@@juaneitor22 The Ash Saga wasn't that Good, it had so many missed Opportunities in that Story Arc, while 2003 was a Decent start, XI had so many Plot Holes but it does Introduce something really New, but Everything was thrown out the Window when XIII happened because all of it was completely Rushed.
@@joseurbina3835 Th Ash saga has much story so 3 games aren't enough, introducing a character equivalent to The Orochi, everything happened in kof xi-xiii are because snk created so strong characters like Mukai and Magaki (These characters are enough to defeat Ingiz), how you can eliminate a character like that, Ash saga allows the existence of Shun'ei's Saga, Nests Saga, Orochi Saga, etc..
@@joseurbina3835 kof 13 and kof 2001 was rushed as fck hopefully kof 15 snk will make shun ei saga being good like old saga I know his designs is bad but hopefully they will make his story great and they said look forward for shun ei too progress as protagonist I hope that means they will change shun ei design and gameplay like kyo in kof 96
It still could've ended better. The problem was that right after KOF 2000, SNK went bankrupt so KOF 2001 (as well as the sequels for other SNK games) wasn't as good as it could've been.
5:41 - Kyo finds his way out of the underground lab were he is found by Moe. Moe takes care of him untill he is able to get some strength back and then he heads back to the lab for answers. This happens in KOF EX2 offical cannon game that is a very short side story of the events that happen in the year 1998 (not dream match) where a mysterious company who seen Orochi take over Chri's body, tries to resurrect Goenitz the same way with another child host. Not worth adding to this video, but I thought it is intresting side lore. :)
I usually broadcast how I wished SNK would fix/combine their continuity and lore from KOF, Fatal Fury, and Art of Fighting. The NESTS saga has always presented an opportunity; the city that was destroyed in the Zero Cannon incident? Was Southtown. And then shortly thereafter when SNK released Garou: Mark of the Wolves? It was revealed the name of the city was now Southtown II. If that wasn't seamless connection, i don't know what is.
NEST saga is specially exciting because it also feels kind of realistic or related to our current real life world - not just a typical VG plot - i mean... Cloning is actually a real life science thing - or at least a possibility - it just has ethical barriers to be solved, Conspirations are already a thing, Terrorism is - sadly - obviously a thing, Secret Organized groups - such as NEST - that want to arise for power above many of us are also a thing. I also love the idea of the Top Head of NEST wanting to be god of mankind throught cuttting edge knowledge and science, and that there's people actually working for it as if making G0D to rule all humanity was just like training a candiate for Politics.
Watched the fatal fury movies and wonder what happened to them in video game canon Cous I’ve never knew all this lore about orochi and ryo/iori rivalry so deep 🥴💔

Small trivia about Vanessa. She was never married in the NESTS Saga. In old official japanese magazines, you can read that. The actual SNK made a retcon about her backstory, making her now married and ruining Ramon's hopes and dreams. Speaking of retcons. I think SNK Playmore made one about Foxy. At the end of KOF 2001 she was killed by K9999 and Angel and in KOF XI you can see her being alive. That's odd.
The "Nests" saga was probably the most nostalgic to me because KOF 99 was my first KOF when I played the PS1 port. It also became a major turning point for me in my youth because It got me fascinated with Asian cultures and wanting to learn the language just so I can understand the special pre-battle intros and the context to why these interactions are supposed to matter. KOF games in the USA were a bit scarce during the '90s/early 2000s. So for sheltered people like me at the time who didn't own a Neo Geo but wanted to play all the KOF games, it was a "take what you can get" scenario. (I didn't even discover the joys of emulators until 2006. lol)
Then that makes You and Me are Brothers now, because 99 was also my 1st KOF Game back in the PS1 Era (alongside other Classics like "Castlevania: Sympathy of the Night" and "Metal Gear Solid").
@@joseurbina3835You Should be Called: The Konami PS1 'Fan', A title that only legends can attain...AND YOU ARE ONE OF THEM!...Seriouly the Old Konami was Cool!, I played Contra and the TMNT SNES Game Turtles in Time!

I do think the KOF 2001 Story segment in this Video is a little Inaccurate, the real Truth about the Finale is that Igniz defeated the K' Team very Easily, but only to get Interrupted by Kyo, Iori and Kula joining alongside K' to defeat Igniz.
I also believed that. But tbh, I much prefer K' Team being the ones who defeated Igniz. I was never a fan of Kyo and Iori helping to defeat Igniz, it wasn't their story after all (especially Iori who did nothing in the main plot) I still think the manhua adaptation of KOF 2001 did it better. Making K' Team and NESTS Team (minus Foxy becuase she dies) working together to defeat Igniz. Watching K', Kula and K9999 VS Igniz was so awesome!
Same here! I tried it out on PS4 a while back when I was bored but as soon as 13 and 14 came in serious tournament matches, it was quite exciting to watch.
This saga was good, not a the same level of the Orochi Chapter but have more good points that the second KOF arc become a classic by itself. The bosses were amazing. Krizalid as the tragic good guy in a villain work, used by his superiors like a pet and died like a minion, truly sad character. He also was an awesome fighter, shame that he became a striker in kof 2001. Clone Zero, the necessary evil, he knows too much about NESTS agenda to considers himself the lesser evil, but his action were too chaotic that literally kof 2000 ended in a phyrric victory, neither NESTS or K´were the victors against him. Original Zero He have a good concept as a character but poorly executed "seriously he have the same moves of his clone and even say the same things", Zero show us that being too loyal to a terrorist organization is not good in any way, He is like Count Dooku from Star Wars, both were too loyal for the wrong people and their loyalties ended their lifes. And last Igniz, he is a total monster, devoid of compassion, he sees everybody as tools, he is too powerfull, he sacrifices all his followers to prove himself at godhood, he is the kind of boss that nobody wants to fight but everybody loves to hate, KOF 2001 was odd but Igniz and "k9999 and Angel" for sure were the best the best part of it. Good video, well narrated, i hope to see all 4 Nests bosses again, they deserve their revenge.
Thank you for continuing these series!!! The NESTS saga is so interesting! I'm old enough to have experience the whole NESTS saga first hand. I remember feeling so excited when the new arcade arrived to our local arcade place with the KOF99!
Why did Igniz said he restored their memories when K’ and Whip didn’t even visit anyone compared to Maxima’s memories restored making sense since he did become a part of NESTS to get revenge on a friend’s assassin? Ron and Kula saving the Hero team from the falling satellite finally answers who were the voices in the burning satellite cutscene after the closed door from Igniz and his demon proclamation. And finally you should have a talk with ShoryuGame to settle the debate on 2001’s plot. That is all, great video, love all the NESTS saga games (except for 2002 UM for no story mode or good cutscenes compared to the original, but at least it’s non-canon.), especially 2001 for finally making 3-3 optional, and 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5. Keep up the good work.
Great Work ! Now I completely understood the Nest Saga. I always get confuse in - -Relation between K dash and Krizalid -KOF 2000 Boss Zero Story -The Final Ending of KOF 2001 but you explained perfectly. Almost all Nests Heroes are there in KOFXV. Can I ask you which Edition you have purchased of KOFXV Standard or Deluxe ? I feel like Standard Version is punishment for not purchasing the Deluxe Edition or Deluxe Edition is a reward for not purchasing the Standard Edition😅 as those who purchased the Standard they have to wait for March and May for DLC. that's why I asked ?
@@williamcorey4700 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Actually ! I only use to play games before. This is the First Time I was following a Game News ! I didn't know Anything about DLCS ? I learnt about DLCS previous year. 😅
imagine a SNK Cinematic Universe, starting with Art of Fighting, 2nd movie Fatal Fury, 3rd movie Psycho Warriors, 4th movie Kusanagi. all are interconnected with post credit scene. final movie is The King of Fighters where the big bad is Rugal .... please somebody forward the idea to SNK top heads, hire a good film director like Jon Favrue to kick things start :)
I always loved the visuals, and art styles. The Nests saga really gave the series a unique chapter to dive into. Plus the soundtrack design took a more electronic spin, which I loved right away. 99, 2K, and 2K1 delivered so much beyond what the past was capable of, so much growth, evolution, and took our hearts. So many new characters, added even more depth to the series. Absolutely loved what SNK brought to this saga. "Lovable Ignis" (insert Yagami laughter here) Fantastic coverage of this chapter in the series. Also shared on social media
Awesome! You did a great job, and your video on the Orochi saga have been featured in Eventhubs, it's well deserved but congratulations! & Keep that Shit Up! =^.^=
Each saga has some theme to it. The Orochi saga is the saga that symbolizes the wrath of Mother Nature in the form of a sealed monster. Nests are a cartel that deal with the worst of humanity under clone lab management, the tales of ash deal with a group of beings who control time from the past and how they would use the softness of the future and so the beings in the past would take advantage. A lesson in peace creates the weak men and cowards. And the verse saga would deal with some energy and maybe the ghosts of the old bosses. Nostalgia a symbol of current humanity.
I think in KOF 2000 Kula was ordered to turn her attention away from K' and go destroy Zero Cannon and not because she "couldn't defeat K", in kof 2001 K' himself says she is "as powerful as he is" Also, I think she helped K' defeat Igniz, she does fall into water at the end of 2001, so it's sort of implied.
@@SeekerMissile During 2000 and 2001, SNK was going through bankruptcy so another company by the name of Eolith (along with Breezasoft consisting of former SNK employees) as they produced 01 and 02 vanilla.
Don't think I didn't notice the subtle use of "KD-0079+", the Smash Bros version, I think? probably my favorite arrangement of K's Theme. Though I love all of them, the NESTS saga was probably my favorite one of them all. Ive been enjoying your videos for a while and I'm really enjoying this particular series, I think its finally time to join the Patreon and give some back, you're doing quality content here.
People always say about fighting games that they have shallow stories, but man kof is such rich in lore and story.too bad it doesnt have a good anime adaptation.anyway, great video again man!
The nest saga is one of the most interesting, talk about an evil organization. I noticed people pronounce Angel strange. I know it's canon the way you say it, but I've been pronouncing it āin-gël oh well. KOF is the most fascinating fighting game
These lore videos are so good. I´ve always been interested in the story of KoF and these videos are doing an amazing job at enlightening me about it. Good job!
KOF is the best sci-fi. I love how Kula doesn't need to breathe in the vacuum of space. Snark aside, appreciate the video and the deep dive into the NESTs saga.
She literally wasn't in the Vacuum though.... she was in that limit area where our atmosphere starts to dissapear, with very very low Oxygene, that's where sattelites are placed - at least so far as i know -
I think Kula helped freezing the satellite as it was falling so the hero team could survive there. Not sure how she ended up in the water though... Perhaps she froze the ocean around her while helping and then it melted?
"Gloo-gen"? I thought Glaugan's name was pronounced "Glaow-gen". And since when does Angel's G make an H sound?! Also I don't think the person talking at the end of 2001 was supposed to be Ron. If you look at the recreation in KOF All-Star, the silhouette saying that is Kula's, so it seems like she was able to freeze the heat enough for a safe landing. With that in mind I'm not so sure Kula jumped into the water so much as fell after using all her power to do that, but that part isn't as clear.
Wasn't a big fan of the new hero team but I like the bosses in the Nest Saga. Clone Zero, Zero and Igniz were a set of crazy backstabbing bunch story wise and fun to fight against
Krizalid and especially Original Zero was the most loyal out of all them in the cartel/organization. He made sure that he defended their pride and attacked anyone who dares to defy him or any other members of the organization. He really detest traitors as evidenced by him finding out that Clone Zero betrayed them. He used them just to achieve his own selfish desires for world domination and declare supremacy.
@Nabil Great video. Fills in a lot of gaps and refreshes past knowledge too. Question: You said Lin was not the real Lin as he was murdered by C Zero who dressed up like him. Yet at the end you say he's still alive? Also same thing when Foxy gets killed by Angel. You say she is alive and teams up with whoever it was you said. Can you clarify what has happened? 🤔

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE the lore dump here but I was also very interested in learning about the real world history of the franchise. In the Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting, and Samurai Shodown series we got to see SNK's thinking and decisions, what the market was like, how the fans reacted, etc. Not trying to be that guy but I really wanted to learn more about the history of KOF.
