Heatjaws was probably the greatest fusion idea, simply because Ben had to overcome Ripjaw’s weaknesses, while at the same he had to deal with Heatblast’s weaknesses, and vice versa, while using their best assets would harm him
I'm surprised he was able to live I thought his lungs would go out from breathing in smoke his existence is biologically impossible... Litteraly in universe.
These guys say they forgot this happened, but this fusion is the entire reason I remember this episode. It's such a cool thing to see that fusing two things together does not always improve on the originals, some things aren't meant to exist together. While I'm not a big fan of the design (they just mashed them together without changing anything lol) I think it was a really cool and memorable concept. Also "Ripblast" and "Heatjaws" are both absolutely fire names, no pun intended.
@@trontravolta379 Wow. That man's career is wider than I thought. I knew him in all his video game rolls such as Mortal Kombat characters like Sub Zero and Reptile as well as Hobgoblin in Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions and Ares in God of War
Those baby gators makes me wonder why isn't the mother guarding the nest, or carrying the babies to the water? That's what alligators do, same with their cousins the crocodile, Cayman, and gharial.
Mother alligator: please help me I'm being continually harassed and abused by underage children, my children just hatched and they cannot defend themselves.
I absolutely adore the symbols on the Omnitrix. It normally looks like an hourglass... it's a watch, something that keeps time. Like the time that Ben has when he turns into different aliens. But when he's opening it up to change, the indents cross into a double-helix before turning into a diamond, showing a silhouette of the alien. Then when it is malfunctioning in this episode, it never fully finishes crossing into the diamond, staying as a double-helix. Double, as in two aliens fusing together.
I’m disappointed Wildvine and Cannonbolt did not have a fusion in this episode. They are the only 2 extra aliens Ben had at the time so it would have been neat to have seen them fused together
It would’ve also been great to see him fumble around with the powers. I could imagine the vines getting tangled up whenever he rolls and the cannon bolt part being too heavy to support the vines
Dr. Animo is starting to remind me of a Spider-man villain who had this incredible interaction with Spider-man Spider-man: "You can rewrite DNA on the fly, and you're using it to turn people into *Dinosaurs?* But with tech like that, you could cure *cancer!"* Sauron: "But I don't *want* to cure cancer. I want to turn people into dinosaurs."
@@greatmind179 Only if people wanted to be a dinosaur and I could reverse the process. Dinosaurs weren't that bright. The T-Rex was basically a giant chicken.
So, remember when HeatJaws attacked the mutated frog underwater and it passed out? Frogs breathe through their skin, they are amphibious because their skin needs to be wet. The frog was barely alive and breathing very heavily by the end because Ben nearly suffocated it.
The face plate more than likely helps the Omnitrix focus in on a single aliens dna which is why you can’t spin it without the face plate and random dna gets into random transformations.
This might be a stretch, but I could have seen the face plate as looking like a lens(just ironically the frame around it and not the actual lens). And of course, lenses are tools to help you _focus_ edit: Actually a frame is also appropriate because thematically, it's confining the scope of the transformation to a single alien's dna; a frame draw your attention(focus) to what's inside it rather than around it.
@@Fei-Chan imagine if instead of him turning into a super sad creature that would like to die instead of live in that body,He turned into a tetramand and absolutely wreck animo spine in half?
A little weird that animo goes to a gator farm and DOESN’T mutate one of the gators immediately. Funny enough I think the heatbat is the coolest thing to come out of this episode pffft!
Remember the second Ghostrider movie? How the movie really showcased Ghost Rider's ability to transform any vehicle he piloted into a demonic hellfire machine? That's how I imagine the Heatblast+Upgrade fusion working.
I wish they had included Greymatter and Ripjaws in the DNA lab and added Ditto, Eyeguy, and Waybig later. Would a Wildmutt/Eyeguy fusion have eyes? That would actually be a really good fusion for tracking and be impossible to sneak up on. I imagine he would have Wildmutt's vision overlayed with Eyeguy's similar to snakes with heat pits.
I would have it so that wildmut's scent gills covered the design like eye guy's eyes and he had "Hyper Smell" and could sense the difference between 2 grains of salt. Not sure how the energy beams would work though... Beyond gross sneezes...
@lalrivunga hnamte I always called it Vinemutt. You could make the same debate with Upgrade and Upchuck too, Gradechuck. Speaking of Vinemutt, the "official" version has Wildvine's shoulder eyes? In fact a few Wildmutt fusions have eyes so Eyemutt most likely would too?
Diamond matter could’ve used his brains to ricochet the shards he shoots to be able hit the mutated animals. For example if he was stealthy in the episode he could ricochet shards shots to confuse the mutants of where he is exactly.
I was so obsessed with the fusion website... The Ghostfreak, Benmummy, Benwolf, Benvictor, and Wildvine combinations were so damn cool. Diamondfreak... perfection
Original series with ben : With one screwdriver, hé break the Omnitrix alien force with ben dad : He broke all his tools and didn't even scratch thé omnitrex
Upgrade-Wildvine fusion could definitely work in a clockwork fantasy setting. His vines gould grow outward and take manual control of airships and stuff
Imagine if he'd gotten an Upgrade-Wildvine fusion which combined Upgrade's ability to meld with and modify technology & Wildvine's ability to merge with plantlife into Upgrade but for living matter, and that was how the mutations were undone- By Ben in that fusion state merging with the mutated creatures/ Max & seperating the alien dna out, undoing the mutations "manually".
CannonR8 cant be a ball can’t be fast. Regular speed punchs prone to tripping over tail. Upgrade and uh Wildmutt. Shoot lazer out of the gills. And shoots the quills(wildmutt can shoot quills?) Upgrade and Stinkflys. SLIME no bones upgrade becomes a flammable liquid. Uh burns organic matter and tech. Ages technology a downgrade not unupgrade.
I remember writing a dumb comic on like 15 pieces of office paper as a kid about Ben having the same problem again for no reason, only he was fighting Kevin. I remember making a Ghostfreak-4 Arms that was only in like one panel and a Stinkfly-Grey Matter that Kevin took down with a fly-swatter. The problem just went away at the end with no explanation. It was one of my proudest achievements.
Yeah, that sounds oddly reasonable for an episode.. like I could see the problem just going away for no reason actually happening in an episode, not like a serious one.. but an episode where Kevin fights with a fly swatter is not going to be a serious episode. I rank your comic 25/25 wish it was actually animated as a full episode.
I would've loved to see a XLR8 and Grey Matter fusion. It's this highly intelligent being with immense physical speed to accomplish any task. Hell, you could've done it to where XLR8 also increased his thought process and so he can't sit still what so ever.
Would've been cool if Diamondmatter have shot various crystals for the Fire Bat to avoid, eventually leading the bat to fire a blast at him which would've reflected from crystal to crystal, focusing into a beam that would end the bat.
While it is questionable that Ben was able to remove the face plate of the watch with a screw driver, we also see Azmuth remove the god damn core of the watch with his bare hands in secret of the omnitrix
As a kid I always assumed Stinkfly was dr. Animo's favourite alien because it was the one most like an animal. Realizing now that Wildmutt was a thing... maybe he just wanted Stinkfly's ability to fly.
I imagine it's because stinkgly is a bug and bugs are always the first used when it comes to looking at and experimenting with genetics. Maybe being a bug actively makes Stinkflies DNA easier to manipulate than any other alien.
Bruh the DNA lab is the most terrifying thing I have ever witnessed also great vid probs one of my favourite videos of yours currently also I like how u did this with ash btw I Love his art especially his symbio aliens so cool
next thing you know ben breaks the Omnitrix again cause him to obtain the powers of his aliens while still retaining his human form. man, could you imagine that? that would be the lamest thing that could happen to ben. thank goodness that didn't happen to Ben *AT ANY POINT OF HIS FUTURE...*
@@pedrohenriquemoraessantos1164 Even still that undermines its role. Like during the civil war on upchucks planet he could turn into both species so he was on both sides and neither side. This ben ten would not do that he would just have there power
Most intellectually impressive fusion. Grey Matter and Upgrade. A vast and superior intellect mixed eith the ability to merge with tech and upgrade it.
I never got how Ben would be able to break the omnitrix with a screwdriver. The thing which is suppose to be bottom line indestructible, is broken by a 10 year old with a screwdriver.
@@HSISN06942 I mean, if it could kill it's user that would potentially try to take it off because of frustration and fear it's kinda the opposite of what Azmuth was going for?
6:09 It's funny you point that out, i remember in the Ben 10,000 episode Animo's entire design was one big white-haired gorilla body. I like to think of this as the prototype
I actually have a theory about why the Ripjaws/Heatblast fusion is so blatently just an alien creation chamber It could probably be because the powers don't work together
I don't remember if it was the DNA lab or not, but i do remember a fusion game in some shady ben 10 site. You entered codes and it would give you an alien. Put 2 codes, and bam, fusion. It didn't have all aliens from the classic series, but there was another one for Alien Force Edit: watching the video before comenting is a good thing. Yes, it was dna lab, but as i said, it was on a shady ben 10 site and had the codes on the same page. Well, now i know why it had codes at least And it still doesn't explain the AF one
When I played DNA lab I remember I used to go to a "official" CN site with a lot of flash games, and it was just like that, each alien had a code. The AF was wacky and not fun bc it wasn't pre made art like DNA lab, it wasn't even about fusion, you had generic alien parts and you chose color
Hey I remember messing around with fusions in the Alien Force one! I don't remember a whole lot of what kind of fusions I made, but I think I used Alien X's body and turned it red at one point lol.
Imagine Ghost Freak and Heat Blast, Ghost Blast, could shoot fire that phases through objects. Match with the theme of the fusions being near powerless.
CannonR8 cant be a ball can’t be fast. Regular speed punchs prone to tripping over tail. Upgrade and uh Wildmutt. Shoot lazer out of the gills. And shoots the quills(wildmutt can shoot quills?) 7:03 I get what you mean, but Stinkfly kinda just FEELS like the alien that would live in a swamp, of the current playlist. So...idk, maybe share it between Stinkfly, Wildvine, and Ripjaws?
Your comment about the episode having a comic book feel is just on point. It's basically another what if scenario. And about the DNA Lab, I was gonna comment But then Ash basically echoed my thoughts "I've never seen this, that's so cool"
I was thinking how some of these fusions would work (at least the ones that seem kinda obvious). New abilities/traits that come with the combined forms basically. Be warned because its a lot and not in a perfect order. Thanks for reading. Blitzwolfer + Wildmutt would give him access to echolocation since Vulpimancers are reliant on sound. The downside is that this reliance on sound is a double whammy as higher-pitched sounds would probably be more lethal to him. Diamondhead + Ghostfreak would have a natural ability where his crystals can not be phased through by Ectonurites and other aliens with the ability to phase like Necrofriggians. Diamondhead + Wildvine has access to terrakenesis, provided his crystals are growing out of the earth he is trying to move. Diamondhead + Wildmutt would have the ability to track stuff using his crystals. Almost like proximity alerts. Diamondhead + Frankenstrike can channel electricity through his crystals. Diamondhead + Heatblast can combine his crystals and his fire. He can control his crystals from ranges where they are simply burning to turning the crystals into magma. Wildmutt + Frankenstrike can sense electricity/electrical beings. Wildmutt + Ghostfreak can sense ghosts/other undead. Wildmutt + Heatblast can distinguish what is and isn't fire and focus on what he wants. This is useful since fire is likely 'blinding' to a normal Vulpimancer. Wildmutt + Upgrade can sense and detect specific technology. However, higher-level technology has a stronger 'scent' so he must learn how to keep track of whatever he is tracking. He can also see normally, though the quality of his vision is poor. Think of like a camera's picture quality at night; that's his vision regardless of light levels. Wildmutt + XLR8 can track things too fast for the human eye to see. His reaction and counters are also almost blindingly fast, but this is technically slower than a natural Kineceleran. Frankenstrike + Cannonbolt would have the ability to charge his rollouts with electricity. It would function in a similar way to how Shocksquatch (Or Electriyetti if you wanna get technical) supercharged Gwen's Cannonbolt, minus the need for two aliens. Depending on how you look at it, his towers can either be retractable, his towers could hide on the inside, or be a major weakness when using the rollout ability. If its considered a weakness, he could only roll forward and never backward. (I'm not sure if the physics would check out on that though) Ghostfreak + Heatblast would create a burning aura instead of a chilling one. Not exactly a true ability, more like a side effect. Perhaps a true ability is that his flames would actually cast darkness? Ghostfreak + Upchuck can now eat magic, souls, and/or undead spirits. The individual/spell affects the taste. (EX: fire-based spells would be considered spicy.) Ghostfreak + Wildvine has the ability to create and control dead plant matter. While he can kill off plant matter, doing so would not be beneficial. A lot of the aliens with movement abilities (XLR8, Cannonbolt, etc.) would create a flame trail and fiery afterimage when combined with Heatblast. For example, XLR8 can now run fast enough to set the ground on fire. Cannonbolt chars the ground he rolls on. Upgrade + Heatblast would probably set vehicles on fire, but would also give the added benefit of high heat resistance. Almost like how Ghost Rider possesses vehicles and turns it into a death metal variant. Upgrade + Wildvine gives access to biomechanical blueprints, instead of being limited to mechanical ones. Upgrade + XLR8 would give inherent speed boosts to whatever he 'upgrades'. XLR8 + Four Arms would lose some strength but retain most of XLR8's speed. This makes Four Arms into a very fast reacting tetramand, but a slow kineceleran. Four Arms + Snare-Oh has much stronger bandages. This is both a strength and a weakness since his bandages can not be weakened past its natural state. Four Arms + Diamondhead is an offensive and defensive tank; Four Arms keeps his strength while gaining Diamondhead's toughness. The downside is that his size and mass means his overall speed and reactions are quite slow; he would lose against any Kinecelerian despite being basically unbreakable. Cannonbolt + Diamondhead is basically if Ultimate Canonbolt could control crystals. However, similar to the Four Arms + Diamondhead fusion, he's very bulky, tanky, and heavy which results in slower walking speeds and poor reactions. His rollout speed is unaffected, and if the two fusions were put to a defensive contest, the Cannonbolt + Diamondhead fusion would win out. Despite the absence of more Grey Matter transfusions, I imagine that there are two that really stand out. XLR8 + Grey Matter turns Grey Matter into a hyper genius, able to solve complex equations in a matter of seconds. This especially helps since he's still small. Four Arms + Grey Matter would be an average between the two sizes. Short for a Tetramand (maybe even midget) but still a giant compared to Galvans. The bonus for this fusion is that he would still know his strength, his limits, and most importantly, how and where to strike. Wow, you read through all of this? Congratulations. Get yourself a cookie. What do you think of it?
10:40 well, the difference is, if you get a heavy enough bullet (or projectile, line say perhaps, a tungsten rod) and drop it from space, thats a projectile that could kill a lot of people. As for the energy... Yes 😂
Love the video. And I love fusions Wich Is why I like Glitch I guess (regardless Glitch is very underrated character in the Ben 10 franchise). Also diamond matter could use graymatter's smarts to use the diamonds in neat ways
Just when I finished watching the other videos! Obviously I love hearing fan talk about cool things, but I really value your perspective as an artist, its helping me see farther into all cartoons not just this one
I remember I made a list of the fusion codes I could see from outside the package of the toys when we were at the store. I was a big fan of the Ghostfreak fusions, but I also remember thinking HeatFly would be really useful with the explosive goo.
A couple of days ago I had just happened to look inside of my old closet on the corner of my room (it was from like 2013-2015 or so). On the inside of the door I had stuck some like Ben 10 decorations/wall stickers and one of them was Diamondfreak. I saw it from a distance and thought "Chromastone?" but then I realized I had somehow gotten my hands on a fusion without noticing it was a completely Unknown alien to me. I didn't even know they were available or how I had gotten it all the way back around the OV days.
Could you imagine if max gained tiny amounts of the aliens (the 11)(from the second ray hitting him) that he can spread throughout his body, they would be around a fingers worth but it would be so cool and help max out in quite a few scenarios.
I feel like the real episode that changed the fandom forever was Gwen 10. Every situation after that episode I always wondered what would happen otherwise.
honestly kuro, these videos are so well produced and so nostalgic! thank you for putting in your time to make these videos for us! keep up the great work 💯
So, Gwen just put the faceplate in backwards and that de-mutated Max. A certain MST3K quote comes to mind: “This makes no sense, and yet it’s working.”
NGL this was my first episode of Ben 10 ever. So when I saw "heat-jaws" ( 11:21 ) I thought that's what the actual alien was. :P Might have helped/enforced my love of Rip-jaws.
There really is a festival for everything. My hometown had a leek festival, and the highlight of the festival was people racing outhouses down main street. Now that I type it out I'm just now realizing how weird it was.
I would’ve loved to have seen more fusions which were improvements in the original series. Or to have ben 10k reference this episode as a direct inspiration for the biomnitrix
We really needed a forwards flash where Ben creates a biomnitrix. Already tired of being a hero, he rummages through his old things in the closet. He pulls out a box containing souvenirs from the summer he found the Omnitrix. He looks at the picture with him, Gwen, and Grandpa Max. Where he is ten, where he is just a novice hero who likes to joke and be a hero, smashing evil aliens. He looks at the old Sumo cards, at Sublimino's watch, and suddenly finds Animo's DNA Transmodulator. He smiles. Next, the camera moves away from his room, showing a lot of green flashes Next, a change of scenery, Rook and Ben ride in a thunderstorm. Suddenly, a mutant frog blocks the road. - Ben Tennyson! - Animo shouts - You can't win this time! - You say that every time He gets out of the car and you can see that he has two Omnitrix. - I hope you missed this guy. STINK ARMS! - Hey, my arms don't stink! Wait, i remember him! - Animo shouts before Stink Arms punches him. - HEATJAWS - The fire injures the Animo. - Don't you think that the fusion of fish and fire is not the best? - Rook says - I know. I just wanted to remind Animo of a special day
It's interesting which voice actors they choose for the fusions. They chose Stinkfly's, Diamondhead's, and Heatblast's over Four Arms', Grey Matter's, or Ripjaws' This episode also has Ben mentions XLR-Freak, despite him escaping the Omnitrix the episode prior (the episodes were produced the other way around) It's a shame the only Ripjaws fusion we got was Heat Jaws. Even the DNA Lab never gave us a Ripjaws one
I'd really like to see the Canonbolt/Fourarms fusion. To me it seems like Cannonbolt has a heightened sense of balance, because Ben almost always seems to land perfectly coming out of ball form. I imagine this fusion using the balance and rotation of Canonbolt to swing it's arms like a tornado (i.e. Hitmontop, but flipped)
Such a good a good episode. It’s really cool how they carroed on the tradition of Omnitrix fusions and that fans took inspiration from this particular episode to make more fusions of several omnitrix aliens. Even the alien force, ultimately aliens and omniverse aliens, including the ultimate forms. Definitely has created an inspirational impact on the fans.
