He didn’t almost do anything to Volk. The crowd got excited but Volk was in no danger. Multiple times Brian applied submissions and none of them were effective because Volk is WAY stronger and Brian is a weakling.

I just don’t get it. 145 almost isn’t even mma, no one even attempts to put Max on his back. When Ortega took that horrific beating, I thought about this fight and wondered why the game plan was never to change course if the fight wasn’t going well on the feet. Ortega’s bjj is so fucking slick I wish he would have stopped the boxing shit and at least have tried to make Max roll with him. Literally no one makes Max wrestle or anything.
