I rode your Perch Pond route today on a glorious early October day - clear & crisp as it could be. Thanks so much for posting this one with the RWGPS route. The farm with the white barn at the sharp right-hand turn on Pulsifer Road (9:59) was a calendar worthy picture with the fall colors today.

Tuscon! We love the desert. I'm so glad you enjoy our channel. It was sort of my home away from home when I was in my career days that travelled there quite often. Almost moved out there at one point. We've never been to Tucson though and it's been the #1 place on our list to see lately. Looks like such an awesome place. I love the vastness of the desert it has always hit me deeply at the heart level when im there. There's something so alluring to witnessing its landscape. Favorite book of all time is Desert Solitaire by Edward Abbey. Are you from there originally?

So wholesome 💚🚲 Gravel Feels™️ "The gravel feels" I definitely know exactly what you are describing, love that! Wow, that is some really pristine gravel road conditions. Like you said, just enough bumps to keep you engaged but still smooth 😍 BUDDY!!!!! ❤❤❤🥺😊 So happy to see him! Thank you for another wonderful video, Nikki and Caleb (and of course Buddy). Yes, I think we need your skills to have a drone. Love you guys too, and love New England the more I watch your adventures. Not a creepy house, just a misunderstood house 😋 It was national women's day here in South Africa yesterday, so I took the time to appreciate all the wonderful women in my life and the world. And took the long weekend opportunity to go camping at the beach and surfing for the weekend, no riding unfortunately. But I love the ocean just as much as I love biking. Scottburgh caravan park camping sites right on the ocean (if you're interested in seeing the view 😊). I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far 💚 I feel like 100 bucks too, Nikki 😊 Ps. Can definitely feel the love and authentic gratitude being exuded through the camera. It's always so wholesome and rewarding for me (and I'm sure others) watching your videos. I'll be sad when winter takes over New England and there are no more gravel videos from you. But grateful that I was able to experience them while I could 😊 And I'm not at all surprised that you two were featured on a local TV show. You two and your videos have the best vibe and Gravel Feels™️ talking so lovingly and enthusiastically about your local area. Local is Lekker (is what we'd say here in South Africa).

I too am so grateful for all the incredible women in my life and in the world. So much love. Your surfing and camping trip sounds absolutely heavenly, I miss surfing and frequenting the ocean when I lived within walking distance to the beach but now 2hrs away so it's only a few times a year I see it. Talk of you're trip makes me realize I need to put in more effort to go appreciate it more often. I hope you stick around for winter and enjoy what our mountain wilderness looks like under a fresh blanket of snow. We use our backcountry touring skis to explore deep into the wilderness where its not possible to travel in summer because of the thick forests. The snow allows for easy travel to remote areas. But still lots of summer left and fall is where new england really shows the world it's unique beauty and there is no better climate than fall for a bike ride. The forest is a palette of color that almost feels like an alien planet on a sci fi movie. Do you have any foliage changes in any parts of Africa? P.s. what type of board do you surf with there?

What a wonderful attitude you guys have towards your area and bicycling. Your videos are not about carbon fiber bike equipment, How Far?, How Fast?, Double diamond technical routes, spandex and energy bars, etc. Your biking just puts you in the mood to enjoy Balanced Land that has variety. Does the little doggie ever get a chance to run on a leash alongside the bike, in low traffic areas?

@johnnydoe66
@johnnydoe66 2 месяца назад
@ThatMountainMoment The frame is my 1998 Barracuda XC URT steel frame that I had ridden for ten yrs before hanging it up. The build consists of: Carver rigid steel fork (suspension corrected at 440mm axle/crown), 26" wheelset w/ Continental tires, 12 spd crankset off my hardtail w/ a 32t nw chainring (6mm offset to keep chain alignment correct), 11-34 7 spd cassette, Alivio 7 spd derailleur, friction thumbshifter from an '86 Jamis, a Satori Aero bars (Amazon, knockoff of the Origin8 Strongbow), and Paul Components Cross Stop 3's brakeset that I bought in 1997, actuated by Dia-compe brake levers from the '86 Jamis. It's a softtail gravel bike of sorts with the URT rear suspension. It looks rather odd but rides great.

Be out in nature or out in the world in general is such a buzz. What a trip we get to all be on together in this universe. Thanks for the thought provoking comments. Always look forward to them.

Terriers do rock ha ha. We have company's send us products but we will only ever suggest a product if we've put it through many tests and then we'll use it in the videos and if someone inquires about it we'll arrange for a discount code but it needs to align with our videos flow and our vibe. I think straight up product ads disrupt a videos flow and only work if it fits in organically to the content. We are currently testing a couple cool items we think are neat and if we think it's worth mentioning then we will but my goal is not to feel like a salesman pitching things to people. I don't enjoy content like that so no reason to make content like that. We have a membership subscription and if people feel compelled to donate then cool, it can help with film equipment etc, but it's not what drives us to make these videos. I just love that people enjoy them and take something positive from them. Thank for your kind words.

That lake loop is right in our wheelhouse for sure, sounds so fun! Ooo the weather is going to be so perfect for the Kanc ride. Fall breeze already in the air and pops of foliage too. Gotta say hi to Nikki when you stop in!

Yes, we've done it many times. Highly recommend it especially during fall. Be sure to stop at Cherry Pond preservation along the way. Great open views of the Presidential Range. If you have time to zip over to Vermont and ride parts of the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail especially around the Cambridge area. It's awesome!

I just discovered your channel, and now you have a new subscriber. I'm not too far away, over in southeastern Vermont. I'm always looking for new and interesting rides within a couple hours' drive from home, and this looks like one I'll definitely have to try. Looking forward to exploring more of your content.

Hi Bob, thank you so much for subscribing to our channel. What town in Vermont are you in, my mom lives in Jacksonville, VT near Wilmington. We're actually there now visiting. She has some incredible gravel rides out her door that I can share to you if you need any. She's south central Vermont I guess I would call it. I really appreciate you exploring our channel.

@@ThatMountainMoment I’m located in Brattleboro. Although I love rides that start and end in my driveway, I’ve been trying to venture farther afield lately. And NH is sort of mostly unexplored territory for me. So definitely interested in any gravel ride recommendations. I’ve ridden around the Wilmington area a bit. Hope you’re having fun there. And thanks for the binge list. I’ll check it out!

It was really cool, had the perfect amount of aged patina to it. I grew up in the hot rod world and later a career un motorsports so my love for old vehicles runs deep. What year was yours?

@@ThatMountainMoment I believe it was a '71. Ended up being purchased by a friend's daughter who used it well as a college vehicle for four years. A little TLC and those trucks will serve you for a long time.

@PastorKwangle oh for sure, small block chevy from those times was bulletproof and the steel back then was such higher quality. I had a 63 falcon that I built up in high school. It was a lot of fun, 4speed manual, high revving small block and a nitrous oxide system. Miss it a lot. Vintage vehicles are untouchable in price now.

@ThatMountainMoment
@ThatMountainMoment 2 месяца назад
We work weekends up here by choice so we have the quiet midweek days off but I'm really wanting to figure out a chill group ride and be able to host some people. We're thinking of doing a small grassroots gravel gathering at my mom's property in the heart of gravel country Vermont. She has 10 acres to camp on and gravel out the door. I guess this will be my first gauge of interest in this comment 🤔

Yes we frequent there often. Love that trail. We have a gravel video from a couple years ago where we made a loop from Beebe to sandwich notch into squam area then back up and over Mountain Road which dumps out right near "the creepy house" and back to Beebe. Great loop!
