I also recommend Firehouse wax. Also Foad's makes 2 really good waxes. One is quite stiff while the other is much softer but still has decent hold. They also have a great oil that really softens the hair and is much better than standard hair conditioner.

Yes always styled! I'm growing all the hairs on the main body and only trimming the ends of the curls, after a certain amount of time they behave and stay together. Captain Fawcetts was pretty good in all weather conditons, I used to work all over the world in loads of different climates and that product coped. Yet to see how Mr Kings fares in summer months but i think it should be fine!

I've watched a fair amount of videos about how to style a handlebar moustache and your moustache is my favourite! Big and manly yet styled, great job!

Great video. The only thing that I have found since watching this is in relation to the extended time waiting for the hair dryer to melt the wax. I use Bounder which comes in little tins and I have found that floating the tin in a bigger tin filled with boiling water does the melting job in seconds. Much easier.

I shaved mine after a year for Movember last year and haven't grown it back - I feel Ike there are too many "tossers" (if I am using that word correctly...) walking around with them here in the states. When it dies down a bit I will certainly grow it back . I loved having it

A lot of other men who are born with golden cheeks don't want facial hair! And i spent like 2 years growing forth something decent. I can make handlebars but i want a more bushy overall mustache. It's a pain in the ass to wait but i avoid touching it or grabbing at the hairs like some people have a habit of. I also get hairs in the mouth all the time when i'm not using wax (rarely use it) I exercise and i think that boosted the growth a bit. Great video!

I've had my beard for 45+ years, but I am not retired from business and my beard is on it's way to a 325 day long groth. I have begun training my mustache with American Crew Forming Cream. While I bought it for my head hair, it sure works well for my mustache.

Bounder, Cpt Fawcett, Firehouse, all good waxes I've tried. Don't even bother with Lucky Tiger, almost zero hold and gives me acne.

I trim the bottom at an angle up to the center of my lip...let the outer 1/3 on each side grow out to form the curl....some just let the whole thing just grow and brush to the outer side....i like the angled cut in the center

The comment you have at the end about the ends falling forward or back is the bane of my existence at the moment. My ends are incredibly long and my facial hair grows out wavy. So sometimes it falls forward and looks like I have tusks instead of curls; ridiculous! I use "mustache wrestler" wax and it seems to be good but sometimes it just can't tame the curls.

Many men feel against the curl and force the whole stash to either left or right. this creates a bald spot in the middle. the only place you need to trim is the center upper lip. you will find it more visually pleasing.

i really benefit from "i trim mine styled rather than product free so i know how its going to look." Id say trimming is the hardest part. the overall shaping of it can be a challenge. If you followed the top line of mine, it slopes on one side, is boxy on the other. i would make a vertical like from the corners of my lips up, and let those outside the lips grow together, and everything inside be trimmed. thats what i attempted but found it too be producing smaller curls. yours seem fuller.

get a good blow dryer and blow it upwards into the style when its wet, and use a comb. You like sculpt it with the dryer, and i use hairspray for a matte finish

I found out that got2b ultra glued invincible styling gel holds stronger and easier to manage before setting...fyi to the stache addicts.

I trim the ends but i let the body of it grow now to attempt to get thickness throughout. Its very awkward trying to trim something so close to your face! I trim mine styled rather than product free so i know how its going to look. I used to trim mine off my lip too much and my hair starts a yard above it lol. So i'm seeing how it'll turn out!

I haven't but i recently saw the brand! The more solid ones i have used are better, being Captain Fawcetts and Mr Kings. Both are on par with pomade goodness

Great video! Yes I was using Clubman at one point too. The comb is junk. Started using Firehouse wax. Its not like the clubman that gave it a hard feel. Rather this stuff makes the stach pliable during the day. Looks natural. I think I will give the brands you mentioned a try. Cheers!

I tell people mine is fake too! Dude, great video, but i am very weirded out! I too have th captain fawcetts wax, but in sandal wood and also have mr kings wax! Then you whip out the same hairdrier as me, a little freaked right now!

from normal tash to curls like these, like 4-6 months! Depends on the size of the curl, but about that.

I've gone 2 1/2 months and it's finally coming around.. never thought of using the dryer as my wax is way too hard.

I just do what i want mate, i didn't realise i was doing it a totally wrong way that makes me look ridiculous to you. I mean i've had it for almost 3 years now and so far i think i've got it sorted. Appreciate the constructive criticism though, i do trim the middle and leave the hairs to grow past the side of my nostrils. Uploaded a video last night on just this subject

no homo, your stache and hair is on point! i been experimenting with my stache for a bit now.. i just recently trimmed up to my lip everything except the wings.. prolly shouldnt have.. it never seemed to want to part or lay to the sides without looking super bushy or shaggy. i also havnt been putting anything in it, just trying for a natural curl.. till i feel i have more lengtrh to work with.. can i even post pics on here, lol. cheers mate!

thanks for the wax review. i have a stach similiar to yours but shorter (ur stach is superb btw) and i bought foad wax but it realy doesn't work for me, it has a strong hold but it's to stiff so i can't style with it and halfway tru the day it already looks bad. sometimes i look better when i dont put anything. i'm looking for a new brand to try, was thinking about firehouse, but after your review maybe i'll try captain fawcett next. and i too get asked often if my stache is fake...

Very nice looking handlebar there. People are funny. I have had a sober adult come up and yank on it because he thought it was fake (teacher and i was at my senior prom). I am fine with non-drunk women touching it (doesn't happen often). And telling little kids I use ear wax (I remember that from a scene in the movie Hook, coincidentally, I had a little buy whisper very loudly about me "Look! It's Captain Hook!"). I find I like the look a day after washing & waxing. Not sure how to get that relaxed, not tight look on the first day (I rewax every 3rd day or if it's really coming apart). Carry on!

Heh heh yes: "is it real?"; "can I touch it?" I started out with Clubman's too, you're right it's for beginners. I use Stern Hungarian for everyday and Brothers Love for special occasions - they don't need heating. And yes … other people get bad hair days, we get those AND bad moustache days.

I have one that is about 3/4 of your length. It takes a lot of maintenance, you can't just wake up and jump out the door with the ends all split in 20 different directions, I don't even really need wax, it just curls naturally, I prefer to use butter because with wax and blowdrying it can get really dry a wiry, I don't get the pronounced curl with butter but the hair just feels so much softer and natural. Do you ever cut the width, I've been tempted to ask my barber but am afraid I will lose the sharp natural points.

What do you or anyone else with a moustache here, answer when people ask why you have you grown such a mighty stache?

Hi just Wanna say what a great moustache you have I've had a slight accident and need some advice I've trimmed a little too much off one side I've still got the longest bets but it's a little wispy. Would you recommend trimming the other side to even up or riding it out and growing the other side to thicken it up? I'm so disappointed I've lost so much growth but it still feel you ligase it's only been five months any advice would be great thank you very much

London has similar weather to NYC, my mustache gets moist from the cold, then hard, then melts (defrosts) haven't used the products u said here yet, ... and when I don't style it...
