As a sneakerhead you are talking for yourself buddy. I got nothing against anyone wearing reps, especially when I came across reps having better quality then legit ones I paid my hard earned money for. What I do have an issue with is companies and resellers, anything that can show em the big middle one. I am all up for it.
If you buy fakes on purpose you just letting people know you a desperate hypebeast who just can’t move on from exclusive products you can’t afford. It’s cringe. Stop going around making people feel sorry for you it’s not fair to them lmao
@@NE0C0R7EX let me make a small change to your argument and use it to prove you are a desperate hyperbeast who wants to convince others that you are "rich". Oh wait I didnt even need to make any change to your statement to do that, it did on its own. If you buy any sneaker to show off to other folks, you indeed are cringe. Not once have I ever bought a pair to show off, if I see a good pair on someone I appreciate those. Dont care about em if they are reps or not, no judgment. Now go and LAMO on this one.
@@paulishpaul💯 The more the hype fades the less it’s something you “need to have” and the more cringe and desperate you look for going out your way to get fake expensive stuff
It’s either fitting in, standing out or saving money when these kids buy reps. It’s gotta be tough growing up these days with social media throwing lifestyle after lifestyle at you constantly.
We know you don’t care if they’re fake. You only care if other people know they’re fake lmao gotta make sure they’re 1:1 enough to deceive as many people as possible. Deception is very important remember
@@NE0C0R7EX bruh they're shoes, look at you're "legit" tags and what do they say? "Made in (insert South East asain country)". It's not like nike is making their shoes in Italy with top of the line high grain leathers. This gut is cool but let's be real. 90% of these hard-core sneaker ppl are dorks who look like they get NO b***he's.
Honestly the worst thing about Reps isn't even the clothes or shoes themselves, its the people who buy the hyped and trendy reps under the guise of "I'm just trying find my style".
@@NE0C0R7EX well that's cuz they know their parents ain't finna fork out 1000 dollars for some shoes. My daughter is in middle school and I buy her reps. She loves em.
Very articulate....love how you relate topics to other influences within the market, like that you go through the details and actually read article's compared to headline posting content with mainly releases and click bait mentions rather than navigating the actual details of wtf is actually going on in the sneaker market.
I have real and reps. I never consider anyone else’s thoughts on it or think too deeply on it. I have a bunch of sick shoes I wear lol. Interesting analysis though, always appreciate the vids
i have no hate for fake sneakers if they can basically pass the eyeball legit check. a lot of these fakes are getting so good you just cant tell without an app and even those guys get this wrong like 10% of the time. seems arbitrary that a "real" sneaker and a "fake" sneaker look 95% the same, but one is trash and the other is worth $1K. kinda dumb. NOW if you are buying fakes to sell as real, you are a POS. buying fakes to wear yourself is absolutely fine.
the problem with sneakers honestly is that theyre made of cheap materials that are easily replicable since most of the budget gets spent on advertising its kind of hard to justify buying real ones when the only difference is construction rather than actual quality of the materials
I dont really dont care if people rock reps. Its their money, they can do what they want. The only reason why I dont is because I find it too much of a hassle to get them. I rather take my L and move on, or dip into the secondary market. I wouldn't mind having a pair of reps for the novelty of it though. I hear some reps are made out of better material's than the real sneaker.
“Broken models beg disruption.” Doubt reps will die out anytime soon, as long as this artificial scarcity model exists. But this def feels like a mega game changer going forward. While it’s not apples to apples, this is kindaaa similar to the Napster moment in 2003, where the P2P music and video sharing movement forced the industry to lead rather than get annihilated. I’m curious to see where things go from here. Middlemen will likely eat for the time being.
Bruh they're shoes. Even the reals tags say made in some south east Asian country like Taiwan or China or Malaysia. It's not like nike makes their shoes in Italy lol. Resellers ruined things and these "reps" ain't the bootlegs from the 90s lol. Ppl really be mad that the let daddy capitalism bend them over and they scream "more please" whole paying 1k for some shoes that were made in China. Big dumb.
@@TheRetroManRandySavage my bad I was more speaking towards the annoying young kids cuz they're the only ppl who really care about real vs rep. We have to remember when the sneaker thing was at its height, when these average wage ppl were getting a 900 dollar a week covid check while still at home with mom. They don't really have it like that they was just getting a check and spending it on shoes.
@@inalaboyy bruh they're shoes... it ain't that deep. Go to the gym, get a girlfriend, scrub your face, put serious money into your car or house... "sneakerheads" man lol.
@@MrMrHassan i mean i had my first pair of Jordan’s in 1989 but that has nothing to do w how the game is now. If Travis shoes just sat at footlocker for everyone to buy the desire for them would be gone. That’s part of the fun.
@@tellthetruth7497 never wanted no Travis’ or any calabs for that matter. I’m 47 been buying sneakers my entire life I just don’t own sneakers because of a name yes I own Jordan’s but I own lotto’s too I’m a sneaker head not a clout chaser 💪🏾
Honestly I have found a good reason to buy fakes, that is to buy colorways that do not exist. I saw this one guy rock a pair of pink jordan 1s breads and I thought it looked really cool. I wish nike would branch out to more vivid colors instead of these safe colors that everyone likes.
Just the fact Jordan can be like Yeah I had a couple over heated feelings in the past but I moved past that Is just awesome to see in a modern content creator, the guy is too legit
I've never bought reps, never will. But I do enjoy watching rep reviews, especially when they do side by side with reps vs real. I would say speaking for myself 90% of the time, I can't see the difference. Which is very tempting. The only reason I don't buy reps is because I know they are reps, and I'd rather miss out.
So is sending thousands to resellers to put shoes in a display case. Reps, retail….who cares, buy what you want and do what you want with your shoes. Just don’t be an a****** and scam people.
Who cares its only shoes i hate shoe culture these days its why i will never buy from a no life reseller. Its either retail or i wont buy it and move on
There are honestly so many pairs now days sitting in stores that you couldn’t get a few years ago, sneakers for me have kind of lost their excitement and I’m finding myself these days going for more designer brands like Rick Owen’s and Balenciaga rather that Nike and Adidas like before 🤷♂️
Enjoyed the video. With Nike restocking and giving discounts, I’ve been able to get the sneakers below retail. I agree the climate has changed. Keep up the good work.
You should buy a top tier batch of some random fake shoe and compare it to retail. That would either shut up the rep community or the retail community. Either way, its a sure way to gain traction and we can enjoy the tears from both sides!
I have both authentic and rep sneakers in my collection. I enjoy both equally, and wear them purely because I love the designs/colourways. I am yet to buy a pair of sneakers via a raffle win out of the dozens I have entered, so I turn to reps in this case if I really, really like the shoes. It's my way of sticking 2 fingers up at certain sneaker brands.
Happens to everything when it gets too big. All the old rep middlemen will be coming back strong now. There was a reason they all did it kind of in the shadows for years. Always think if kids can't even afford top tier reps then how are they supposed to even start trying to pull off a 2k fit. Also fuck nike for pulling out of selling in NZ online. :(
I've not bought reps. I wish bigger hype shoes were more widely avail though then maybe ppl wouldn't feel they have to go to great lengths and buy reps.
Got a piar of travis scott highs froma thrift store. Dont know if theyre real or not but they do feel like an actual jordan 1. Dont plan on reselling them and trying to pass them as real. Thats when it gets dirty imo
Basically everyone brought their 'favourite' shoes in the last 3 years or so probably brought 3-5 pairs...why the fuck would they need more shoes? Lol fake sneakerheadz influenced the market (resellers too)
Fuck the fakes i did what i meeded to do to buy my second pair of solefly 8s. I didnt hit in the eggplants but bought them from goat anyway. Fuck the fakes. Im poor af and made it happen
I have Both reps and Legit 4s and wether anyone wants to believe it or not the quality depending on who you buy from is damn near flawless...you get what you pay for. I have bought 4s straight from SNKRS app and the quality from Nike is hit or miss as well.
95% of the public can't tell the difference when your out living your life, The problem and issue is when people try and finesse others by trying to sell em off as legit.
I just got a pair of canary yellow Travis Scott. The reps not goin nowhere. I get both reps and real. I simply get what I like. When a market becomes over saturated, you’ll start to see the desperation from people who benefited from it the most. I also find it funny that there’s this strange hierarchy of sneaker enthusiast who will literally go broke to be “authentic”
People who don't know how to manage their finances correctly resort to buying fakies. Also children or child likes living at home still (who don't know how to manage their finances, lol)
@@KowaiYatsura not always true. Plenty of people like myself just don’t like what the sneaker community has become. The rep market is just another avenue for me and I don’t have to compete to get what I want.
@@KowaiYatsura actually it would be opposite, and I'd argue those buying fakes better manage their finances than people like you trying to glaze resellers lol. Already purchased and have used my Kobe 4 Girl Dad's and won't have to worry about not copping on SNKRS or paying some reseller $400+ for them. LOL
@@Hedgey404 I've 100% never bought a sneaker for resale. LOL to you making that stupid assumption since I actually never have and never will support or be a reseller. The only thing glazed is probably your eyes 🤣🤣🤣
When the reps started getting better quality than the legit pairs I changed my mind. Considering the rep factories will make to order within 72 hours and send qc pics for approval before shipping they are actually offering a better service than nike does. I still only buy the odd pair and only if I i really want the sneaker and I'm not willing to pay resale. Amazingly they still haven't even gone after the biggest seller yet.
@@KowaiYatsura Why are you trying to glaze Nike? The rep quality on a lot of my dunks is MUCH better than what Nike has given me on the same sneakers haha. Hell, even the basketball shoes are better than the retails.
@@Hedgey404 You look too old to be trying to fit in with high school kids. But it makes sense with you overusing glaze in every comment like it's your new favorite word. Fraud trendy boiiiiiiii
@@KowaiYatsura I am talking about high quality handmade reps like the ones that cost $125-200 USD a pair. I still like buying authentic but my rep pair of AF1's has less creasing, better stitching quality and are actually more comfortable than the real thing. I actually just found it amusing that the counterfeiters had better customer service than Nike.
I can't lie I've been floating the idea of picking up a pair of rep 1985 breds in the original, or as close to the original shape as you can get, or so they say
