It's somewhat sad but bittersweet to see CITV come to an end. So many great shows, cartoons and anime I was introduced to (introducing me to so many voice actors from around the world too) and it also helped signify my love for the Pokémon anime and I'll forever be grateful for all the memories.

Some great picks on here. Mike & Angelo unlocked a core memory for me, I'd forgotten all about it but seeing that spinning pyramid brought it all back! My all time favourite show had to be Knightmare. It was so ahead of it's time, and the theme music is stuck in my head to this day.

Knightmare is good and yes very ahead of it's time, the only reason it's not in my Top 10 is it's before my time. First time I saw an episode fully was when I was about 18 when they re-ran them on Challenge.

*Sighs* The only good thing about this, is it inspired you to make another video, as it's always a joy seeing your work. :) I guess I grew up during CITV's golden age, growing up during the era of their 80's and 90's shows. Off the top of my head, my Top 10 in no particular order would probably be Count Duckula, Knightmare, Rosie And Jim, The Sooty Show, Art Attack, Wind In The Willows, Zzzap!, Mike And Angelo, Fun House, and Spongebob. Although unlike the others, that one isn't a homegrown show. So many fantastic shows though, pretty much all of the ones you showed, and more besides, I watched and loved. It's sad news, and the end of an era, but thanks to RU-vid, most of those great shows can still be enjoyed by those of us who grew up watching them. Nice to see you again Jack, great video as always. :)

I loved CITV as a child and I loved a lot of shows they aired. Such as Jungle Run, Ministry of Mayhem, My Parents are Aliens, Rosie and Jim, Art Attack, Jimmy Neutron, SpongeBob, but the best show of them all is definitely Eliminator! It was so good I did an animated revival of it on my RU-vid channel. The actor who played the first Eliminator Oakley Turvey had seen it and he is very impressed. He even subscribed to my channel too. I can’t believe the CEO of CITV had to stop it because he didn’t like quiz shows. Well, who needs it on CITV when we can have it on RU-vid? Maybe even on Netflix or Amazon Prime. It definitely should be on those channels. Also, since the actor who played the second Eliminator Dan Cade is a Hollywood movie actor now, this definitely calls for an Eliminator movie. Even Dan agreed as he liked my comment on Instagram.

I was more into CBBC but I did love Tots TV, Rosie and Jim, Thomas the Tank Engine and Horrid Henry. Sad to see CITV is closing. Sorry to overuse the phrase but it is the end of an era for children’s TV as a whole. I expect CBBC will eventually come to an end too.

I subscribed to your channel after my sister shared your 90s and 00s kids' show megamix video with me and that video is very good. I have fond memories of watching CITV when I was a child. My favourite programmes on there included Art Attack, Zzzap!, Finders Keepers, Fun House, Jungle Run, SM:TV Live, Alphabet Castle, Astro Farm, Rosie & Jim and Tots TV. I can also vaguely remember Bernard's Watch and Mike & Angelo. I’m sad to see CITV go 40 years after it first aired.

So sad to see the CITV brand disappear 😢, but what nostalgia! The only thing I contest - the countdown and video wasn’t LONG enough 😂. Would have happily watched this countdown for an hour. What shows, what memories: Mike & Angelo such a hidden gem with an iconic title sequence, How 2 always great with Fred, Gareth and Carol, Tots TV always used to kickstart CITV for the afternoon. Jungle Run, essentially a child’s The Crystal Maze for the noughties as you say. Art Attack - enough said, Legendary! Thank goodness for these days of RU-vid where we can relieve such classic programmes from our time!

I grew up with the same shows as you (I was born in 1992) and some of the shows you featured would be some of my faves as well, in particular Art Attack which was my fave kids TV show of all time, How 2, Jungle Run, ZZZap!, Pump It Up, My Parents Are Aliens, etc I would've added Finger Tips as well which was similar to Art Attack, and some lesser known shows like Play the Game, Scary Sleepover and Potatoes and Dragons (all of which were from around 2004-05)

CITV was my childhood. Watching the slow, agonising death of traditional television is so depressing to me. Nothing will ever compare to rushing home from school, just in time for the new episode of your favourite show, seeing all the adverts for the new big toys to beg your parents for, or those moments when you'd be channel surfing and randomly stumble across a show you loved. It's a feeling streaming services can't and will never replicate. I pity the kids of today, and of course, those who simply can't afford to bleed out money for those services constantly. It's truly the end of a wonderful era.

Shortly after The Simpsons would come on at 6PM so I had control of the tv for a good few hours. Bernard's Watch again one of my favs. My mam said to me she was thinking of putting me on Jungle Run, but were unsure on how to go about it haha. Thank you for this video. But the out of vision links between 1993 till 1998 with Steve Ryde is my favourite not just the one where Steve Ryde dress up as a reporter by wearing a large brown coat .

Sad to see it go, but there's many factors to it, mostly some of the generations grown up, more focus on online these days, most current generations don't watch TV anymore and mostly gaming and online streaming service and such, management issues or some of the entertainers or shows aren't as good as back in the day, no longer in cable tv and mostly on satellite boxes or on the likes of Sky, Virgin Media and such where not everyone has current even in this day and age theres still some that don't have such and so, and so on, love if just stays or rerun of their golden age shows and such, so yeah Honestly, only one way we can save these channels of such if we can watch and run them on streaming services, online or such, so yeah

I was always more of a CBBC fan as a kid, but I am feeling weirdly sad about CITV coming to a close (probably because it's a sign that CBBC doesn't have that many years left either). I remember when there was hype for a new series starting or a particular episode happening, and everyone had to wait to watch it at the same time so they could talk about it in the playground the day after. Your top 10 and honourable mentions are great, but there were a lot more shows that I felt should have gone in the HM to. Like you say though, the list could have gone on forever had you done so :-D These are the ones that immediately come to mind: Brum Button Moon Captain Scarlet & the Mysterons Count Dukcula Dange Mouse Grizzly Tales for Gruesome Kids Kipper Mr. Bean: The Animated Series Rainbow Thomas & Friends (been on various networks but began on ITV) Thunderbirds / Thunderbirds Are Go (I was genuinely expecting this to be N*1) Tiswas (I personally don't like it I know it's got its fans)

Tots TV was a big part of my childhood, it's so sad that the house was burned down a few years ago. 'It's a Mystery' was a good show too, one particular story I remember from that was when a couple stayed a night in an old fashioned hotel, then the next morning after they had left, the woman remembered that she had left her bag behind so they turned around and went back to the hotel only to find that it had vanished! I VERY fondly remember Citv, even though I avoided it and CBBC from 1996-1999 due to having Sky and Cartoon Network becoming my main channel (hence why I didn't discover Bernard's Watch until 2009), Citv gave us great shows like Tiny Toon Adventures, The Gingerbread Man, Old Bear Stories, Reboot, Animaniacs and Budgie The Little Helicopter and it is so fucking wrong that ITV are shutting down Citv after nearly 41 years! ITV have clearly been leaving kids programming to the wayside, what with them not even launching a Citv+1 and even going as far as to NOT exclude Citv from this "all ITV channels switching over for the Queen's funeral" shit! I know a lot of young viewers are turning to streaming these days, but I'm pretty sure things are deeper than that, as I will explain in my video, How Dare ITV Kill Citv, which premieres tomorrow night!

Finders Keepers 10. The Riddlers 11. The Magic House 12. Tots TV 13. Allsorts/Gigglish Allsorts 14. Woof! 15. ZZZap! 16. My Parents are Aliens 17. Wolves, Witches and Giants 18. Sooty & Co 19. Budgie The Little Helicopter 20. The Adventures of Grady Greenspace - I remember getting up early and seeing this in the morning and no one I know has heard of it. The English dub shown on CITV is now lost media and I have only been able to find a promo clip from CITV showing it and original episodes in French. Also Fun House and SM:TV Live. Like many boys who watched Fun House, I used to like Martina and Melanie. On Saturday mornings I used to first watch Live & Kicking and then switch over to SM:TV live and hope I didn't miss much of it. I loved parts like Wonky Donkey, Challenge Ant, Chums and I also remember "Eminemerdale" and when Dec faked fainting.

I used to love watching CITV when I was a kid. Fun House, How 2, Zzap, SMTV Live and Round the Bend are just a short list of favorite shows of mine that aired on the after school block (well, except for SMTV Live which was on Saturday mornings). While it is a shame to see CITV go after all these years, it's not too much of a loss to me since... well, CITV is after all for children and children in the 2020's have different tastes in entertainment to what we 90's kids and kids of other generations had... And there are other ways to watch the shows we all loved as kids... But considering that CITV started as an after school block and slowly transitioned into a whole channel, I don't see why CITV couldn't transition from a TV channel to an online service and continue from there onwards, instead of killing off the brand and replacing it with a new brand that's exactly the same as CITV in concept just with a different name. And I think "CITV" rolls off the tongue better than "ITV X Kids".

I think the first 3 series of Knightmare were the best, before the real life scenery and co host. But the whole show was amazing and was taken off way before it's time. I was a young adult when it started and never missed an episode.

Would have loved for the most underrated show _Spatz_ to get a look in but you may have been a touch to young for that one?

@@JacksThrowbackAttack that was about the time I stopped watching it, my childhood sat squarely with the Steve Ryde era. It’s a great show though, the whole lot is here on RU-vid.

It's really sad it's ending, and I saw someone say The Rubbish World Of Dave Spud is scheduled to be the last show, so I'm guessing they aren't going out with a bang, nothing special for the last day of broadcast which is disappointing. I'm 27 so my favourite shows are similar to yours except The Worst Witch and Atomic Betty would additions on my fave Citv show, and as a kid that's not my childhood because it ended before I was born, but I discovered it at 17 when CITV had the 30th anniversary day, Press Gang, literally I brought the DVD box after that and watched it all. Although it creeped me out as a kid I do like Zzzap because I have 2 connections to it, 1. My Dad worked on it, he worked for the Media Merchants for most of my primary school years, so Art Attack, It's A Mystery, Ministry of Mayhem, Finger Tips etc all basically kept a roof over our heads 😂, so I should be thankful for Citv😅. And 2. In more recent years I worked in the shopping centre where the kid with the remote control is in the opening ( one of my former colleagues said to me once she was an extra in it, theres a shot of a couple of other people in that opening and she's one of them), so Zzzap will forever live in my memory 😅
