FIFA 04-09 was a golden age imo. 2011-14 was another golden age. Great gameplay, game modes and soundtracks. 04, 07, 09 and 13 have some of the greatest fifa tunes of all time

Dude, Worlf Cup 98 deserved way more praise than it got here. You could play full 45 minute games, and you could play vintage world cup finals - it even had multiple graphical styles, with black/white for Uruguay-Argentina 1930, this lovely sepia sort of black and white for Hungary-Germany '54, and a warm technicolour for Italy-Brazil 1970. We should expect every yearly release to have special extras like that.

I remember playing 98-2001 with my school colleagues and spending hours editing teams, make them look like us. Then we made "Champions league" with school classes. From 2003-2007 the games were just amazing for us. FIFA 06 was a hit and those retro futures, classic team and for the first time added, Legendary playstyle was awesome. We couldn`t play online most of the times, only LAN, so we focus more on the offline content. From 07 we started to play online and that version of FIFA had by far the best gameplay we saw until then. I left FIFA when they added ultimate team. In my opinion they made a swift on how the game should be played and I did not like the fact that without spending big bucks, you will not be able to have a good time. That, but also the fact that most of my favorite players all ready retired and the football changed itself. To answer your question, from time to time I still like to play FIFA with my childhood friends and that`s why I buy the newest version of the game every time. I am sad that PES sold the rights because PES 2021 was really good. I think we just like the beautifulness of the game and FIFA it is not a bad choice at simulating this. It was nice to watch this video you made and have a good time watching those old screens. Good luck with your further projects!

Fifa 2002 WC edition was such a weird, but amazing experience. One of the very few times it felt like EA actually tried to make art.

My first soccer game I played was fifa 2001 as a kid. But in those days, Konami was miles ahead. PES2/3 is what i started off playing the most. Especially before the Internet, i would go to my friends houses & we would play PES. Everyone around had that game & we would practice alone before playing. What made it fun is playing with my friends older brothers etc. Those days are long gone when it comes to playing video games. Pes2-Pes6, some great years.

The genesis of Ultimate Team was actually in the 360 version of UEFA Champions League 2006-07. I'd also say the first time Ultimate Team came with the game disc and wasn't a paid DLC, FIFA 11, was another massive moment. It exploded the player base of FUT overnight and was the true start of the MTX hell that the series has become. Great video, I just think those two games in particular are among the most important in the series for that reason.

Something just never changes

Fifa 2000 introduced historical teams which was really fun. The screen even went black and white or sepia.

I remember FIFA 05 Manager mode having the ability to buy and sell players before 06 but the best part of that was you had to manage the overall budget of the club so you could spend 50mil on Messi or on increasing the seating capacity of your stadium or training facilities. Would love to see that kind of balance come back in (More than just Scouts and players)

You forgot the UEFA Euro and Champions League games. Also UCL 06/07 was the actual first appearance of Ultimate Team. Otherwise interesting recap of the FIFA series.

I remember one of the first FIFA's back on the mega drive, casually hacking down the goalkeeper with my strikers when I was 3-0 down as a 6/7 year old. After that I only played sporadically but the 2000 intro is one of the best intro's from my childhood/teenage years (along with BF1942) and has a special place in my heart.

Weird, I always thought Fifa 98 (RTWC) was EVERYONES FIRST FIFA 😄 Especially since Blurs Song 2 was so iconic the re-released it on FIFA 23. Also FIFA 2001 was probably THE most influential one for me and my friends (Birth years 89/90)

Absolutely Loved this video man!!!! I played fifa from 03 to 07 then 13-16 then 19-23 😆! My fav ones so far (not in order) Fifa World Cup 2014 Fifa 13 Fifa 19 Fifa 23 So nostalgic seeing those main screens. Probably enjoyed 03 to 07 more just for nostalgic reasons, some great times

when they got rid of lounge mode it killed multiplayer with friends for me ,loving having a league table had like 5 friends who were really good it was so competitive

Something I enjoyed a lot in ultimate team were to beat a fully decked team, with just scraps of bronze-silver players, just by playing realistic non-arcadie football. That was a blast, and the cherry on top were all the salt delivered to my PS inbox.

My first fifa was Fifa 2000 but I remember playing a game before the Fifa series on the Sega Master System called Champions of Europe.

Great video with a great message. My love for more football content has made it hard to not buy fifa this year, but im staying strong untill it goes on sale later. I think ea is a root for teaching its young football loving audience bad fundimentals around money and the concept of money just becomes inflated to unreal levels, among other terrible ideals they incorporate. i am a victim of this

great video. my fav period was from 98-07. Problem for me wasn't even the micro transactions, it was just deciding to not improve any aspect of the game. FIfa in 2010 and fifa now is the same COD-esque formula since. Can't blame them really but still...

Robbie williams - its only us….that tune was the fun times in summer in front of ps1. Now all I play is a shadow of a game with no love to pvp modes (looking at you seasons). These days its just my team vs a kid playing with PSG.

My first football video game was International Super Star Soccer Deluxe for the sega mega drive, we had a copy of a fifa game for the mega drive but we never played it because super star soccer was so much better, I'm pretty sure that game was the precursor to PES. Coincidentally it featured a scenario game mode where you would try to win games from perilous positions, suspicious that something similar would show up later on in a fifa game

fifa rtwc 98 deserved more praise for me still one of the greatest fifas of all time my story with fifa games was i played the original on pc then i got fifa 98 for sega saturn and pc, then the last fifa i played for a while was fifa 2001 on ps1 (the cd smelled like grass) then i only played ISS and PES games until i got back to fifa with fifa 12 on ps3

Fifa 06 on ps2 was my fav career mode you had to start at lower league and work your way up and if i remember correctly you could change your sponsor each year also the better you did the high paid the sponsor
