THE END OF MIKE DELTARUNE! (Deltarune chapter 3/ Spamton sweepstakes) 

We still have so much to unpack with Tenna. Some people are constructing entirely new theories around the new info, others are just name swapping and calling it a day. Overall I think this is a good development for keeping theories fresh, and even if your sceptical of Tenna, This is now 100% proof that Mike exists in some form in chapter 3. Also I know the Spamton value network isn’t canon, and nothing within it should be used for genuine theorising. It’s very clear Wayneradiotv got a lot of freedom with what he could do… But the placement of the “Kill your TV” bit feels very deliberate.

I love how Spamton says "[[Don't believe anything you see on TV!]]" and we assumed that the smile on the tv was Mike (later known to be Tenna)...

I also thought it was funny that everyone gave Mike the Spamton shades as if he stole the look from Mike, but ignore the fact that Spamton was trying to mimic Swatch.

I think Tenna is short for Antenna as in, all of the white noise is caused by the antenna being out of line.

TL;DR: Turns out that spamton calling someone a criminal _wasn't_ referring to Mike.

So Mike isn't the TV Spamton hates so much, who is instead Tenna, but Tenna may be the reason Mike is gone? ...I swear if Mike is supposed to represent radio adverts and this whole thing is building up to a "Video killed the radio star" pun...

You know... This whole thing kinda is a parallel to what seems to have happened to canon Mike when you think about it... The fans ran crazy with concepts for what he could be. He was the most popular Fandom OC but the moment Tenna gets introduced as the actual Canon TV-character all that just ends.... He got his popularity usurped by Tenna and now he's stuck as a what-if. The main universe functions perfectly without him as if he doesn't exist....... I swear if Toby was planning on using the Fandom's obsession to deliberately accomplish this parallel, I swear to GOD-

honestly Tenna fits way better with how like the other "secret bosses" and other "darkeners" actually fit with what they're based off of, like "Jevil" being a play of [[ Devil ]] and [[ Jester ]] and "Spamton" quite litterally refering to a [[ Spammer ]]. So "Tenna" being the actual name fits with the Tv aspect of the [[ TV Antenna ]] Edit: ALSO ANOTHER ADD ON TO THIS, perhaps since their names are based off of how or what they represent "MIKE" may possibly actualy be a [[Microphone]] or as fans predicted a gameshow host which tend to use microphones??

It's funny. A whole year of theorizing that "Mike" would be the antagonist, and Toby just throws it all in a loop with us having to rethink everything. Let's see if "Tenna" lasts longer or meets the same fate, heh.

Spamton was being helped by Mike, one of his closest, and maybe only, ally. it was Tenna who severed communication between Mike and Spamton. Tenna ruined EVERYTHING for spamton, making spamton get desperate, and eventually, with enough desperation Spamton accidentally called gaster somehow, and he went insane. at the end of his NEO battle, he says "ARE YOU HEARING ALL THIS [Mike]? IM GONNA FINALLY BE A BIG SHOT!" hoping mike will hear is name... truely, with this take, this seems a lot more tragic. All he wanted was to be a big shot, just like Mike.

First world was based off imagination in table top rpgs, Then internet, then presumably Tv. Maybe spamton doesn’t trust tv because it… killed the radio.

I feel this huge amount of joy knowing fanon Mike was wrong, and they have to start from square 1 with Tenna content. I get it, Toby Fox's properties are always gonna have AU's made of them, but God it feels good that Toby went 'ur wrong by the way lol'. Toby's gonna make a more interesting game than the fandom's guesses, so it's nice to see his plot points aren't super predictable

Mike must have been Spam's mentor that he felt dependent on for a long time, which is why he hesitated after he told Kris he didn't need him anymore. If Mike was giving Spam the go-ahead for his business decisions (whether it was through Mike's permission or approval or just moral support), having him out of the picture suddenly would leave Spam out on a lurch. Spam must believe that Tenna is responsible for whatever happened to Mike. Spam could have even been talking bad about Mike so he could have him and his wisdom all to himself 🤷

I feel like Mike still exists but just isn’t anywhere close to who we thought they were, which is expected since I don’t think anyone actually thought Mike would look like these fan made versions

I gotta say tenna is pretty clever as you can only use a tv an”tenna” to help you find tv channels but sometimes it can read channels and static is something that happens when the antenna can’t get a transmission signal or something like that.

Honestly, I think it's cool that fans have their own chapter 2 and Toby has his own canon chapter 2. There could be like an AU where it's just all of the fan-made chapters or something.

Mike is us. Spamton's greatest wish is to escape the confines of Deltarune and become a real person. He's already managed to communicate with our world, as seen by his hiring human actors to perform in his Sweepstakes. It makes sense that he'd come to regard the player as a personal friend, being his first and greatest connection to Heaven. We probably met during the events of Undertale, and now that we have a new avatar he simply doesn't recognize us.

My theory after figuring out Tenna exists was that Mike was still the Tv but Tenna is mind controlling him into being something he wasn't supposed to be. Misguiding him if you would. Though this scares me for what Mike actually is, I'm remaining neutral on this situation. Either if he is or is not the Tv.

Fan art creators: Take this as a lesson on jumping the gun. If a character hasn't been properly introduced don't go jumping to conclusions about their role in the original sauce! (Granted, I could believe Toby Fox was being intentionally cheeky having Spamton mention Mike in a set up for a twist like this, he's made it VERY clear he keeps a close eye on his audience.)

This is just desserts to me, no ill will towards the people creating fan content, but the whole concept of the fan made chapter 3 really seemed to me as if they were trying to predict future content and then posting it as if it were real future content which really pissed me off.

While the legit Antagonist of Chapter has been teased, This isn't going to stop me from finishing my Fan Chapter (which has been Renamed to Chapter Gamma). I got a small following and I want to entertain my viewers as much as I can. So Even when Chapter 3 does come out and we're all making fanart of chapters 3, 4, and 5. For until I'm inevitably proven very wrong I'm going to headcanon Mike and Tenna as brothers. First reason being I only just finally got around to finalizing my design for the character we now now is named Tenna and I refuse to change the pink and yellow eyes so now they both have them. Secondly, Mike Rook is just too cool of a name to pass up. It even kind of makes sense in regards to chess theory, there's two rooks on each side of the board, right? I'm probably just reaching. But until chapter three comes out, my new backstory is that Mike is a karaoke machine made by the same company as Tenna, then Asgore got him in the divorce and had to pawn him off to Mettablook.

Like a RADIO, and Tenna, being an anTenna, got out of line thus being an outcast and got a shadow crystal, and Mike, possibly being a Radio star himself, was the original ruler, and tenna, the TV, overthrew mike, so Tenna is still an outcast, out of line, like a *gangster* and Mike, being forgotten, Tried his best to remain sane, and mike determined, persevered and stole Tenna's shadow crystal, to try to get his power, thus making both Tenna and Mike insane, that or i have just eated too many shadow crystals.
