I've done much less sitting down and talking to camera vids this year compared to in BO3 and BO4 - do you miss this sort of stuff? Should I do it more often? Let me know !!! :)
you know, nobody is years has asked me how everything is. I gotta believe I'm not the only one, and I know you're just talking into a camera, but I figured I'd let you know that just asking that question can make a huge difference for some people. It's simple, easy, and meaningful. you're awesome
Not to mention we seem to be playing as complete nobodies instead of actual story characters. Hell, we even felt a connection with the Marines in Verruckt than CW Operators
@@Quick_footy1 i think tryarch shoulf go back to the certian characters and stuff gives it a more interests and ideas for stories and background of the characters and not stick to the operator thing
For me operator's just killed it even though I do like some other gameplay changes. It just feels like a have no connection to the game anymore. it's not even the loss of my guys that's gets me it's just the loss of connection to any playable character (I also hate chosing starting weapons, what's wrong with a 1911 for everyone to start?)
I remember being a kid and really liking Ultimis. Knowing nothing of the story (only hearing little from friends) I listened to THE 4 hour Zombies Storyline explanation on yt multiple times and trying to map out everything in my mind (+I don't own all the maps). Multiple walks were spent connecting the dots in future years and that was part of the fun for me. Wacky, fun characters, detailed, complicated story, that's satisfying to unravel and the best time playing any video game. It really feels like all of that has been cast aside from Trayarc, without a solid replacement (I understand Activision makes the decisions, I don't blame Trayarc for trying new things to improve the games). What SUCKS most is not having (imo) any truly funny and lovable characters. I dont like most of if any dialog in Cold War.
For me, the biggest difference the enjoyability of the “story” has less to do with the plot line, and more to do with the characters. In the previous stories we learned the story via the character that we were playing as. I felt more like I was experiencing the story from Tak’s perspective in one game, and from Dempsey’s the next. In other words, I was experiencing the story instead of just hearing about it from the NPC’s like do in ColdWar. Just my opinion.
Cold war zombies had me really interested at the beginning but it just doesn't feel right anymore. Really hoping the next zombies experience can get me hooked back in
I feel the exact same way. The fact that they are combining stories like warzone and outbreak it's just very hard to keep up. CW zombies died for me when they introduced the disciples in zombies. It just feels too magical like bo3
@@slimshady2446 100% agree with you. Although I would say bo3 and bo4 story arc was my favourite. Sure it was complicated but it was always fun to follow the crew. Gameplay wise I really miss that old feeling of booting up bo1 and bo2 and playing pure survival. Miss the old days
@@shadowedits1176 I think cold war has that similar kinda feeling of bo1 where the maps are simple and you can just jump in and play but i prefer the more complicated maps so the game just feels lackluster
@@seanhodgkins821 I gotta agree with with that. Bo1 maps are kinda similar in that area. I think what I miss the most is just having that feeling of wanting to know what's going on with the story. Since the bo4 story ended I just don't bother with it :(
I’ve really missed the funny characters quotes, what some zombie characters have said over the last few games have been really funny, a shame they stopped with Cold War!
I feel for ME, something that would go a long way would be character dialogue between each other and reacting to the maps, lets say Stitch and Adler were in a map together, I'd expect them to have comments about disliking each other, to a point of open hostility, while Woods and Weaver would have some friendly dialogue, or even just talking about the location or whats going on more. More interaction would give lots more to the story of each map, which could give unique perspectives on the maps, like Maxis speaking in Mauer of things she's familiar with, banter between the radio and some of the enemies, I feel Cold War just needs to give a personality to its operators for Zombies and it'll propel it to the next level for everyone, still needs tweaks here and there though. Either way, great video, and I wanna see how this story ends!
That would be cool but then that will have to take a lot of time for thousands of lines look at what Craig houston said about how many pages of character dialog for the aether cast
You hit me when you said “how are you doing? Are you doing alright” You’re as human as they come, thank you and I hope your day, week, month and rest of the year goes well. Thank you for all of your videos you really brought me back to zombies. Thank you. Wishing the best.
Just my opinion but this zombies season has been extremely disappointing considering that the zombies is actually fun and the guns are decently balanced but treyarch put most of their focus on outbreak which is a big shame.
I really like the outbreak mode personally. Round base is good and all but it gets mental pretty quickly so you just end up training for high rounds which for me is boring. I’m a casual player so outbreak is great for just running around and looting etc.
I was so scared to watch the video when I read “THE END”… but still went through it and man, I honestly agree with you, I loved this experience in CW zombies, very excited for Vanguard Zombies and looking forward for the next chapter on this story, guess we’ll have to wait a few years… you’re awesome dude and I hope to see you around eternally… not sure about opening another chanel for a different content maybe just playlists on this chanel… good to see you always… greetins from Chile dude!!! 🇨🇱
One concept I haven't really seen advanced throughout the season is the role of the Dark Aether. Like on Die Maschine, it felt like there was a palpable distinction between the location where the operators we're deployed to and the Dark Aether affected version of that map. Think that something along those lines in each of the maps might have helped made it more of a memorable experience for our operators (given they don't play an active role in progressing the narrative story as you mentioned). Don't feel like our understanding of the DA has advanced all that much (like Maxis has been there, but us as operators have not). Made it kinda hard to get invested into the story when the enemy/threat is more obscure/hidden within intel than past years. Maybe something for DLC 4 :)
@@malikwhite5755 This was also the first game I regularly used Mule Kick, since now you can get your lost weapon back Before I never bothered since losing Mule Kick would take away your 3rd gun forever
@@Spideryote yeah I used to hate that sometimes I randomly thought I was good enough to go round 100 on shadows with mule kick but literally lost it round 40 with wonder weapon then I just never took it lol
Honestly, not playing as captivating, important, set characters with dialogue had really pulled me away from zombies, usually I don’t mind change but for this reason, I just can’t connect with it.
Actually there was a new audio you could find in one of the new regions. It explains that he's actually the spirit you free from the new chest after destroying the 3 orbs. The Forsaken One puts him back however, and it's an endless cycle
0:52 I appreciate that so much bro. It's been a hard time for me and I'm sure for everyone as well. This intro made me feel like I wasn't alone. Thanks man 💯
Honestly instead them having to realese Zombies in different games every year should change. I would really like a Standalone Zombies game where they include every Zombies map ever, and than they can realese $10 DLC Map moving forward. I just don't like the COD games getting abandoned a year later and having to pay $70 for a similar game. Hopefully things change, specially with Zombies
Same, but I'm still wondering if they will ever release any remastered BO2 maps...or if it's just a rumor in the die hard community. Even if they have the map assets of buried, I just don't see how they would release it while having people play as operators. Unless they release a Russelman operator lmao.
@@danielburriss7827 I’m a huge fan of the intel, I like how the story is more grounded in reality, I also enjoy that it’s clearly connected to the old story, but is entirely new simultaneously. There are also many plot lines building up in the intel always which keeps things exciting. A lot of the characters have really good writing (peck Valentina and Sam are my favs easily). will say the cutscenes (outside of mauer outro) have been pretty disappointing though. There is also mystery for the first time in years on what is going to happen next, before we knew what our goal was and where we were going, but now we have no clue! It’s so exciting that dlc 4 could be going anywhere! This is also just the very beginning of a new story, think about how little world at war had, and then how it evolved into blundells story, I have a feeling Cold War is gonna keep evolving the story slowly but surely until it gets so intricate like the old aether story.
That really sat with me when you asked how everyone’s doing and if everyone’s alright, especially given the past 2 years. A level of compassion and empathy for your viewers/subscribers that many other youtubers simply don’t have anymore. Thank you Milo keep up the great work♥️
The problem with re using characters from mp and campaign is that in zombies they will not have any character arcs or character progression whatsoever They will have one in the campaign They might have one in the multiplayer cutscenes between seasons But they will not have one in zombies, because it breaks the cannon of the previously mentioned modes
Well ur wrong if they were Set Operators like only 4 characters like Woods Weaver Hudson Mason or Samantha and Eddie Weaver Woods it would’ve been so good
This right here they had the 80’s to play with and the map locations have been boring as fuck don’t get wrong on paper Vietnam sounds great dense jungle and unground tunnels? Sign me up but we just got another abandoned base yet again
One thing I really like about the Zombies/Outbreak experience this year, is the gameplay. Super satisfying and a lot has probably to do with the cross platform, since most the people I play with play on PS4 where I play on PC. The game and server crashes has been a bit annoying, but for the most part it's been a enjoyable experience. Story is a bit lack luster.
Cold war's story feels incomplete. Going from map to map and how they relied so much on intel makes each maps story plus whole overall story feel boring and dull.
I thought of him finishing BOTD EE with Noah and Richtofen lines during the cutscene, "I'M THE ONE WHO DID ALL THE HARD WORK!!" "You won't... even... remember me..."
Minor QoL change: I’d like equipment to auto-pickup when my slot was empty so that I could just use it without having to worry about gathering it but could still stockpile my preferred equipment if I chose to do so.
I feel on paper CW zombies should be good. However, it’s missing the vibe and life the older games possessed. Even Bo4, though it’s regarded as a bad game, I still feel like it has that authentic zombies touch it’s predecessors also had. CW tries to mix the supernatural and ordinary and I don’t believe it sticks.
imo it might be because of the lack of original characters. If they ditched the op characters, 3arch couldve recreated the vibe of original zombies maps.
I agree. Although there are new cool things like being able to have all perks at the same time, all the round-based maps are not better than older cod zombies maps. Tag der totem was better than all CW maps combined! Outbreak is not bad though
@@chimbeto2724 its the fact that it feels like an arcade the fear of going down is not there I can walk up to a zombie and slap em over n over in bo1-2 I wouldn’t dare to get close to a zombie unless Its round 1-5 the zombies in CW just feel like easy Targets
@@chimbeto2724 well for like the last 3 seasons we’ve been teased with Richtofen and Dempsey but nothing still, I’m hoping we see at least 1 of the OG zombie squad next season
Hey Milo, I've been a big fan of your channel since the early days but I don't usually comment 😉 Your Zombies guides are literally the best on the Internet! Personally, I really enjoy hearing about what you have to say. You have an intellectual take on the World that is really refreshing to hear. With regard to other content? I would love to see a "how to" video on chicken vindaloo 😆 (other meat based currys are available) Whatever you decide to do, just keep being you, and thanks for what you do 😊
I've been watching you for 5-6 years now and at this point I really do care about how you're doing dude, and I'm sure many others do as well. That being said, if making separate channels is a viable option for you to express different outlets than Zombies, you should ABSOLUTELY do it. I've noticed you haven't been quite as personal with your audience this year which is understandable, and it made this sit-down that much better to me. You articulate things in a consistent and meaningful way and I'd love to see more of these kinds of videos again if you miss it too. :)
World at war - invested Black ops - omg this is unreal Black ops 2 - give me the normal guys Black ops 3 - THIS IS GODLY!!! Black ops 4 - I'm gonna give this a shot Cold War - I just can't back this
I wasn’t doing the best but your videos always put me in a good mood because you’re my favourite RU-vidr. Thank you for all your content, and thank you for making amazing videos
Just started playing zombies with COD watched your videos to see what I should be doing to get better. Hope the next zombies is as enjoyable. Both the round based and outbreak are great!
I was disappointed when I learned that we would most likely have the operator system in vanguard. I really think that killed any and all personality in Cold War. I really liked the creepy atmosphere in WW2 so I low key hope Sledgehammer has a some sort of a word on what’s going on with Zombies.
thank you for all the videos over the years always loved every bit you brought and talk about personally love bo3 and bo2 zombies so I'm definitely excited for the vanguard zombies being taken over by trierarch look forward to hear more from you!!!
Short answer: it feels soulless this year. Honestly, BO3 was the last game that really felt like zombies. As much as I've enjoyed playing the new game and several of the new components, its just... cold.
@@nogood9836 there’s nothing interesting with this story they managed to make me think samantha is a boring character I wish they left the story at tag
I’ve been playing zombies since WaW and I absolutely love outbreak. It’s nice to go to when you’re trying to not to sweat super hard and don’t really need to think about. I also love that the different CoD creators are taking a huge step and working on the same game together
I really love the gameplay and the whole upgrading system, like how you can earn crystals and upgrade tiers , I really like that and I like the flow of the gameplay. But it’s so annoying (to me ) that you have to go out of your way to find hundreds of intel to really have any clue what’s going on in the story. Not to mention a lot of them are actually pretty hard to find to the point where you have to look up a whole guide just to get them.
I appreciate you asking how we feel. My mother recently passed away and my grandpa also passed so my year hasn’t been great. But with my favorite youtuber asking me how i am makes me feel happy inside. So Milo thank you for that and keep pushing on with the great content! Much love! ❤️
I feel like one of the biggest driving forces of intrigue for previous games was both the characters and the mysteries laid out in black ops 1 and 2. Black ops 1 especially with the comic book loading screens and the bizarre jump between locations made you feel excited to learn what was happening since they didn't spell it out to you. Cold War kind of just throws the story right into your face with dialogue and text which takes away the veil of mystery in my opinion.
To be fair, that point in time was peak zombies; and Black Ops 3 still is the best game to play Zombies right now. Between the *mostly* good new maps, all the remastered ones (The Giant and all the ones that came with Zombie Chronicles), and then Custom Zombies, it's just very difficult to top and it still sits unrivaled.
I feel this iteration has a lot less character than previous zombies iterations. I don't just mean in relation to operators, although they also lack unique characteristics, but in the maps. In WaW, BO1, BO2, BO3 and to extent BO4 you had this mad ww2 scifi with the style of the wonder weapons and all the machinery and stuff littered around the maps, there's very little of that on CW. Firebase z for example is literally and couple of office prefabs with a couple generators and a teleporter thrown in, Maur is 90% just a street. There's also a lot less hidden stuff in the map, there's very little side Easter eggs like the moon dog, panzer helmet, masks like in BO3. Throughout CW I found myself constantly going back to BO3 and custom zombies
I had fun. But I'd like main characters back, and the old point system where each bullet gets you points. The new idea was cool but there's really no reason to not use only shotguns and wonder weapons only now imo
I love how raptor one is the only one with any “emotional connection” but it’s actually just a meme, no one truly cared, it’s just funny pilot man nearly died oh no!
Imagine retelling the original story of Tank, Nikolai, Takeo, and Richtofen through an outbreak mode where you complete an objective or Easter egg and move to the next map. Starting with a Remake of the 1st four original maps. They already have a layout for nacht der untoten.
I like this style video, I like to hear about you, and I also like hearing your opinions on the good and the bad. Can’t speak for others but 10/10 would watch again.
What I personally believe is that people don’t like multiplayer as much anymore especially the one who n Cold War they know this and they probably also know the zombies community are pretty loyal through each game so they probably want to push more people to play zombies the community will get bigger and they’ll stick to cod no longer for the multiplayer but for zombies I mean what other reason is there they are adding zombies to each game because they know this
More chats with Milo would be very nice :) And would be happy to see different stuff on this channel. Also I’ve enjoyed the Cold War maps for a few rounds but the personality of it feels a bit dry and I find myself going back and playing BO1-3 for zombies my zombies fix
The operator element of cw creates a huge player disconnect between themselves and the story, instead of feeling like you are the story you feel like you're spectating fragments of it yet somehow involved, it's messy and weird when you can play as maxis rescuing herself or weaver etc, it's so odd to me that they don't have a separate operator and set character story version where the only difference is the main Easter egg in those modes, can still monetize 4 set characters instead of adding bland characters in all the time, just my opinion but I feel like I speak for all my friends who have grown up enthusiastic about all story details to only feel left out to dry by cold wars' story.
For those that see this your input is welcome. Would you want them to bring in the old story arc or just start over? Or if you have an idea to fix this let’s hear it!
@@owenflamm6118 they tried that with BO4 though no one really cared about the characters or storyline. Like it'd be good to have something new but it's hard to try and come up with something quite as Iconic as the Aether storyline. I think Milo is right in saying the Dark Aether storyline works, they just need to change how we get the information. If we played as characters who interacted with each other, giving exposition and making jokes with/at each other (like previous games). It would make everyone start learning about the story passively, would build a connection to the characters and would also make co-op online feel a little less lonely when no one has mics. I wouldn't be against the old story coming back, but if that can't happen... I like having Maxis and possibly Eddie as a nod to previous years. Just think they need to work on how the story is conveyed. Thanks for reading my novel 😂
Thank you for asking about me and how I’m doing. No one really has asked me recently, so that’s nice to hear when I tune into the video. Please keep up the great content MrRoflWaffles
The movement system and being able to mantle up and off lots of different things in the enviroment is really good, not really that impressed though with how buggy the game has been at times. Have enjoyed the game besides that, ps i am not too bothered about the story but optimistic it can be more improved.
The only thing i feel they should change about zombies is the shield system. They should bring back the bo4 shield but have the price to repair it the same and not have it increased everytime its broke. Also individual perk machines should be slightly cheaper than the wonderfizz for more of an incentive to go to them
No shield it was a nightmare to remember 9 different spots for 3 pieces the armour system was good because even if you get hit it reduces the damage intake the shield didn't do that
literally without videos, 90% of the player base won’t know who Zykov is because they won’t have gone for every bit of dark aether intel like others (including me)
Im honestly a huge huge fan of the easter eggs for each map the story that completing each one reveals. When me and my cousin completed mauer easter egg were both jaw dropped at the final cut scene
I personally love how Cold War's story has been coming along. Finding audio intel in Outbreak is really exciting, cause it's fun to learn of new twists and theorize about the direction that the story is going. I do wish that the operators had more dialog and actually interacted though. They need more personality. That, and the maps should have more interesting opening cutscenes.
The thing that was so great about the previous games, BO3 especially, was that with every map you were eager to see what happens to the characters, but with operators there’s sort of an emotional disconnect because it’s not like if the story takes a dark turn that anyone of much importance is going to die.
Trying my best to keep my head up, but I appreciate you asking even if it’s not to me specifically. I’ll take that as a sign to do better in my lobster world❤️ love the content
I have a suggestion to the operator problem in zombies. They could simply make operators that have unique voice lines in zombies. All the multiplayer operators are in zombies, but why can’t we have zombies operators that interact with the map and other zombies characters. You’d still be able to pick any character you want but if you pick the recommended zombies operators, they will fit right in with the map. I’m not sure if my point is getting across or not. I’m just saying that having at least four characters that are made for this certain zombies map will make the experience so much better. You can pick any multiplayer character that says stuff like “Zombie KIA” or you can pick a zombies operator that was made with this map in mind. I hope I explained it well enough, because I have never seen anyone talk about this and I personally think that it will be good for the sales and the players, since these operators can still be used for multiplayer too and maybe they can have new bundles and skins with the release of new maps that have that same zombies operator in mind.
Truthfully, didn’t know who Zikoff is till I did some studying w your videos. I think if they kept it the same I wouldn’t be sad, but something I’ve loved about zombies over the years are the little changes from game to game that keep it fun and interesting to play (perks, map functions, fun mechanics, etc. ) Love all the vids u make milo at the chatting ones are awesome too! Definitely enjoyed this one and it’s style.
