in that first area. I reloaded my save (which I fortunately had). So I lost a good hour of progress lol

The sadder fate is what happens if you leave the robot (neither erasing nor reprograming them). It's foreshadowed a bit by the text log, but you'll eventually get another message from 1R-ONC-LAD. Returning shows the robot holding a rifle and the corpse of Erwin Kirsch at it's feet. A text log showed the last message sent from 1R-ONC-LAD to Erwin was a request for help to be "free" from the city.

I just love the fact that first thing it played was an acoustic ver of Kerry's "Chippin In'". Tbh, I was hoping for a robot bodyguard that can tag alongside you buuuut I guess I can take this

If you reprogram him you'll eventually get a text of a photo of a record set and some guitars with him saying that he's going to fully take up music. I'm still trying to find his little set up to see if there's more to it

If you picked up the quest at first and only remembered about it later on but can't find the prompt on the first box, go back to the robot and link up on the computer next to him, this will re-enable the quest.
