The End of Mario Kart Tour OR NOT?

Tour has always been such a weird game even since the start when they just randomly dropped the logo on Twitter and told us nothing for a year. The way the whole thing has been run is mind boggling to me. I'm sad to see the end is in sight though. I really did expect them to add more tracks, like having trans like "RMX Mario Circuit 1" with no sequels to come. I don't really see why they couldn't have just... not released 3 tracks per tour for a year and instead actually scheduled stuff properly.

When I saw that banner my heart broke, like... I knew this was coming but seeing it happen is still shocking... At least they're not shoting down the game, thank you SGK and MKT for these years, I'll still playing and hoping for the best 😞💔

I was so ready to have my Mario Kart Profile filled with Bowser and Bowser High End alts and my dreams have been crushed since Nintendo have been focusing on making a million Mario and Peach alts and the characters that never got alts I truly feel sorry for. The fact that Larry is the only Koopaling to get an alt really seems random to me.

Honestly this is super sad…Tour could’ve been worked in for many more years to come….

I had a bad feeling this was going to happen with Charles Martinet retiring from voicing the Mario characters since anytime we get a new character variant, there's a new selection voice clip with it (unless it's a Yoshi or Birdo recolor.) There are some characters I'm disappointed we'll never get variants of such as Baby Luigi and Baby Daisy (since we got ones for Baby Mario, Peach and Rosalina, now my two favorite babies are never getting any), and Diddy and Dixie Kong.

It's been so awesome to watch you and your channel grow bud. Everyone will adjust and respond in their own way. It's a very personal decision. Personally, I'll be around with whomever wants to keep the party going until the very freaking end!!! 🤙🤙🤙

Yeah this is really sad. I’ve actually been taking a break from MKT for the past month or so and I just kinda got back into it only to be greeted by this a few days later.. wow. It's really unfortunate but I can’t really say I'm that shocked. Honestly the way they were rushing out content this past year, the datamines, etc like idk I just kind of expected it. A lot of people kept saying that the game wasn’t going to die and was gonna keep going for a few more years and I REALLY wanted to believe them but.. No. This was honestly one of the reasons why I stopped getting so hyped over the game and stopped uploading because I knew that this was gonna happen soon. Ofc, I still plan on playing the game and watching your videos but god damn.. Usually I'm more optimistic but there’s not really much of a plus side to all of this. Thank you for the great times MKT ❤ (Edit: Well I guess a plus side would be that the game isn’t shutting down/dying completely, so we’re still able to play it… idk I tried)

Yeah the only new thing we're getting is that 3rd variant of Athens, Rome and Madrid

I want the community to keep the game alive via modding and preservation I know it’s a server based game but one can dream right? This game had so much potential as with all of Nintendo’s mobile games I miss Dr. Mario World as well 💔😔

Man this is the end of an era. Glad you will continue to make content! Especially excited that you want to create the entire roster in plush form! Also still hoping honey queen gets in haha. Would be one heck of a character to end on! I am glad we are at least still getting to play the game and new tours, even if they don't have new content. And on the plus side, it's now finally possible to slowly complete the character roster!

I’ve been expecting this. It was why I deleted my MKT account earlier this year and left without saying a proper goodbye to friends. I knew if I continued to invest into the game too much that the disappointment would be catastrophic for me. 😔 This happens way too often with good games suffering from mismanagement, microtransactions, and otherwise. Underneath all of the predatory gimmicks MKT had for most of its lifespan, it was and still is a solid and unique entry to the Mario Kart franchise. It is so sad to see Nintendo pulling the plug without releasing a proper successor to it beforehand. I don’t even mind the limited-time “Tour” mechanic. If anything, it should be an additional game mode from now on in all future Mario Kart games. But I do think it is so sad to not see Tour get the courses it is clearly missing from its catalog still from MK8. I feel shafted as a Mario Kart fan of nearly 30 years by Nintendo. While I don’t completely mind them doing this if they still keep the game running indefinitely for as long as possible, the fact is that video game preservation is a huge issue for me. There will be a point Nintendo completely shuts-down the game, and this is sadly the first step. MKT has ‘always’ been lacking in that one regard due to the inability to access anything in the game when it does finally go offline. And, that worries me a LOT for the people that have invested a lot of time, effort, and money into this game. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: MKT deserved a proper cross-platform sequel on the Switch, iOS, and Android. It is sad that I think MKT will forever be remembered by me for the great times I had with friends; but at the same time the Mario Kart game that Nintendo has single-handedly killed my passion for the series with only due to the way they handled it so poorly.

I have no words. Its… finally over… Okay give me Mario Kart 10 soon Nintendo, I can’t go back to just Mario Kart 8 now.

There are so many more characters, kart and glider reskins, and so many more things they could add. They just aren’t willing to do anything not for us

Only thing i hope is that it comes to switch. More people will play it and thus more fun for everyone. This is a tragitity that tour will end. It better have one HELL of an anniversary tour

This is so sad but for me these next tours if they recycle from year 1 and 2 those will basically be new tours for me since I started playing since Peach Vs Bowser Tour (1) 2022

This is sad, I still remember that school break where I kept refresing the store until I could finally download it like yesterday. This was one of nintendo their only games that is consistant. They could've passed tour on to the modding community. I have seen so many custom tracks and drivers that I'd love to see in a real mario kart game. Or another thing they could do to keep it fresh is adding a voting option where people can vote one of 3 (old) tracks to get re-added next tour. Maybe even custom team rallies because I'd love to see yoshi vs birdo. Or they could just add a gold version for every driver. There is so much they could've done to keep things fresh with little to no efford but they chose to do this. This also gives less chance for a second bcp. Anyways I will still be playing MKT and I am excited for wave 6 for the switch (praying for city battle maps) and I look forward to whatever content you'll put out in the future. Edit: I would love to see a yoshi reindeer plush. My gf really loves that yoshi.

I think Nintendo's mistake was when they let go of that gotcha pipe. Their revenue fell from that instant. Just look at MLBB.

It’s kind off sad but it was always going to be over, at least they released a lot of good content this year, hopefully 4th Anniversary Tour is the best tour yet Also I’m pretty sure the Battle Tour is the same as last year so let’s hope we get two more new high ends for Anniversary, and maybe even Paratroopa

Definitely sad to see this game not get updates anymore. BUT To stay positive, at least it is here to stay! A mobile Mario Kart Game that’s in our pockets. I will definitely keep this game and collect the characters I’m missing. My next goal is to finish my inventory!

It's kind of sad, I've been playing Since it's birth in 2019. And it actually got better over the years. I knew MKT would come to an end, but was expecting a few more cities like Rio (Brazil) Kingston (Jamaica) Ciaro (Egypt). I do hope they add every track so we can play whatever track we like or make the cups bigger? It's like similar feeling to when Sonic Runners ended, yes you have Sonic Runners Rival but for me I've lost the drive to play. Lastly because I haven't got the Switch console, MKT was my Mario Kart to play on my phone.

Well I know its been a while but this is really sad. Its hard to believe its been almost three years since I started playing this game…carried me through quarantine and it was super fun, sad how I began to lost interest in it as time passed. I wish they gave us some 6-month warning for when the updates would stop similar to how Dr Mario World did. On the bright side, we might he seeing some more mario kart with MKT stopping updates and the BCP ending soon as well. It’s kind of unacceptable to just get a huge announcement like this in one day. Hopefully something big will happen in the future, but goodbye to the game that was once my favorite 😢

Knew I should've been a whale since day 1. It probably would've still made more new content if it made more money from me, possibly. That means no Fawful, unless he's a surprise character in the anniversary tour, but I doubt it. I still don't think they're ending the game completely. They did just say no new content, which could be good, since it'll give me time to max out all my top tier drivers, karts, and gliders, and hopefully get Orange Yoshi and the orange turbo Yoshi, since they're the only supers I'm missing from being whaled out in the autumn tour last year.

We can still let Nintendo know that we love this game. Yes people will stop playing but if we let Nintendo know we want new content and let them hear us like #Savegame if we all do something with our name over next 3 tours. Nintendo I believe will hear us

We knew this day was coming, however the rather bland written announcement really let it down. Would've been nice just a video of the amazing new courses they have brought to the franchise. The game now enters that phase of what we make of it and as you say you can use the time to the collect drivers, karts and gliders you missed out on. There's still so much people can get from the game. I'd love to see them unlock all the courses for everyone and allow players to race what courses they like when they like. I remember the content famine back in mid 2021 and I found that struggle as I imagine many players did, for me I think it's BCP once that concludes moving forward. Love your content though dude and keep it up. That's the one thing MKT gave us. A community and that shouldn't be allowed to go to waste.

I am in shock and disbelief. I have enjoyed this amazing game for the last 4 years and I will continue to play and support the game until it finally ends. I will always remember the memories from the old days, watching all the YT creators react to the best moments (Kamek, nitros, etc.) The only thing left for me now is to hope that Bowser (Tuxedo) is coming in Anniversary. I am also going to start to collect every item in the game, and try to get Top 10 in Bowser Tour if I can. I will never forget how exciting this game has been, I will cherish the last 4 years for the rest of my life. ❤

Our journey is almost over. I can’t believe that MKT is going to end very soon at October. Idk what to do to after MKT comes to an end. I’m not sure… 😔 I want to wish you all an amazing time and hope you all have excellent plans on what to do next ☺️

Angela is just so sad that we likely aren’t getting another Peach alt, she hasn’t seen one since Peach Dr. Nintendo has made so many questionable choices over the years. The content has been so up and down tons and tons of new characters then tons of nitro and retro tracks. We’re excited to see all the new plushies you will make over the next few years ❤

I guess there will be a definitive tier list after this. Kinda crazy how much scrapped content will never be released. I’m wondering when in-app purchases will end because that determines when the End of Service will come, like with Dr Mario World and Dragalia Lost.

Its been a good run, I wish I played this game wayy earlier and experienced more memories of this game but Ill still play it even tho its cycled tours. I agree with your statements about the devs having the chance to do WAYY more content for the game but mann its tough to think that its the end of new content. Depending on how I enjoy MKT and the way I play Its possible Ill quit the game and focus on IRL things. I think we all knew this game was going to come to an end and I agree to every word you said in the video and like what you said about how we can invest into non plus skill drivers or old DKG but this is so sad to see this game die down The only thing that i find im happy about is that I only started playing MKT in Mid 2022 so it would be good for me to experience some older tours but for everyone who has stuck around since the birth of MKT my heart is here for all of you RIP MKT you have had a great life. 😢😭

Sad that the game will not have any new characters, karts, gliders and courses after a couple tours. Still, it was a great game, and I won't stop playing. Probably less, but I will keep playing it until the service ends. Am excited to get drivers, karts and gliders, that I didn't buy, because of the possibility of newer/cooler/better items coming in the shop the tour after... I was in shock I expected an update but knowing the game is done is sad… and I don’t mean to add more pain but the last 2 High end drivers are both on anniversary with the mii suit and a driver. Battle tour will be the first repeat tour with no new content. Anniversary really is the final send off for this game ❤️
