The Envelope: “The Shape of Water” director Guillermo Del Toro and co-writer Vanessa Taylor 

In discussing the film “The Shape of Water” with Los Angeles Times reporter Kenneth Turan, Del Toro said he “wanted to make a song, that people would come out of a theater humming.”
“That the feeling you had is the same you have in a convertible on PCH, when a great ballad comes on and you pump it and you start singing. That's the feeling I needed as a healing thing.”
