I got a TvP cheese for you. 1 base 1/1/1. Continuous marine production, tech lab factory but you proxy the starport. Make a medivac from the starport and insta boost it back home to pick up your 2 tanks and move across the map with everything. Meanwhile after the medivac finishes you start a liberator and everything should arrive at your opponents natural at the same time. Bring some scvs for bunkers. Simultaneous sieging 2 tanks and a lib is pretty devastating for a player that is unprepared.
how much does the timing change if you dont proxy the starport and start the lib first and then make the medivac and boost it too meet up with the tanks?
Fly a barracks (or factory) into your opponents base, but have a mine on the low ground. Then when they attack your barracks, they surround your structure and the mine shoots the workers :)
I know its called "Weapon Refit" but the entire ship is built around a gun so how are you refitting the ship?? Also its fun to think that there's a Starcraft 1 dev who was a Space Battleship Yamato fan and made the battlecruiser unit which kept its Yamato cannon all the way to Starcraft 2
@@ieaturanium574 I am afraid so as well, but it would be hilarious. Just imagine you are playing vs someone and you get scanned like 1.5 minutes after the game starts. Then a new scan every 30 seconds... You think "man, this guy is a complete idiot!". If the challange is to hard you can adjust by saying only the first scan, or the first x scans should be used or something.
40 minutes of Harstem getting angry at his opponents for accidentally outplaying him by using wrong responses to the strategy he wants them to believe he's going for. 😅
IDEA FOR BGMWSS: Playing as zerg, burrow banelings in opponent's mineral lines before the bases are taken. Make sure not to accidentally block common structure positions and give yourself away!
Harstem at 12:51 Nothing significant happened Harstem at 18:57 Either I watched IODIS (my favorite type of videos) too much or it's just my sick imagination, but I already see the IODIS complaint form: Dear Captain, Terrans are broken. I had a ridiculously good start when my opponent blocked my natural with a bunker - I thought he is an idiot (22:17) - and then I saw proxy barraks, but he didn't build a single unit out of it. So it did nothing, he landed factory at my main, lost it and did nothing, tried a double drop killed 4 probes and 2 phoenixes, lost it, so the damage was insignificant. My macro was PERFECT, but his eco was at the same level with that bad debut. Yes, I had a few issues with micro, collecting every single mine when I moved out, but the vikings... this unit is completely broken! My opponent just killed every single phoenix I had, shot my colossi from the distance, landed and tore apart the rest of my once mighty army. So please tell me, are terrans IMBA or do I suck? Sincerely, Minesweeper
This is why I watch Harstem, stupid builds that are fun to think about, but execution needs to be perfect and it usually isn't. So both the fun Harstem has up front as well as the surprise when he looses are just entertaining.
I was the same. If you want to check it out, it’s free to play. And if competitive isn’t your thing there is single player campaign and a co-op mode I’m hopelessly addicted to.
I like the concept of this fake proxies, but it could be very good that you punish the opponent for making bad responses. Is that possible or you just simply need to hold on the strategy that you choose?
honestly u should have just built marines and put them in the bunker against that protoss like you would still be beating grandmasters with stupid stuff
You should have punished him for not responding correctly to your proxy bunker, and just changed tactics and put marines in it. Easy win, I would not have faulted you for it. If someone doesn't fall for the bluff, make it not a bluff.
I like how he just laughs to himself the whole time believing hes so sneaky but then the plans dont work at all and hes just massively behind. How he even won 1 game is amazing, maybe try again as protoss so the gameplay is at 6K+ mmr?
Harstem the issue is you're assuming what they're going to do, why wouldn't they try to break your buildings? Of course they would. Should've just built marines and reapers out them if that's what they were going to do and save the funny proxy stuff for the ones who played "properly". (If you're expecting ladder people to play like pros that's your issue not theirs lol)
Shouldn't have run with the SCV to the proxy at the start... The opponnent would see it sooner or later anyways and it wouldn't look ridiculously baity/stupid. If you'd really try the proxy you'd avoid going towards it at all cost, not run the reaper into its vision. You'd still avoid doing that 100%, you'd never tell the SCV to go out the base towards that direction if you've got a proxy there. That's just ridiculous.
i understand why harstem is so frustrated, the one thing he's supposed to be able to rely on in this series is that his opponents are in fact grandmasters, but they're pulling out silver builds lol

In the first game, why Harstem said the right counter is to build a supply depot near the flown in barracks? why a supply depot will help in that situation?
The supply depot gives vision on the place he was going to land the barracks. It doesn't stop the barracks, but once the player knows its there, they can probably stop it with anything. The depot is normally built there for that same reason - sort of, usually you are watching for reapers rather than proxy barracks, but the idea is the same.
i think harstem expecting mindgames to work, but he is too low elo at this point, needs to get higher elo so he actually plays vs good enough players that his things work again ^^
okay i have a serious question and u can call me dumb if you like , but the intro of u speaking about the video in the start is it done before or after the gameplay , how your gameplay cam perfectly matches , you speak right after the intro is done ? how does this work
Record the gameplay first, in the first game wait x number of seconds before you start talking about the game. After recording, fill in those x seconds with an intro. If x is too big, just start the gameplay footage later to adjust.
A good magician never reveals his tricks. But I am a starcraft II player so I'll tel you: The first game I play i keep my big mouth shut for 60 seconds or so. Afterwards I record the voice over which will be between 30-45 seconds. I make sure that the end of the voice over synchronizes with the end of the " silent" period. I cut off the footage from the silent period that isn't needed and tadaa we have the final product.
the first game was close, if you didnt A-move on the starport and focussed on the workers i think you couldve done enough eco damage to TP back to help your main base. I think the focus on workers for the first BCs is essential until there are enough vikings/marines to deal with the BCs are about. Force him to move the vikings back to deal with the BC's and then TP ontop of the forward tanks when the vikings return, the old cat and mouse trick.
Dear Harstem, How is terran not imba? In this game, my opponent stupidly builds a bunker in my natural instead of an ebay. I cleverly send my probe to the third, so that the nexus timing is not too late. I defend really well against his proxy mines and transition into phoenix colossus. Then, the stupid terran just turtles up and by the time I made my way across the map, they built several OP vikings and ghosts, anihilating my army. Are ghosts and vikings imba or do I suck?
i do not claim to be any kind of professional or know what im talking about, but it feels that everytime harstem uses bc:s he just sits with them most of the time with only a small ammount of micro. i feel like bc:s should be used more like a run by with quickly changing positions and angels dealing damage all the time somewhere
BGMWSS idea: As terran, you must use a command center as your main wall. Lifting and dropping it in order to let units in. When you expand, you can move the CC to the wall of your natural, but it must be your "front gate".
You losing barracks scouting in enemy base and realizing after you needed it sounds soo familiar.. like some other dutch pro player who even has terran as main made same mistake, several times.. :D
We are now at the point where his builds and videos are hurting each other. Cheesiest man alive gets beat because they watched greediest man alive and just get a 3rd that is not an appropriate response hahaha
Not that I'm a StarCraft definiologist, but to me a cheese tries to target one specific element that if executed properly can only be countered with a tedious or specific reaction. Stupid stuff just baffles your opponent into thinking what on earth is this? And maybe it works. There's some overlap in the venn diagram of cheese and stupid stuff though.
@@bac1308 I think really it's just about timing. Cheese has to be extremely fast. Also you probably have to wreck your long term plans to pull it off. And maybe have to do it all on one base. At least that's the way it plays out in these shows.
The way I see it, cheese is intended to either put pressure on an opponent that doesn't know how to respond or force an opponent into a micro-intensive game. They're also pretty low investment - if you fail to barracks+bunker proxy, that doesn't instantly put you out of the running. On the other hand, BGMWSS is intended to win against opponents that respond in a correct or normal manner. Hence why Harstem was annoyed in the 2nd game with his opponent not responding "correctly" to the bunker + barracks play. In a similar vein, his AFK BGMWSS is predicated on his opponent seeing an "AFK" base, getting greedy, and pulling every worker to attack. If his opponent doesn't scout fast enough or doesn't decide to worker all-in, Harstem is super behind in terms of macro.
I saw Harstem at Homestory cup once. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued watching the live games going on, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to the bar to get a beer I saw him trying to pour some drink he brought from outside in his empty beer bottle without the bartender noticing. The bartender was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to buy a drink from the bar, unless it's something for a medical condition.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear him, but eventually turned back around and said 'ok, I guess I'll take your cheapest beer'. When he brought him a beer and opened it he said he didn't like that brand and will not pay for it. The bartender said ok and attempted to get the just opened bottle but Harstem grabbed it first with his fast SC2 hands and ran away winking.
Idea for beating GMs with stupid stuff: Shy buildings. You have to cancel any building that get scouted. Once buildings are fully built they are fine and so are Protoss warp-ins and Zerg morphs
