This is a great start. Hopefully you're aware of poparena's Nick Knacks, which is a retrospective of Nick's entire history. The show's currently in 1991 having just finished episode 100, Clarissa Explains It All. Might help with some clarity on the early years, especially 1979-1980. We have a lot of footage of those shows now.

4:13 Speaking of, Warner would later own Atari Games, a completely seperate company from the one behind the console, before then selling the company off and once that company's new owner (Midway) went belly up bought everything back up while retaining none of the branding. All for an exit out of the gaming market that lasted only 6 years. Suffice to say the few Atari fans left now aren't super happy whenever they see the WB shield.

As a kid I grew up on 80s Nick, Disney in the costumed mascot TV show era, USA, NBC, CBS, ABC, HBO , PBS, and The Disney Afternoon. Cartoon Network remained unviable to our cable package for a few years before it reached our area. So I grew up on much of what you skipped. Lots of young kids loved You Can't do that on TV Eureeka's castle was the 1st Nick series to have serious fans but it was Nicktoons that helped it really take off.
