I am so happy that the Lord was watching over you and that y’all are safe. And I SO appreciate the electrician who actually cared and was kind. An extra blessing.
I'm wondering why no one is putting the piece of the puzzle that many on this feed that had house fires.....Smart meters folks. They cause all kinds of health conditions too!
@@5GreenAcresI wonder if, the power company lines delivering power are thicker than, the lines required to the house and that the meters allow the power to come in but, not reducing the power entering into the house thus, is too much? Thus, not the power company’s error and meter working 🤔 Granted older electrical panel. Why the changes causing fires now?
That happens here, too, where I live in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Ever since they took out our meters and installed new smart meters, they are found burned or house completely burned down because of them. What is worse when you try to sue BC Hydro they say it's not our fault. Yet it is because they were mandated to install them in every house, building standing or being built up
So guess what I’m going to do when I buy a house? I’m going to make sure that electricity connections are all good. I’m also going to ask my son if he had his electrical box and the wires that led into it inspected?
I work for the power company in SC and what you are describing is what I handle. Those meters are designed to do just what you described. Some cases are imminent and some are not so imminent. Some customers are given a few days to have it repaired. Shame on the person who would not wait. I'm happy you caught it in time. God blessings on you and your husband 🙏 ❤
❤ I'm happy to hear that you got the warning ahead, without the loss of anything more than inconvenience and some extra money spent. You all are healthy, you still have your home, and you got the lessons, and most of all you gained soooo much to be in gratitude about. Glad everyone is good❤
Bingo!! Totally of guard !! I live in a trailer and I was without electric for 2 weeks and my living in a camper for 10 yrs made me very wise to living without electric !! I now have 2 water barrels and a gas generator …. All the essentials for survival !!
I’m so sorry for your inconvenience with the water. When it is a life threatening situation they have to shut it down. What you said was so powerful! We all have to learn to be prepared for these things. A water tank, a generator, extra food, extra fuel, extra supplies all would be smart to have on hand. Praise God that you all are safe! September is emergency preparedness month.
Amen, ALL praise to God Almighty in all things, even in the difficult times. It's also interesting that the power company picked up on this, a miracle.
Thank you LORD for HIS protection!!!❤❤❤ That happened to us in Memphis a few years ago. High utility bills and a very hot, smart meter. We kept calling the electric company to try to get them to check the meter. My hubby flagged down a meter guy. He said it was fortunate that we got his attention. The meter was so hot he used special gloves to remove it! He called it in and a new meter, not a smart meter (btw), was installed. The next utility bill was back to normal. We were so close to a house fire! But the LORD was watching over us too
Wow.. Sorry u went through that .. God was watching over you's. I've been thru it as well.. but we had prier warnings that something was amist; power surges & even spoke to ele. Co. About it.. they said nothing was showing up there. Later we were smelling smoke & seen fire coming out of the wall plugs & the fire dept was on the way. Long story short. Old wiring & Box. God was watching us too. Stay Safe All
I HAD A HOUSE FIRE JANUARY 22 I have Allstate. Everyone was caring and compassionate until it was time to work with the lady who was over the contents part. Working with her and her hateful attitude was like trying to get money from a rock! She acted like it was her money! I'll never forget how that woman treated me during one of the worst times in my life. Her Name was Ashley. Very rude individual.
I know what you mean about rude individuals. My husband lived in Riverdale Georgia when I met him. When we married, he moved to my house here in Kentucky. He moved stuff every weekend he came in. Someone stole his air conditioning unit, and broke in his garage and took a huge Craftsman tool chest and a lot of his tools. The insurance company representative suggested that he FORGOT and brought his tool cabinet and tools up here with him! They accepted the heat/air unit as stolen but fought over the tools! He said to her that he wasn't a thief and to forget it, he'd slowly buy and replace his tools. He also told her to cram a few up her a$$ and he dropped that insurance company too! He'd had them for over 30 years. We have State Farm now.
I understand. We were t-boned. 11-11-21 All of a sudden state farm started treating us badly. The man I was supposed to talk to never returned my calls or texts. They never have paid for anything. Still have my paperweight of a disabled car because don't feel I can get rid of it as it isy proof of the damage she did. She also caused me all kinds of injuries. They never paid medical like they were supposed to.
A similar thing happened to my parent's house in The Bahamas (and six other houses on the exact same day - which is very strange for our small island) but it was the power company's wires that was the issue. They also don't monitor meter spikes as they should so all 7 houses had a house fire. It took my parents 4 years to rebuild out of pocket because the power company refused to pay anything and the insurance won't cover what the power company is responsible for. It was a MESS. I'm so grateful y'all caught it early.
Yes, power Co surges cause problems. We have surge protectors on our meter loops but if a lightening strike is close they don't work. The entire meter loop will be fried to charcoal.
I am so glad you all are okay. Thank God for watching over his children and take care of us when we don't even realize that he does. Let's keep on praying for each other. Love Y'ALL.
So happy to learn you all avoided disaster. You' ve got lesson learned to share with us and can't wait for that. We were 6 weeks without water & 3 days no power, so we know you went through 100 percent misery. The recovery is added time and money. Take care Mrs. H.
Blessed is an understatement! Such gratitude!!!! Not 3 minutes before I saw your video, I shared a post on Facebook from someone who's grandmother said, "An empty jar takes up as much room as a full one." So she fills ALL of her empty canning jars with water. - As somebody who has a well, I thought this was genius! As you know, no power = no water. Having water in the 'empty' jars would be a Godsend. Sending so much love, I'm so relieved for you.
Is there any kind of specialized inspection that you could ask for in order to be pre-warned about a situation like this? I would imagine that there are a number of ticking time bombs like this waiting to go off. You guys were truly Blessed!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I work at a power company. Linemen are a special breed of people. God bless the folks that care and watch reports from the meters. Most people think they don't care, but they truely do care. I have been in the business for 24 + years and they amaze me every day. God bless you both.
So glad y'all are safe and the house as well. Since you already have propane, look at getting a dual fuel generator. It will use gas or propane. Anywhere from $400 to over $1000 depending on how many watts you choose to get. I got one recently so my refrig/freezer would be powered.
I'm glad you and your husband or okay. I had a guy to do some electric for me. And after he did the electric work. My breaker kept on knocking off all the electric. So I would just get to breakers, to make the electric come back. But it wouldn't stay on over a day. Finally I called another electric guy out to look at my electric. And when he was looking at the electric box. He said here's the problem. He said whoever did the electric work. When they went through the other electric junction box, they had knocked loose some of the 220 wires. He said let me show you something. He said you see them words right there melted. He said good thing your breaker had a surge box. He said that's what kicked off your, electric and that is what kept your home, from burning down to the ground. So after he fix the electric. I called the other guy that had done the electric. And I told him what had took place. And he said, will you would have got a new home out of. I should have you kidding me is that the way you feel about my home and my safety. I told him then you shouldn't even be doing this kind of work. If that's the way you feel about people's homes and their safety. It could have cost me my life in my home. But he didn't care.
God was truly watching out for you and your home. I believe in the power of prayer. You obviously did some power praying over this for the electrical work to be pushed up. So glad this came to a speedy and safe resolution.
same exact thing just happened to us a week ago...except we noticed our lights dimming on and off. Luckily, our good friend is a retired electrician and he helped fixing our box.
That's a lot of voltage, that is going through them. You and your husband, are very lucky. And thank goodness, both of you are okay and your home is okay. The main pole, that had the burning wires on it, was doing that because of the stuff that was happening in your house with your stove. And me by saying it was your stove, because if it wasn't for your stove missing up, you may have never known about the electric pole. So, I think your stove was a blessing.
We, are have so much power from 5g, the were late in changing the cable line to be compatible with 5g, and 10g which is coming soon! Be aware what is happening. Be safe family.
It's called a meter base or meter box which a weather head comes off the top of it where the power lines from the pole are hooked up and the panel box from the bottom. They use aluminum wire which needs flux on them and the lugs to keep them from getting too hot and also cut down on corrosion and over time the flux will break down like most stuff and needs to be cleaned and replace with fresh flux. Not sure if it is still done that way or not.... been a long time since I've messed with that kind of stuff.... So glad your house was ok, we know what it is like to lose everything to a fire, but that was due to lighting. This is a great example of how God takes care of good people and you Mr. & Mrs. H are without a doubt good people.
Good to know they pay attention to the spikes, I didn’t know that. Thankful your family is okay and knowing it could have have been so much worse than it was. A true blessing 🙏🏽
Mrs. H, you are so blessed. God was watching. I just went through a gas line leak and had to get a plumber to fix it. It took 6 days, 2 trips from the gas company, and 2 trips from the plumber. Long story, but it's fixed now. I don't know what's worse, gas line leak, or electric circuit in box tripping. Both are very hazardous. Blessings to you all. ❤
So glad this was caught in time! Ten years ago our lights were bright, like 100 watt bulbs looked like spotlights and water coming out of faucet was close to boiling. Thank goodness I had noticed it and called power company and yep it was our responsibility. However we rented so they paid. Glad to see it all turned out good. Your truly blessed. Probably a smart meter now. Why it looks different. Glad those grandbabies have such a good family.Stay blessed Heart ❤️💜
I am so thankful you and Mr H are safe. God is so good. What a blessing to have the power company come out to check those spikes. We serve a Mighty God and He watches over His own.
Thank God you and family are okay. I thought about some of the things Lead Farmer be speaking on such as being prepared for things like that. I need to do those things myself. We thank God for keeping you all and the animals and we love you Mrs H.
I'm so glad everything turned out well. You probably need a generator especially living on a farm and the fact that you live in a area that has a lot of storms.
We were without power and water for six days in 2021 due to the Texas big freeze. I know all about that feeling. Praise the Lord your house didn’t burn down. Keep looking up! Fear not.
The same thing happened to use. The only reason we found out the meter was burning was because GA Power was requiring us to install a smart meter and that is when they found the meter was catching fire.
I lived in mobile home before. The electric company put that meter box on pole next to the mobile home. That box caught on fire but my home did not catch. I was not looking for any issues with it, had no clue. 3 days with no power, we took cold showers, cooked outside. My boys said we were camping …..lol we were blessed too. I will never again live in a full electric house because of that. My hot water and stove is gas. If power goes out I can still light pilots manually.
