The Scottish music hall & vaudeville artiste Sir Harry Lauder was enormously popular in the early nineteen hundreds & by 1911 had become the highest paid entertainer in the world & was also the first British artiste to sell a million records . Here he is singing one of his most famous songs “ The End Of The Road “ which he recorded on the red Zonophone label in 1929 & is playing here on one of my HMV 102 portable gramophones .

Sounds very similar to the 12" HMV version of the same year. Ideally suited to the orthophonic soundbox. These 102's gave electric players like the Dansette a run for their money!

Totally agree Paul, a 102 could certainly give a Dansette a run for it's money ! 🙂
