The combat is not that good tbh, I prefer the new combat system of Marvel Spider-Man, still needs some improvement but overall is much more fun than all other spiderman games in my opinion. Because its based on Arkham gameplay that is for sure one of the best and most fun combat systems in video games. This was the first spiderman game that I played, and as a kid I loved it, but now that I am older I see that is not that good, its an alright game, they have some good ideas but the combat is clunky, story its a big mess overall, web swing is not that great shooting webs on the sky too lol, the graphics even when it released were mid. Overall is an ok game. I see you and other people nowadays that are overhyping this game a lot saying that is better than Spiderman ps4, slow down bro it is not. One of them was a Goty cotender a game with 87 metacritic score, the other one was an okay game with 70 something metacric score. Not even comparable, of course there are some good ideas in this game that Insomniac could use in the newer games, but the quality of the Spider-Man games is not even comparable from when Activision was the publisher and now that Playstation is the publisher, they jumped from AA games to AAA games.

@@telmocarvalho3305 Woah woah woah. Spider-Man PS4 combat...is some of the DRYEST combat of ANY Spidey game😭. Shattered Dimensions and Edge of Time are better and even the combat in Tasm 1 and 2 LOOK better. The fact that its based on Arkham IS the problem. Its TOO GROUNDED for a SPIDERMAN game to the point I feel like extra strenght BATMAN than Spider-Man😂. The reason SMPS4 gets so much praise is cause it was a more well rounded package. Good graphics, decent story, smooth combat. But if we pick apart each piece besdies graphics there are spidey games with BETTER story and combat. I mean shattered dimensions alone has, grabs, and the dodge mechanics have basic dodge, dodge stance AND counters, theres also HEAVY AND Light attacks on top of implementing the continuous web zip mechanic from Web of Shadows

I agree. My only issues with it are Spidey's VA and the fact that it has the easiest final boss of any Spidey game imo.

@@MisterX867 true. The final boss is a let down. I think the voice actor is ok, not perfect by any means, and i tolerated it. I mean I was a kid too, so 🤷‍♂️

@@Nygassso I'm pretty sure there was free roam, the only way you could get the iron spider suit was to collect the collectables which required free roam

It really doesn’t. I did a playthrough where every choice was a hero choice, but when I picked the dark choice after defeating Symbiote Black Cat, I got the dark ending.

It tallies up your red suit and black suit choices to determine whether you'll get a good or evil ending, then it just comes down to whether you choose black cat or not after defeating her symbiote.

Yeah honestly the only thing holding the Wii version to be my favorite version it's those damn controls and having to flip your wrist/control just to web swing

@@MrLachapell I remember i used to get so frustrated trying to do the web strikes the first time I actually quit for awhile playing that game And it was only training 💀 After i got through everything It was very easy lol

@@dylandavid9991 yup, i still remember that the web strike magically worked and i was able to progress in the game and remember never used it again because I didn't know how it worked lol

Tbh, your ending seems the most realistic, Peter never realizing what the symbiote is doing to him and let’s not forget black cat’s temptations

Nah, a good spider man game consists of open world including swinging and combat. Web of Shadows has open world traversal, not to mention you can swing fast as hell, the combat depth in this game far exceeds Shattered Dimensions, and it covers a pretty good "what if" story in a dark atmosphere. Shattered dimensions doesn't have any of that. The Spider-Verse aspect in it is great but it's pretty much a simple beat em up compared to this game

Not The Combat, Swinging or Open world even the story is pretty basic on paper just like the different spider men and the carnage level

Venom is actually OP. I think this is based on a couple stories from the older comics. Venom brings in a symbiote Invasion and Carnage consumes a bunhc of symbiotes to become this GIANT sized version of himself
